Ok guys. I need help from those of you that are the deal finders. I want to fly from Green Bay to Orlando the 1st week of December avoiding Friday & Saturday nights. We want to go for 4 days. How do I go about doing this? I am working on American Airlines points. We have always booked our entire trip straight through the Disney site because I just didn't have time to do anything else. Now that I am trying to take multiple trips in a year because , I want to be as cost-effective as possible.

Chuck has agreed to the DVC. I just have to put the budget together to show we can afford it. I'm hoping we'll be members by the end of the summer. I'm also looking at AP's. Would we qualify for a discount as DVC members? What other benefits would we receive as DVC members that I can? I've tried looking at the budget board but they don't really have info on helping with planning trips anymore. It is mostly about discounts different places.

Thanks for any help you can provide. PM me if you prefer.

 Congrats on DVC!!! My DH would never go for it...
But it looks like he has agreed again to the 10 year anniversary trip in '07- he was talking last night about wanting to try Pop or All Star Sports since he thinks Kyle would get a kick out of the theming. I told him I would agree to try a value, but then I want to go for 10 days not 8!

Vicki, Good luck on the sewing project. That is something I haven't done in awhile.

I'm actually suprised that Disney has not yet created clothing and accessories for Pal Mickey. Think about how much money they could make on it. Think how much Build A Bear or American Girl makes on clothing and accessories. Also they already make so much for Mr. Potato Head, wasn't Mickey the original why can't he have different outfits and accesories so you can dress him as you feel fits.

I also don't understand why they haven't created pal Minnie, Donald, Goofy, etc. I'd imagine there are people who would want more than one Pal (insert Disney Character name here).

Becky

Disney did come out with 4 new Pal Mickey outfits (or should I say shirts & accessories - no shorts) this summer. They aren't great but they are ok. There is a Safari outfit, Mickey Mouse Club outfit, Pin Trading outfit, and Rain Poncho. Build-a-bear has some really cute stuff but they are too big for Pal Mickey. Michael's has some stuff that will fit.

I'd love a Pal Minnie. The American Girl shirts would fit Pal Mickey but you can't really find boy stuff. If there was Pal Minnie, I could buy some really cute stuff for her.

Ok, DDAs.... it's been a loooooong freakin' day.

I haven't caught up yet, but I promise I will. While Kyle and I were out to dinner trying to celebrate, we got a phone call that my great grandfather is in ICU at a hospital nearby. We detoured there, really unaware of what was going on...

He's 86, but - as far as we knew - healthy as can be. He went in this morning for some minor procedure (so we were told).... and now he's very ill :confused3 It turns out he was having all sorts of tests done for some things that have been going on the last week or so, but didn't tell anyone. Well, when he got to the hospital the docs said he didn't look well, but realized he had come in because he was feeling bad.

Within the hour he was worked up, transferred to the MICU and has steadily declined. He is now septic, but they can't really get antibiotics going until they stabilize his blood pressure, which is absolutely refusing to respond to the 4 meds he's on.

Really, if you add this to your prayer list, please add my extended family. These times are hard for all involved, but there are a few second cousins in particular that are REALLY, REALLY not taking this well. They won't go back to see him, but won't go home and get some rest, so they've been sitting in a circle just staring at one another or into space since about 11am. The food we brougth tonight was the first they'd eaten.

Even closer to my heart is my poor daddy. He isn't all that close to his father, and he always says "anything good that I am I got from {my grandpa}". He's sort of the family clown, so he's "doing his duty" and keeping everyone laughing to try to raise their spirits a bit. Which tears my heart apart because I know HE'S hurting, and he won't deal with it until everyone else is taken care of. :guilty:

So pray for peace for them, please. And of course for the doctors, etc involved... but mostly for them.

Love you all! Thanks so much for support..... in good times and in the not as good. :grouphug:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: To you and your entire family. I hope the doctors get him stabilized quickly.

you get $100 off an annual pass with DVC -

and there are some restaurant discounts - you can also get the dining plan now with DVC - which is a pretty good deal

Have you gotten the DVC info DVD? I can go on the website and ask them to send you all the info - pm me if you want me to!

I am going to share my designs here, but I won't add them to my design gallery until after our trip. These designs will probably go on the front of a shirt and the character name with clipart that I did before will go on the back.

Kevin's Mickey Head design yesterday triggered these designs. I wanted something for each of us with our favorite characters, but I wanted a common connection so that we would still match. So what do you all think?

Deb

Great designs!!

Well, the kids are all in bed, finally, and I can post for a while.

Corned beef and cabbage was a huge hit! I'm always amazed when I see my pickiest eater have 3 helpings. He loved it! I made soda bread as well, but didn't have any raisins, so I added a handful of currants instead. It smelled good, and I had a crumb of it and it tasted good to me. Apparently the family thought so too, as there is no more bread in the house. That's a good thing for me.

Dessert went over well too. DH's birthday is tomorrow, so we used the dessert to have a pre-birthday party with just the kids. We'll do a big thing with 4 of his 11 sibs tomorrow. Should be fun!

After dinner, we settled in for a Family Fun Movie Night. I wasn't able to get Darby O'Gill and the Little People, so I settled on one of my favorites: The Gnomemobile. The kids loved it! I'm always amazed that the old Disney movies still reach a new audience. Katie already asked if she could watch it again in the morning.

Tomorrow, we take another carload of clothes (mine and kids) to goodwill, then it's piano lessons (I teach my kids) and violin lessons for Katie (thanks to my sister). After that, birthday time for DH. Another busy day, but at least we'll spend it as a family. I love those times.

Have a great night, everyone. Hope your St. Patty's Day was as good as mine!

Jo, what's the big project for this weekend? You always seem to have something planned. Are you going to work, work, work, or are you going to have a nice relaxing weekend?

his breathing is somewhat labored - and he isn't sleeping well -

Steve will only be gone two nights - but here is the kicker - I work at my church and normally - I just am in the office but this week I scheduled a program for the 4th graders (a year ago) that I am running - but Nick can't go in the nursery and I have no one to watch him - guess I better figure soemthing out pretty quick!!

I bet you will see a big difference in 48 hours. That is always the magic number with my boys and ear infections. :wizard: :wizard: Get Better quick Nick, for Mommy's sake as well as yours.

Thanks. Kids are good. They're sitting here eating green sprinkle cookies that we made yesterday for class snack. They had a blast at school today. Leprechauns came in their classrooms while they were on the playground and turned all the chairs upside down and made a mess. He left chocolate coins for everyone! They were so excited.

DH is coming home early from work and taking us to dinner so I don't have to cook or clean up! Then I will dose up on all my meds and hit the bed early.

Nick came home from school today and was so excited because Leprechauns came into his classroom last night and flipped all the desks and chairs upside down and left little green footprints everywhere. Hunter told me after I got home from work tonight that Leprechauns came into his classroom while he was at recess and left a note. He doesn't remember what is said, but he was excited about the note. It sounds like leprechauns were very busy last night and today. :teeth:

I remember having a Leprechaun hunt when I was in second grade. He kept leaving leprechaun dust for about the whole week in advance and clues about him. Leprechaun dust was sparkly green small shamrocks. It was lots of fun.

Lots of kids in this area were told to make leprechaun traps. Lots of leprechauns out and about causing fun and havoc.

Just home. I have an ear infection, sinus infection, bronchitis, and horrible pink eye. she gave me an oral steroid, oral anitbiotic, steroid/antibiotic eye drops, cough syrup, decongestant, and my asthma inhaler. Geez! Teaching preschool can be hazardous to your health!

I'm still teaching my class tomorrow. Send PD that I make it through 9 hours of lecture...
