Wow! I expected to have to read forever to get caught up from my "Good morning, DDA! post at 7:30 this a.m. You all were very quiet today! Hope everyone is OK. I had three recitals tonight but got to take Kristin and her best friend out to lunch and shoe shopping this afternoon beforehand. We had a ball!

Hi all!

Well this has been an exciting day ;) I got a call at work from Riley's school telling me he had been in a accident. It happened after school while he was waiting for his ride to come home. He was riding a friends bike & a lady opened her car door as Riley was going by & he hit the door & flew over over it & landed on the ground :scared1: Thankfully there are no broken bones, I will just have one sore boy tomorrow. He landed on his right side & his arm & leg are pretty sore at the moment. Never a dull moment around here

The lady did call me to make sure Riley is ok. I am not completely blaming her, but hopefully she will check her side mirror next time.

I'm so glad that Riley is ok!!! How scary!!!

There was a terrible accident here, yesterday at about noon. A 29 year old father was walking his 5 year old girl to kindergarten. They were crossing a street, almost crossed, and an 86 year old man turned and hit them. Both father and daughter died, and the 86 year old man is devastated! It was just horrible!

Poor Anne Marie (and poor Katie too!). I hope you are both feeling better very soon.

Thank you! I was so surprised when the dr said she had an ear infection. She hasn't had one since she was a toddler.

Marci - It appears things are going to be fine for me, but I would have helped out with your boys if I had the availability!

Robyn - Brother & Sister are always sleep deprived on Mondays so I know how hard it can be! Hopefully your 5 yr. old will behave for the next few weeks! I can't wait to see pics of Lucy's room!

OMG Janet, I am sorry!!! I am glad Riley has no broken bones but that must have scared him. Yes, she should have looked before opening her car door. Hope he isn't too sore in the morning. :grouphug:

Janet, I hope Riley isn't too sore tomorrow! I am so sorry about the accident!

Well I love my heating pad....:cloud9: :lmao:
Took Katie to the dr..she does indeed have an ear infection.
Long day here...

Thanks for all of the congrats on my new job! My new little charge sent me flowers today with a note saying she is looking forward to having me for her nanny! This family is truly so nice.

When I got to work this morning I was feeling a bit passive/aggressive. I left my cell phone on the counter at home when I took DS to school. Instead of going to work without it I came back home to get it and I got to work at 8:30 on the dot. 8:30 is my scheduled start time, but I am there by 8:10 almost every single day. Dadboss was there with the kids. Today was Sister's last day of school, so we just talked about that for a second and then Dadboss was out the door. He said 'bye, he didn't say I was fired.:confused3

I didn't hear from either one of my bosses during the day, which is standard.

Momboss came in tonight and she DID apologize. She is sad because she doesn't want another nanny. She wants to keep me, but they can't afford it with the 2 kids both having tuition. We all understand that, but Momboss is having a very hard time with it. She did say that it has NOTHING to do with me, she is feeling panicky because she doesn't want a new nanny. So we were able to talk about my last day in a rational manner, and I told her I will start my new job June 25. She has called a couple of agents, and she will have more time to dedicate to the search after she gets through this week at work. She is very involved in a big trial and it is stressing her out. I don't excuse her behavior, but I understand it and I forgive her. I am sad, too. The preschool director and I were both crying when we said good-bye today. The families at the synagogue are just amazing and I will miss them tremendously.

Momboss says I have to promise to give her top priority on babysitting, just behind my new charge. Which I would do even if I was angry at her, because I am so in love with the kids.

It's that time of year up here in Northern NewEngland when we must lock into oil rates for next year. There is a local oil cooperative of sorts that we can join for $30. The prebuy price is $2.355 or we can lock into a fixed price of $2.405 and pay as we go. There is no telling what individual oil companies will offer and they won't do anything for another month or so. Last year this club beat the best prices by 10 cents per gallon. I'm thinking that we should jump in and get it over with. Has anyone heard what oil prices will be in their areas?

Deb

It sounds like you will be leaving on good terms and you will get to babysit the little guys too. I'm glad that it is all working out for you.

That is so sad! A teenager ran over a little girl on her way to school here a year or so ago. She was on her scooter, and Mom was walking. Only the DD was killed. Very sad.:sad2:

Poor Riley! I hope he is much better tomorrow, although he will probably get more sore before he gets better. Sending PD!

That is really tragic! Prayers for that family.

Your new charge seems to have very classy parents! Sending flowers to you was really neat! That is fabulous news about Momboss opening up to you. Whenever anyone leaves at work, my boss takes it personally, even when she knows it's the right decision. Enjoy your last few weeks with your charges!

Deb -- hope you are feeling better.

Anne Marie -- I hope you are too!

Sending PD to anyone else who needs it!

Yes it was a slow day here.

Sounds like you had a good day!
