That's when I will be down there!!!
I would LOVE to meet you this year!!!! It was the perfect week last year. It started out in the high 80's and hit about 93 the last day. Still hot but not as oppressive as the trip later in May-I don't remember when you went home last time. Lizzy & I were there until the 23rd. The first 2 days were hot but the last 2 were just miserable and it got much more crowded too. I remember sweating standing in line for Goofy's Barnstormer (about 1/2 hour or more). I kept begging Lizzy to go ride Space Mountain instead so we could wait inside and have more than a 15 second ride. She loves Space but wouldn't agree.

I think this trip has the highest chance of falling through. I don't know how DH would react to me going all alone-no other friends. And I'm not completely sure how I would like it. I would have a grand time taking millions of photos but I think the whole thing would be more enjoyable with someone to share it with. I am willing to give a solo trip a try though. Hope I can convince my friend to go. I know she'd have a blast and we've traveled together before-quite well. I wanted to book a room just to be safe. I'll be watching airfare and when I see something great I'll push my friend a bit more to comit-if she won't I'll tell DH I'm going alone and see how he reacts to that. I do have a coworker that wants to go that same week but he's an unmarried male that shares my Disney passion. I do know how DH would react to that.;) Actually coworker is thinking of taking his mom so if I do do a solo trip I could meet up with them.

Bernadette - Yay! It looks like I will get to see you and Anne Marie in August! We are there until Aug. 24.:) I am waiting until the airfare goes down a bit. It is still $278 per person, unless we go out a day early on some funky airline and fly to Minnesota first (or some screwy thing). Gotta love how those airfare search sites will give you ALL the option to get from point A to point B!:rotfl2:
This trip is just about a definate. It will be great fun to meet you & see Ann Marie again. :cool1: I've been checking airfare but haven't seen anything under $207. Last Aug I paid $105.60. I don't think I'll get that again but something in the $150 range would be nice.

Ann Marie-:wizard: hope you find good airfare so you don't have to drive.

Well I just got back from a memorial for 2 firefighter's that died 20 years ago. I hope i NEVER have to go to one of them again, it was so hard, and I never knew the guys. We drove in a police bus to the scene of the fire and there were a ton of uniformed firefighters, firetrucks lined the street, the families of the two men that died, and the statue that they unveiled today. It was so hard and the guys saluted and some were crying. Im glad i went and it was a a nice dedication, but ir eally hope to never have to go to another like that again
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
Prayers and PD for Jennifer & her family, please!

Jennifer just called and asked me to let you all know her uncle passed away unexpectedly.:guilty: She was on her way to pick up Olivia from her mom, then they were going to go break the news to her Grandma.

I told her to let us know if there is anything we can do, but for now just keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Jennifer - :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Jennifer, I'm so sorry to hear this.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

i didnt think they were the best

My DH LOVES that place. I was so angry on our Oct 05 trip when he bought those fish & chips just a few hours before going to CP for dinner. He ate next to nothing at dinner.

Elizabeth-if you like fish & chips you should try the take out window of Raglan Road-they call it something different. The kids fish & chips and chicken fingers at dinner were really good.

Yesterday was a day of accidents around here. There was a school bus accident, with a tractor trailer truck and a van, 10 students on the bus were injured, 2 students in the van and the driver of the van was hurt. The bus was from the school where the majority of my Girl Scouts go. None of them were on the bus.

One of the older sisters of my Girl Scouts was in a car accident.

A tractor trailer truck over turned on a local on ramp for the highway.

At least everyone is alive.

Sending prayers, :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug: to everyone in need of one.

The day of accidents continues..
the other day, 3 17 year olds and another person were killed in a car accident..they believe it was due to speed..

I am not sure what happened yet, but when my mom and i went out, the highway was closed and smoke was visible..im assuming some type of car/truck fire..

so sad!

Evening everyone -
The Disney show went awesome! I talked a little fast at the beginning, but then slowed down when we started discussing packages. I really got some people good when I posted one of our days at Epcot (food total cost of $132) verse the cost of the dining plan ($78). Just seeing those nodding heads in the audience you see that it really was starting to sink in. Spent about 10 minutes on explaining the fastpass - and repeated 407 WDW DINE about 20 times. :teeth:
If I didn't have you guys I don't know what I would do. I'd be going to Disney at least 4 times a year but with everyone going at different times I can at least experience things through all of you. Only reason why I brought this up was because I priced myself out a 3 night cruise and told myself I can use my tax return...but then I read the beginning of a trip report and my Disney urge went away. Thanks!!!

Im so glad it went well!!! i knew you would do great

I love that time of year at Disney! I really wish that I could tell you that I would join you, but it just won't work for me. I think I need to find a "real" job so that I can get a Disney fix more often.

I also wish that I could join all of you in August! Think of Laura on the 21st. That's her birthday and one of the reasons we were there last year.

None of them are Disney fans like me, and they were SO SLOW!!!
I can feel your pain. In Aug we called my DH & friend's DH Slow and Slower and they would take turns switching roles. My DH is just plain slow. Friend's DH likes to talk to everyone. We would be heading somewhere and he would have stopped to chat with someone along the way.

In Dec the 3 adults wanted to shop and go back to the concierge lounge at the hotel. :confused3

I think going alone might be a fun change.

If you win the lottery before May it looks like I'll have an extra bed in my room.

I will definately think of Laura on the 21st. Maybe we'll go to CP that day for her. What's her favorite ride?

Jennifer- Prayers, :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug:

We have to renew our license and get a new picture taken every 4 years. They send us a letter telling us it is time to renew, we can mail it in or we can renew it online. They send us a photo card and we still have to go to the office to have our picture taken. I have to go this June. Often times there is a line of several people before they even open.

I'm guessing it was icy up there. Glad no one was seriously hurt.

Laura's favorite ride is Tower of Terror, but TTA and Splash Mountain come in very close. (And I'll work on that lottery win!)

No ice, the truck driver who hit the bus claimed he was blinded by the sun.

Other truck driver tried to go around the turn too fast.

The girl just lost control of the car.

Yes this is where he was based out of. They are having a memorial for him tomorrow. Hopefully beings Robin cannot be there, they will tape it & send her a copy.

I am so sorry for your friend! Was he based at Hill AFB? That's the biggest one left in Utah. I wish there was something I could do.

Bernadette,
Thanks..we drove 2 x. Once in 2002 & again in 2003. It was doable but I really would prefer the quickness of a flight.

Good night all, speak to you tomorrow. Going to watch t.vpopcorn::

We were down May 18-22 last year and it was hot, and the last few days it got really oppressive in the afternoon.

Here's a good plan......tell your DH that you are taking your co-worker with you because you have a newly divorced DDA friend that is going to be there the same time and you want to introduce him to her. ;) :thumbsup2

What grade are your kids in? The boys haven't mentioned anything yet. I have however always been open about S E X. We had the talk the first time when I was pregnant with Colby. I felt that keeping an open discussion was better than waiting to do it. We've discussed it a couple of times since, but neither have ever asked any in depth questions. They know the physical act and that is pretty much it. My parents never discussed it with me and I always felt it must be shameful if they wouldn't talk about it. I don't want my kids to grow up with that point of view (obviously mine has changed). I also didn't want conversations to ever be ackward. I really hope that my boys will come to me with any questions or problems as they arise. I guess we all hope we do the right thing, but when will we truly know?

Deb

It was the same in my house growing up & then raising the girls differently. It was such a secretive thing growing up that I figured it was shameful. I also didn't want my girls being naive. I was almost date raped in college because I didn't realize I was putting myself into a dangerous situation. So many jokes that I didn't get because I was so naive. I can't imagine how many people must have been laughing at me. It's just always been a part of our life with the girls. Katrina made it through high school and a couple of years of college and I think Becky is going to at least make it through high school.

Well, is is 8:40 and Terra has been asleep for over 2 1/2 hours now. The pipe dream I have is that she will sleep through...oops nevermind. Guess I shouldn't have typed that as she just woke up. Oh well, now I wonder how late I'll be up tonight.
