Wow! That is awesome. We have another queen in our midst (if it says it in the Passporter, then it is so!) :rotfl: For those of you that don't have a passporter, I'm going to put here what the "Queen of All Planning" has to say.

"Now that our children are older and we have more than 15 family trips to Walt Disney World under our belts, the real draw now seems to be our dining choices! After a few trips with over-the-top food bills we hit on an affordable plan that seems to keep everyone happy. After we decide at which resort we will be staying on our trip, each person puts a main meal choice on a piece of paper and gives it to me. I am the 'Queen of All Planning.' No one is allowed to tell others their choice so that when we get to Disney our lunch or dinner is a surprise to everyone but me. The fun for me is in keeping the surprise!"

This is one of the tips that I had already read and thought was a great one. Our trip is already planned this year but thought I might try it next year. Don't know if it will work for my family because the DD's don't care where they eat (they eat lots of little meals all through the day) and my DH likes to know "the plan". He doesn't have to make the plan but he needs to know the plan. It is one I'll keep in the back of my mind for a future trip.

Congrats! It was a unique idea.

Thanks for posting this - now I don't have to buy the book just to take a look at Elin's quote!!!!

WTG Elin! I also read that tip in the Passporter and thought it was a great idea!

I was in Barnes and Nobles today, so I took a peek at the quote. Great idea!

I was wandering why is it when I am so slow at work no one is posting messages.....but.....if I am busy at work and don't have time to get on for a couple of days I miss like 50 pages.

Anyway..........just hanging out to see what everyone is up to.

Hey lynne - I was thinking the same thing

I made a bunch of valentine's designs if anyone is interested

Kate - I love the Valentine's Day designs. DH and I are going to DL in June to celebrate our 16th anniversary with our best friends (also celebrating their 16th anniversary), and I may ask you to personalize some of the prince/princess ones for us. Of course, it all hinges on whether or not I can talk the two men into wearing shirts. Cross your fingers!

You are amazing, Kate! Your brain just keeps coming up with great ideas! Love them, all!

Didn't Midnite have a birthday party for her daughter this weekend? I'm waiting for details. It sounded like it was going to be so much fun. I could use a happy story on such a gloomy day. We have rain yet again. We can't believe that is is almost February and we still have grass in the yard. This is unheard of in Vermont. Along with the lack of snow we seem to have had a lot more sickness in the schools. It seems a good snow kills a lot of germs (probably just an old wives tale, but who knows). My middle son is home with a fever today. I think I've had at least one of us sick everyday for the last few weeks, nothing serious, but just spreading it between us.

I made a shopping trip to our nearest mall ( 1 1/4 hours away). I was disappointed that there weren't any really good clearance sales going on yet. I did however stop at Kohl's in a nearby town on the way home and was able to get a lot of great deals on clothes for the boys for next winter. Even brand named sneakers for $7. I got winter boots for Hunter and Summer for just $3 per pair. I couldn't believe the great prices. Kitchensink Guy was very impressed. He always likes when I buy ahead as it saves him money in the long run. :thumbsup2

I've been adding some designs to my design thread. I managed a few Christmas designs and have some ideas for Halloween designs. I actually had trouble sleeping last night because all these ideas were running through my head. I have a serious addiction. I think I need a DDAA program :goodvibes

Deb

I'll have to go check out your Halloween designs in a minute. I am excited about finding the designs and actually making shirts this time around!

Well, I'm here on and off. DH is home sick today, so I took some time to run errands without all of the kiddies coming with me. We've been hit by the flu bug this weekend, 2 of my daughter's were throwing up all day Saturday, but seem to be over it by now. I felt a bit ooky yesterday, but I'm fine now. Have to be; can't have both mom and dad down sick!

I love all the new designs that are going on! I can't wait to see what comes next!

HELP!!!! I just got Photoimpact 11, and I cannot figure out how to Paint on the Edge of an image. It says to go to Effect and select Creative- Paint on Edge. There isn't that choice under the "effect" tab. I don't even see a "creative" choice. Am I just missing it? Anyone help me? This is driving me nuts! :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Painting an outline or border

The Paint on Edges command in the Effect menu allows you to easily, quickly, and accurately apply paint along the edges of a selection area or active object, using the Paint Tool that you have selected.

1. Create a selection area using one of the Selection Tools, or select an object or objects.
2. Select the Paint Tool that you want to use for the effect, and define its color as well as other attributes.
3. Select Effect: Creative - Paint on Edges or press [Shift+P]. The edges of the selection or object will be painted with the Paint Tool and attributes that you specified.

Thanks!

I remember reading your tip. I loved it!! It's a great idea to keep things exciting with older kids.

What a great Idea! Congratulations Elin on winning the contest

Hey - didn't Tinkaroo just go down for the weekend?? How was it Tinkaroo??? I'm suffering from post Disney depression... fill us in so that we can all live through you this weekend!!!!

Hello, DDA!!! :wave2:

I hope everyone had a good weekend - I hadn't been on since Thursday, and EEK - you guys were busy for a few days! Between work today, though, I finally got caught up, and thought I would post a quick response. Once I'm done, I'll have to head home, but then I'll get on later tonight - don't want this thread to get away from me again! :rotfl:

:wizard: :grouphug: to all those that have been sick! Wow, there was a lot of that going around. I hope all are better now.

Marti and Skunka - glad to hear you had a great trip! Your pictures were so cute - you guys looked so happy in them!

triplefigs - your post about Rees brought tears to my eyes. I am praying for strength and resolution for you and your family - they deserve the best!

To all those that have taken the designing plunge - WOW! I hope that PhotoImpact begins cooperating, and that the creative juices keep flowing!

Kate - so sorry to see the action you have had to take to protect your designs. It's sad that people would do this. I hope you'll continue to share designs with us from time to time, just so we can see what you've been up to!

:grouphug: and :thumbsup2 to those that do GS troops, CS, cheerleading, etc. I know it has to be frustrating to watch things you've worked so hard on either go by the wayside, or to not get the support you need. DON'T GIVE UP THOUGH!! I can't imagine how much worse things will get if we don't have people continuing to push the envelope and do great things for others, especially children!

Elin - I'm sorry to hear about your mom, and will continue to pray for your family. On a lighter note, I was reading my Passporter just last week, and saw your tip. I thought, I wonder if that's the same Elin, as your name is so unique! I didn't have time to come on and post, and then how funny that you later brought it up. Congrats - and what a great tip!

Bengalbelle - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm not a mommy, but I'm wishing you lots of  and hopefully better health as the pregnancy continues!!

I think that's it (or at least all I could remember from the 60+ pages I read through over the last few hours!) If I forgot anyone, sorry, and hi! :wave2:

I'll post more about our whirlwind of a trip later tonight. We rode EE five times!!!!

If you want a preview of the other part of my trip, you can check out my siggie... :rolleyes1

How funny - I just posted! Fill you in on the trip a little later tonight!

I just saw! Love your signature picture.... ours never came out that good!

Hi everyone. I am back home, but it seems that I need to quit going out of town. Last time I came back and the thread was shut down, or close to it. This time I came back and Kate is no longer designing. Kate, I hope whatever problems you have quickly become resolved. I thank you for all of your inspiration, generosity and great ideas that helped turn our trip into magical memories. I will support whatever decision that you make, and I hope that we, the DDA community, does not lose your friendship.

Well, we had a nice weekend visiting with my parents. Saturday my mom and I took the kids roller-skating. It is such a blast from the past for me to go there. Nicholas does really well, but Alyssa is all over the floor and won't let go of anyone's hands. She just wants to go fast, but can't even stand up on her own.

Yesterday we all went to see Narnia. Both of my kids, and all us adults, really enjoyed it. There were a few moments when I said to myself "I don't think my kids should be seeing this", but I don't think that they realize what the "violence" is. We as adults know, but to them it is just a movie.

Tammie, glad you had a good weekend. I would love to go roller skating. I have not been in several years but use to take my two older ones quite often. We all used to love to skate.
