Thanks, Kelli and Theresa!

Total change of subject - does anyone know the name/website address for the company that rents baby strollers and delivers them/picks them up from WDW resorts? I've done a search and can't find what I'm looking for, but I know someone here has used them (Tammi, maybe?). It seems like the name starts with Baby...

Good Morning DDA, (actually afternoon)

Lindsay - :grouphug: I'm glad to hear that Jonathan is alright, I'm sure he gave you quite a scare! I was reading a trip report earlier when someone mentioned renting a crib from ABBF, not sure what it stands for.

Elizabeth - Love the Kitty in the purse picture

Glynis - I know that I missed you but I still want to wish you a Wonderful trip.

Beth - :grouphug: I feel your pain, I went through something similar with my DD's and cheerleading. I still get angry when I think about it.

That's it, Debbie! Thanks so much as it was driving me nuts! :rotfl:

Yes, I've used them 3 times. It's abbf.com

Oops. Jumped the gun on that previous post. I see Debbie helped you out.

Beth - I'm so sorry you have all the politics going on. I hope you all can continue swimming and enjoy it, instead of being frustrated. I do understand your feelings though.

Lindsay - How scared you must have been. I'll have to remember that, because I'm like Jonathan. Once I get out there I just keep pushing along because I want to get it done. Usually it's because I'm on a time limit. Thanks for the wake up.

All this talk about donuts and seeing Elins chili bowl has made me hungry.

Bernadette - it sounds as if Lizzy needs to have an outstanding teacher next year. According to the IEP (or whatever that evaluation is called in your neck of the woods) there is a lot required of the teacher to help her keep on task. I hope that you are as fortunate as you were this year in her placement.
I agree with you about her needed an outstanding teacher to follow through with the plan. I'm not really sure if she'll really have an IEP or not. I guess we'll find out more tomorrow. I actually think its too much to ask from a teacher. Its not like Lizzy is the only child in the class. Lizzy is unfortunate to be a memeber of the largest class our town has ever seen. Most are in the 90 to 110 range and hers is 134. They don't move teachers around from year to year to accomodate her large class size they just have more students/teacher. Joe's class is about 120 but the class between them is just 90. That class of 90 still had 6 1st grade teachers this year so they must have class sizes of about 15. She was lucky to loose a few students this year to moving and switching to private school. Her Kindergarten class was 25 students but Joe's Kindergarten class is 20 students. I think that's a huge difference.

I also think these things might help her in the classroom but I was hoping we could figure out skills for her to use in any setting. You know in real life when she gets a job. She's not always going to have a teacher making sure she's on task. She's just like my DH. He has suffered in his work life with being too slow. His bosses always appreciated that he was reliable, hard working, and rarely made a mistake but I'm sure his work pace frustarted them all. I was hoping she could learn a few knew tricks while she's still young.

I will go into the meeting with an open mind.

Our neighbor that was going to start piano lessons has decided to rent out her house for the summer so I will call this week to find someone else. Maybe music would help her stay on track.

Hi, everyone! :flower3:

I hope you are all having good weekends - sounds like a lot going on everywhere. We are hoping for a quiet day here.

Yesterday was an interesting one. I was up until about 2 a.m. Friday night, finishing up my ADR planning once I got home from my work function. (I thought I had everything set, but then realized I had made no plans for the 3 days Jonathan and I will be at the GF before the rest of the family arrives! ) Then, I was up at 5:45 a.m. to get my notes together and call the Grand Gatherings Group Dining dept. It took me a minute or two to get connected to the right people, and by the time I did, the few tables they had at CRT under the "180+10" rule were gone. :headache: But, the great CM I was working with assured me that when I call back at the 180-day mark, I should be able to get a table with no problem, as I could have had my pick of tables for the 180-day mark yesterday. So, I still have that to worry about that reservation, as I'm making a ressie for 9 - all my nieces, plus moms, grandma, me and my mom.

It took almost 45 minutes to secure the rest of my reservations, many of them for a party of 16! :scared1: :faint: I was not expecting our group to have so many meals together, but we're averaging about 1 a day at this point. I learned a lot about group dining - mainly that Disney can't ensure such a large group sitting together unless you dine within the first 20 minutes, or the last 20 minutes, of a restaurant's dining times. So, we will be having a LOT of early dinners, but everyone will just have to get over it.

So, I was up at the crack at dawn, and against my better judgment, didn't go back to bed - I was doing some more planning, chores around the house, etc. Jonathan was working in the yard. I laid down on the couch at about 4:30, and fell asleep.

Shortly thereafter, Jonathan came in from doing the yard, and went to take a shower. When he got out of the shower, he stumbled into the living room, woke me up and said he couldn't feel his legs. His arms and hands were also clenching and cramping up, and he couldn't move them. His speech was slurring, and he was having difficulty moving his jaw, and it sounded like his tongue was swollen. Needless to say, this scared the absolute poop out of me, and I'm running around, trying to get clothes on him, saying I'm taking him to the ER. He's trying to fight me on it, but I manage to wrestle him into the car. I realize as I'm pulling out of our driveway that I really have no idea where to go, as the only hospital I know the exact location of around us is one that he doesn't have a good opinion of (as he's a pharm rep, he's in/out of a lot of hospitals). I decide to call 911, tell them what's going on as I'm pulling out of our subdivision, and the guy tells me to turn around and go home, as they can get EMT's and an ambulance out to me faster than I could get to any hospital (thankfully, we are close to a fire station). So, we turned back around, I got him back into the house and on the couch, and the EMT's arrived. This whole time, the guy from 911 is on the phone with me, monitoring his condition, and asking me for all sorts of signs of stroke. :scared1:

It was a great bunch of EMT's, and they got him stabilized with an IV drip, and on the way to the hospital. I think just having them there helped immensely, as one of the guys said Jonathan was so freaked out by what was happening that he was also starting to hyperventilate. We get to the hospital, they poke/prod, take blood, etc., and load him full of salt water. The final diagnosis was extreme dehydration and sun stroke, and it didn't help matters that he also has hypertension, and had had very little to eat before he did yard work in 90 degree heat. The hospital said in the summer they average seeing this in healthy men about 10 times a week. So, 5 hours later, we get to go home, and he learned a very valuable lesson. I'm just so thankful that I was home, as if it had been just about any other Saturday this summer, I likely wouldn't have been. Who knows, in his state, how long he would have waited to call for help.

So, needless to say, he's under strict orders to stay out of the sun for several days, and stay well rested, fed, and hydrated!

Don't let your DH's or family members do anything as stupid!
:scared1: Glad things worked out well and perhaps he's learned a lesson! How scary for you (and him).:grouphug:

Congrats on your ADR's! It is a lot of work! I think I need to review mine for August. I think I've got an 8am ADR for CP on a day they are now offering Magical Beginings EMH (or whatever they are calling them this year). I may try to change that one to a late breakfast instead.

That's it, Debbie! Thanks so much as it was driving me nuts! :rotfl:

I used them twice and had good service from them.:thumbsup2

Lindsay... I am so thankful you were home yesterday! I have had two dear friends die of heat stroke. Thank goodness you called 911. I hope Jonathan is feeling much better today.

Sounds like a plan to me! How are you doing, Robyn?

I am feeling pretty good, thanks for asking. The only time I am miserable is bedtime. I toss and turn all night trying to find that spot that is comfy and when I do I have to hit the bathroom.

I'm going off of memory, so :wizard: :grouphug: for anyone I miss unintentionally.

Bernadette - it's good to see you around again. I hope the school is accomodating with Lizzie's teacher assignment next year. Could you guys work with her at home this summer on some of the new concepts she'll be introduced to next year to give her a bit of a "head start"? Good luck! :wizard:

Beth - so sorry that you're feeling out of sorts (I can be a hctib on a frequent basis :rolleyes1 ), and it definitely sounds like you have enough going on, adding to the stress. Congrats to Miles and Laura for their accomplishments in their swimming! I'm sorry to hear about the synchro situation - it's sad that there seems to be so much politics in everything. Here's some :wizard: that cooler heads prevail, and the "Super Coach" doesn't win out in the end. I think the attitude you're taking with Laura is just right! :thumbsup2

Happy anniversaries to Vicki & Chuck, Terry & Hal, and a belated wish to Beth and her DH! :dance3:

Becky - good luck with the interview tomorrow! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Theresa - congrats to Cassidy! :cheer2: :cheer2: Good luck with the continued unpacking, and enjoy your belated Mother's Day dinner!

Robyn - it's good to see you - hope you guys enjoy Shrek!

Elizabeth - more cute Arabella pics - she definitely looks like a curious little kitten! I hope you guys enjoy pirates. FYI - a couple of my attorneys were telling me the other day that some Dunkin Donut locations are set to open sometime soon in the Metroplex, so there's hope for you! ;) I love KK's, but I can only eat just one - they are almost TOO sugary. My favorites are donut holes!

Elin - continue to enjoy your trip planning! It sounds like you guys will have a wonderful time! :thumbsup2

Glynis - I know I missed you, but I hope you're having a great "first full day" at DL! :yay: :yay:

Tammi - sounds like you guys have had a nice weekend. I'm with Elizabeth in thinking the candles sound like too nice of a gift. ;) Enjoy your Sunday!

Deb - it sounds like you are busy as usual, but I hope today is a little easier on you, and that your back stops hurting. Congrats to Hunter (and Nick) on their great school years, and yay  for your trip being just about paid for!

Jo - glad to hear that you guys got some much needed rain. I hope you're able to enjoy your day at Epcot!

I think you did a great job Lindsay so I am taking the easy way out and am going to ditto everything you said! and :wizard:

Lindsay - Sorry to hear about Jonathan's scare yesterday. Glad to hear he is ok. Good luck on the CRT ADR.

We enjoyed Shrek but not the $60 spent. Now I know why we wait for the dvd's! :rolleyes1 We then made a trip to "Lucy's baby store", Molly's name for BabiesRus. $150 later we left with a new changing table pad, some covers for it, 2 crib sheets, a bottle sterlizer for the microwave and some replacement bottle nipples. We also had to buy bottles and specific bottle nipples, orthodontic, for Eric's sister along with a travel changing pad. Apparently they don't sell these things in England. :confused3 She really aggravates me as she expects us to do these things for her and we will not get any reimbursement from her. We certainly couldn't call her and ask them same as she wouldn't even consider it. She even had her parents order and send her the things that she "needs" including a ton of maternity clothes. Again they must not sell them in England! Mind you they have more money than God it's just she refuses to pay the prices in England. Eric is upset as we haven't asked for anything and therefore haven't received anything from his parents. They certainly don't treat Eric and his sister the same. It bothers me mainly because it bothers Eric. It's so hard not to be petty but year after year it's the same thing. Sorry for the rant.

I am off to help Eric cook dinner and then it's going to be an early night for my girl's, they are miserably crabby right now!

You're making me hungry!

That's really weird about the nail fumes... is there not a good local bakery that has shops around your town? Our local bakery Busken has my favorite donuts by far! :thumbsup2

I can't think of a bakery that is close to us. I have heard there is a great donut shop near SMU, but the line goes out the door and around the block on weekends. Better to just eat some cereal!:rotfl: I hope Lindsay's rumor of Dunkin' Donuts is true!!

Bernadette - it sounds as if Lizzy needs to have an outstanding teacher next year. According to the IEP (or whatever that evaluation is called in your neck of the woods) there is a lot required of the teacher to help her keep on task. I hope that you are as fortunate as you were this year in her placement.

Beth - I agree that the politics of children's activities are horrendous. Unfortunately it doesn't seem as if there is much that can be done except what you are already hoping to instill in Laura... the love of swimming itself, no matter what team she is on. I hope she learns that lesson well and enjoys her next year of swimming.

Elin worded that so well that I think I will just quote it!

I am so happy that everything worked out so well in the end. It sounds like you handled it all perfectly, but you must have been so scared!

:wizard: for the CRT ADR!!! It sounds like you have a terrific trip planned!

Beth

Lindsay - YIKES!:scared1: I am so glad Jonathan is OK!
I had to call 911 for DH once when DS was about 3. DH was having horrible chest pain and we thought he was having a heart attack. The ER doc never did work out exactly what it was, but it wasn't heart related. That was when we lived in Carollton and they took him to Trinity. Now we live across the highway from Presbyterian - I could definitely drive there faster than the EMTs could get here, but it probably wouldn't be a good idea!

Bernadette I agree with Elin....it might not look like a lot on their evaluations but that is a lot to START the IEP (or whatever it's called) meeting. In the course of the meeting you will more than likely adding items....we did, every year.

I would push for a meeting of some sort. The meetings we have for DS are called 504's. I know we had to have his diagnosis (inattentive ADD) in writing from the diagnostician before the school would call the meeting, but if you have written recommendations then that might work. They told us it is important to get his modifications (very similar to Lizzy's) documented as early as possible, because as kids get older and take SATs it is hard to get the provision for extra time if you haven't had anything in place beforehand. DS is to be at the front of the classroom, have verbal cues to get back on task, and be given extra time on tests if he needs it. A lot of that wasn't necessary after we found a med for him, but if we wouldn't have found a med (or chose not to use meds) the modifications would have been important. Good luck!:wizard:

So we all liked Pirates, but DS thought it was confusing. I was able to follow it fine, but when I asked him what part confused him he said "All of it." I definitely should have watched POTC2 again to refresh my memory on Davy Jones and his story, but that's OK.pirate:

We went to sign my contract, and DS and DH both think my new employers are very nice. So we're all set! I just need to talk with them next weekend to work out the mornings that they want me to work with their current nanny.

Elin-thanks for the Kohl's hint....there was one HSM tshirt in Cassidy's size and with the awesome sale....BOGO free on all tops we got something for Abi and than because my shirts were ALOT more expensive I got 2 tanks for myself (seperate check!!)

I should ask my kids but here's what I think they would say:

Splash Mountain
Pooh
Crystal Palace meal
swimming
Soarin

Joe (6)
Test Track
Soarin
Philharmagic
TTA
Buzz
Carosel of Progress
Lights, Motors, Action!

Goffy's Barnstormer and BTMR (hasn't been on either but says she can't wait)

Pooh
Test Track
Carosel (just don't call it Cinderella's):rotfl:
Buzz

I asked the kids today and much to my surprise Joe said that he liked Buzz but it wasn't one of his favorites. He added Crystal Palace and Garden Grill to his list.

Lizzy said the Polynesian, POFQ and Pop. :rotfl:

Emma added Dumbo and a few others I just can't remember right now.

I'm still working on my photos from my May trip. I've got to make discs for my friend & her family now. Next week I hope to work on autograph cards so I can get you an updated copy of my Word file.

You're going to have to let me know how you like POR. When "pricing" out the package using 2007 dates so we could get a ballpark figure, one of the options was POR. We looked at it and later Craig said, POR looks nice. So, we're seriously considering it instead of a value. :cool1:

So I asked my kids their top favs and here is how it went:

Nicholas (7):
ToT
RnRC
Peter Pan
Tea Cups
Space Mtn
Everest
Soarin
Wishes
Spectro
Philharmagic
Heck....just do everything.....

Alyssa (5):
BTMRR
Splash Mtn
HM
FotLK
ITTBAB
Minnie and Mickeys House
PotC
Buzz Lightyear

I'm starting to add music to my slideshow and am having a hard time since the park audio thread was taken away. Does anyone have Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo downloaded that they would like to share with me?

Oh no, they took that thread away? Shows how long I was gone. :sad2:
