Morning Everyone!!!
It's still cold here - but it hasn't snowed or rained in two days!

Might be too much info here but oh well!!!
Has anyone tried SpanX? My cousin's wedding is in July and I got a slimming undergarmet from Davids that works for a strapless dress and stops just below the waist...it's white and boned up the sides so I know it's not going to be too comfortable...I hate boning! There's a strapless version of SpanX that is longer - it stops mid thigh (so I think it might give a smoother look) and not boned and wanted to know if anyone's tried these - being um..top heavy  I'm concerned about wearing a strapless and not having anything to hold the girls up properly. I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Also I have an appointment with a florist next week. I've been petrified about pricing for flowers - can anyone give me some prices on what might have been spent for you? On FTD.com I'm finding small bouquets for over $100 - and this is the other reason why I only want one bridesmaid! (Horrible, aren't I? :teeth: )

Chanon,

I tried spanx and really liked them. very sliming

What are your dates for Dec? We are going the 19th - 28th. Kristine will be there as well & hopefully Elin!

Hope your headache is better today :wizard:

I had even saved a ton of Christmas designs by Kate and Denise for our big Family trip next Dec. So now I will be starting from scratch on my trip planning.
ETA: Headache meds kicking in finally so I'll say good night hope to stop in tomorrow.

I bought a corset from Fredericks of Hollywood It was strapless with boning. The back was laced so it could be adjusted to make it comfortable to wear. I loved it as it had a really slimming effect. It is too big for me now, but I am considering another one if I ever need to get dressed up again. It ended below the belly button kind of mid hip area if that makes sense. Good luck with whatever you end up with. Your best bet would probably be to try on a bunch of different ones and see which one looks and feels the best on you.

Lets see how well my memory is, I've been reading off and on for 2 hours so I'm sorry if I miss anyone.

Jen I'm glad that the teaching is getting a little easier. I'm sure that once you get to know the kids it will make things much easier.

Christie Welcome back. I'm so sorry about your computer. That stinks and seems to happen at the worst possible time. I have learned the hard way to back up everything to disk, too many things have been lost over the years.

Steffy you will have a great trip. There are definitely more things that can be done as a family than things that can't. They always have the option of splitting up if the should desire to. Just make sure that you do some of the things that you want to do too.

Becky Good luck with your classes

Glynis I love your trip report. I can't believe how many details you are remembering which really tells me how special this trip was to you and Alan

Tammi get the kids better, your trip is just around the corner :thumbsup2 Notice the smilie is green, that is my jealous side shining through ;)

Sorry if I missed anyone.

Now back to my regularly scheduled housework :headache: I'm trying to convince myself that if I do one big project a day and quickly pick up what was previously done then the house should always look great. This is a great theory, but never seems to work out so well in RL :confused3

Good morning.

I posted this on the CB but thought I would ask here as well.

Dana is up for a promotion:cool1: , but it would require us to move from NYC to CA. :sad1: I have never been to California & would appreciate any info you can give. (Best home location, good school districts, etc) The area of his location would be LA, Long Beach, Orange Co, Fresno, & Sacramento.
I am not thrilled at this prospect as I love, love, love NYC but it is a good move up & I have to at least keep my mind open, right?

Anne Marie congratulations to Dana :cool1:

When dh & I lived in CA, we were in the Monterey area. We both loved it! Our favorite was going to the beach, camping in the mountains or going to the pier just to walk around. We did not have children at that time, so no help with schools. Weather was always pleasant too. No humidity!!!!!!!

The only drawback for me is the earthquakes. I am not trying to scare you. I am sure you have thought about this, but it scared the crap out of me. I know these do not happen all the time, so it really is not something to dwell on, just something to keep in mind.

Good luck with your decision!

I really need to do this. I haven't seen ours in about 4 years, since we started everything. In fact, our original advisor left and all of our stuff got transferred to someone else in the office. I've never even seen this person! Do you like yours and would you recommend him/her?

We like where we are.. it is through our bank. But we have a new guy and I really did like him when I met him today. He had some very good ideas and we implemented some of them already!

Thank Janet,
I do think about the earthquakes & obviously I am not thrilled but I know they are not every day (at least bad ones) anyway, we won't know for awhile if he get sit or not. Sounds like a nice place to live but I just don't want to be uprooted right now if that makes sense. & to me California might as well be on Mars its so far from everything I know. I was just on realtor.com looking at houses. Amazing what we could afford out there. The taxes kill us here.

Spanx is really supposed to be comfortable....I've been tempted to get one myself...I may get one for Cassidy and her "girls".

My flowers cost just under $200 for my bouquet, the bridesmaids(5), a flower girl basket, and 7 lapel flowers for the guys. We went with a local, family owned company and they did a beautiful job. My bouquets were simple....peach roses, greenery and baby's breath.....the florist did the most incredible job on mine and I am guessing gave us more than what we paid for because I told him to just have fun with the flowers.

Yeah!! WTG Dana!!

I can't offer advice on California, sorry!!

Janet - speaking of your December trip - did you receive your confirmation in the mail? I noticed I put your city and my state...

Chanon I made my flowers for my wedding, so I am no help with cost.

I'm trying! So far Alyssa and I are beating it, but that will probably change. :sad2:

Its a little better every day, since im getting used t othe class and routines..but im nervous about when i start teaching the entire thing--its going to be a LONG 3.5 months!

I think you'll find that once you are actually doing all the teaching, it will really fly by! At least that's how it was for me. Once I could actually do MY thing, I enjoyed it more, too! The only days I would get nervous was when my advisor came to watch me teach. That was scary!

I wish I could help with flowers, but one of Alan's sisters was a florist, and she did all our flowers for us as a wedding present. It was nice, but she totally ignored everything I wanted and just did what she wanted to do. Grrr. Finally, I just gave up trying to communicate with her and let her do what she wanted. I recently told Alan that he owes me the wedding of my dreams. The only thing I got that I wanted for my wedding was the groom!

My sister and I had a double wedding, and she basically charged in and took over everything. Of course, 18 months later she was divorced, and I got stuck with her ex in all my pictures, etc. Oh well. Maybe for my 25th anniversary, I'll get the party I really wanted!

I've never been to Cali so I'm no help. Sorry. I do have cousins that live in Sacramento and they love it there.
