Well, I think the DDA PD is some powerful stuff!

My labs are normal, and the sonogram of the knots on my neck appear to be large "reactive" lymph nodes - just one chain of them, but no "concerning" characteristics. Since I'm not presenting any other symptoms, and my bloodwork didn't reveal anything, my dr. has just placed me under observation for the time being, and will evaluate whether they want to biopsy in about 3 weeks, should there not be any improvement.

I'll take that as good news for the time being - thanks for being a calming presence last night, and for all the good wishes. It is very much appreciated! :grouphug:

That is GREAT news!!!

Can you have a glass of wine? Cause I think you earned one!!

Theresa -- sounds like you have gotten some good advice on trying for more ME time. I don't know what the weather is like in Colorado right now, but it helps me to take a walk to help clear my head or to exercise. (And the ice cream occasionally works, too!) How about a feel good movie?

Other than those things, all I can think of to do is send you a hug, and lots of PD! :grouphug:

Here's hoping some internal sunshine :sunny: comes your way!
Marci

That does sound like good news. Thanks for giving us an update. Get some rest and have a relaxing evening!

I would definitely take it as good news! Thank heaven you have a doctor that will keep an eye on it. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Has your hubby come home, yet?

Great news! Now you can (as my DH says) Chillax (cross between chill & relax!).

That's great news! :goodvibes What a relief you must feel. I had a small lump growing under the skin in my neck over an extended period of years. Yes, I'm never one of those people that get things checked out. Anyway, my mother noticed it one day and forced me to go to the doctor. It was an enlarged gland or something and they just cut it out to be safe, biopsied it and everything was fine. I'm sure yours was much scarier though, beings as though there were a few.

Glad things worked out ok for you Tinkaroo -- but it is still scary without your DH around to help calm you down. Glad we were able to help a little.

That's great! My brother had the exact same thing, but they were the nodes along his clavicle (chest bone). The doctors thought it was Hodgkin's Disease, so we were thrilled when the surgery was the same diagnosis as you just got. It was so scary! They did go down after a while on their own. Sending you more PD and prayers!!!!! :grouphug:

I'm sitting here in bed DISing, the kids are all piled under the covers with me, and we're watching House Hunters on HGTV (hi, Marti!). This is fun!

Thanks, guys. It's funny how it was a lot easier to admit my apprehension to y'all, rather than my own family. Ironically enough, both of my parents are in town this week (my dad's at a sales meeting, and my mom drove up with him to spend time with other relatives this week - she's coming to my house tomorrow), and I was trying to keep them and my DH from freaking out. (DH is still out of town - in Orlando, another irony!) My mom and aunt even wanted to come to the sonogram with me, but I told them "no." They couldn't have done anything, and immediately afterwards, there wasn't much to report. I'm just glad the doctor doesn't seem worried today like he was yesterday!

It is reassuring, though, when all of the medical professionals I've been around the last couple of days' initial reaction to my neck has been "oh my gosh, I've never seen anything like that!" I think some further "bedside manners" training is in order! :rotfl2:

And Kate - I think I WILL have that glass of wine!!!

Thanks again! :grouphug:

I was watching too - say hi to the mini figs for me!

How are you feeling? Did the medication kick in yet?

Just home. It is Strep and my lungs are all crappy again. I'm on a z-pack, inhalers, and a liquid steroid. She said my throat is almost swollen shut (I've been drooling 'cause I can't swallow well). If it's not better by tomorrow, I may have to do IV antibiotics and steroids. So, I'm going to go take my meds and sit on the couch with the kids. Sure hope DH and the kids don't get it. I have new empathy for all the kids who have Strep (Julia) repeatedly. This really hurts!
:wizard: :grouphug: pixiedust: and prayers for a quick recovery and lopes that the kids and DH don't get it.

Denise - I had mono when I was 16 and it is no fun! Make sure they do plenty of bloodwork. It is just horrible. I was told that once you have mono your blood titers change for the rest of your life. 1) I don't even know what a blood titer is 2) Does the fact that it change effect anything???

DH had mono 2 weeks before our magic cruise in 2004 and was so sick, his bloodpressure was really high and when they took his blood it was pouring out, luckily SIL is a nurse there so she calmed me down after seeing the blood all over the floor and this was the second DH incident at the hospital - the first took 10 yrs off my life.

Kate,

Your t-shirt designs are very cute! We'll find out if it's a boy or a girl on February 28th, so we'll have plenty of time to make t-shirts specified to that gender! :goodvibes

Oh, and I bought Alyssa four t-shirts at Walmart today...Kevin said she didn't need one for every day, since she has some other cute Disney outfits. :confused3

Amy :)

Don't you change her twice a day cause she messes all those mickey bars - more shirts needed!!! :confused3
