We are doing a small cookout with another family if you want to come by for burgers around 5ish! :thumbsup2

I am waiting for Bob to get here with his DD then we are all going to the pool this afternoon. I'm thinking the water is going to be mighty cold! I've got cheesey macaroni salad and brownies made, the veggie tray and cucumber salad are done, my girlfriend is bringing the baked beans.....I think we are all set. All I need to do yet is make the hamburger patties and cook them. YUM!

Sounds like your day was a success. I remember going to the Ferry Farm pool the weekend it opened and the water was always freezing. I bet the kids didn't mind, though...

And thanks for the invitation to join you. We were very lazy yesterday. And I didn't even read the DDA board!

Jo - You have every right to be proud of your DD. She is protecting us all! I was also glad to read that you will have two days off instead of the one you thought you would have during the week. Enjoy them!

Bernadette - It was good to see you post. I have missed you!

Theresa - I am glad you were able to bring Pearl home. I hope she becomes one with your family very soon.

Debbie - that kitty picture looks like something on a card. Very well done!

DS was watching some show on the History Channel about the technology in Star Wars and whether or not those things are possible. Now he has decided he is bored with that. But there is another Star Wars show coming on about the 30th anniversary so he may end up back on History Channel in a few minutes. We bought advance tickets to the big Star Wars exhibit coming to the Ft. Worth Museum of Science next month. DS's "uncle" who is giving him all the vintage toys is obviously a big fan, so we are all going together. Even DH will get to go because he will FINALLY have days off again!

My DH was watching the same shows off and on yesterday! He was a big Star Wars fan and is also in love with the History Channel, so that was a match made in heaven!

Deb- I got a bunch of splinters in my leg from a traveling circus...the last one (and biggest ) finally came out 3 years later. I so feel for your little guy. I am glad he is being a trooper.

:rotfl: :rotfl: ;)
Okay - you totally can't make a comment like this, and not go into details!

I agree... that had me laughing out loud. I have never known travleing circuses to give out splinters! :rotfl:

Good night, friends!

We have 2 and a half days of school left!!! It's hard to believe. I'll be around for a while tomorrow, but I've got to get lots done to be ready to leave on SATURDAY!!!! That's right, people!! I'll be in DL by the weekend!!!

Wow! It is so hard to believe that this trip is almost here. Seems like yesterday that you were putting up your ticker and bemoaning the fact that it was so long before you all could go. :goodvibes

How do you tell a kitty where her potty is??? We've always had kittens before....and that was 12 years ago that we last had a kitten. We got the same litter they used at PetSmart....is that enough...she's mad at Jim because he tried taking her to show where the potty is...she is now sulking...Poor Jim has 4 hormonal females now. :rotfl2:

Just show her, and make sure she isn't confused by the house so she can find it if she needs it. The cat at work and Aurora both HATE to be picked up for any reason, so I can see how she might get testy if you carry her to the potty.

Glad to hear Colby got around ok today, but it still sounds painful!

Glad he is improving! I hope his check up goes well today!

My DH was watching the same shows off and on yesterday! He was a big Star Wars fan and is also in love with the History Channel, so that was a match made in heaven!

I watched part of the 30th anniversary thing. I thought it was hilarious how the college professors kept drawing all these deep conclusions about Star Wars and how it is a commentary on our society and blah blah blah. George Lucas is a brilliant guy, but I doubt that he put THAT much thought into it. He was YOUNG when the first movie came out! They kept showing split screen of historic art or whatever beside clips from Star Wars to show the parallells. Kind of hokey, but interesting!

Lindsay - I am sorry your picnic was a wash-out! When it started to pour I kind of thought that might be the case.:guilty: Hopefully your week will go well!

Well, off to the shower. Back to work today!

I know that you're going to have an amazing trip. You done so many preparations. Did you manage to get it all done? Since you did so many wonderful extras for you neices and nephews, I wonder if they will have any surprises for you?

I agree with putting the kitty in the box several times. We still do this with Riley whenever we move his box. Since we now take him camping sometimes we refresh his memory in the camper too. I also suggest that you take Pearl for rides in the car periodically. It is much less tremadic on them when it is time for the vet. I've always carried Riley around the house. He will lay on his back in my arms just like a baby, has ever since we got him. It's a little harder now that he is 11 lbs though. speaking of Riley, he is peaking outside from under a curtain and there are birds on the lawn getting him all excited. His tail is thumping and he's meowing :rotfl: He'd love to get out now, but hopefully that won't happen. He's an indoor cat and always has been. He has managed to sneak out several times lately and I suspect that there are a couple of 4 year olds responsible for that. He knows that I feed him at 10 PM. If he's missing he will always show up at the door at 10PM on the dot:confused3 I have no idea where he keeps his watch :lmao:

I need to jump in the shower and get Colby off to have his feet checked out. Then I need to pick up cat food (Walmart doesn't carry Riley's Brand). I think we'll quickly run into Kohl's too then off to get parts for the 4 wheeler. Hopefully home by nap time. Logan's got a cold today. I'm sure that letting him play in the brook at the fishing derby and it wasn't warm out at all. He had to stay in the wet pants and shoes for hours :sad2:

Good morning!!

Just got back from ww's..down 5 lbs & I made my 10% target today.:cool1:

We had a very busy weekend. Saturday we saw the airshow at the beach, Sunday we went to the city to hang around the seaport, took the kids to see the stock exchange, federal hall, & trinity church. Yesterday we had a BBQ & played with the kids all day. It really felt like summer here & everyone didn't want to back to school this morning.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

I agree... that had me laughing out loud. I have never known travleing circuses to give out splinters! :rotfl:

I knew I should have put traveling circus BENCH. :rotfl2: It was before I had Abi and Cassidy was a little one....and we received tickets to a one ring circus. After a huge and I mean huge fight with the ticket taker we go in. We're sitting on the bench and were asked to move over...so I did....unfortunatly the bench decided it wanted to come with me. :rotfl: I had about 50 pieces of wood (most too big to be called splinters) in my thighs.

I thought all had festered out and I had a scar from the biggest (about 3 inches long) until about three years later and it came out with a little help with tweezers.

My name is NOT graceful and I have the scars to prove it!!

Pearl waited until I was asleep to use the potty....this morning I realized we forgot to get a scooper yesterday:scared1: We all thought we had put it in but realized that the lady came so we could fill out the paper work for Pearl.

The cat has her days and nights mixed up:upsidedow , she meowed quite a bit last night (though some could have been the stray calico) and she is the most active 6 year old I know.

Good Morning DDA!!

I have to work just 3 days this week...which means I have to stuff all the stuff I do into that time.

I did my first walk to work this morning....did it in about half hour....which is pretty good...we'll see how I survive when it's hot out!!

Same here! Alan was in Star Wars heaven last night! I thought the second program was more interesting than the first. It was interesting to see all the mythology tied together!
