Marti - I did not read that recipe and did not realize that it needed an ice cream maker

here is a recipe with the blender

Pineapple 'dole" whips

Prep: 10 min.

Freeze: 3 hrs.

Makes: 8 servings

2 cans (20 oz. each) DOLE Crushed Pineapple

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons lime juice

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, mini marshmallow or mini chocolate chips, (optional)

1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped

Drain pineapple; reserve 2 tablespoons juice. Set aside.

Place pineapple, lemon juice, lime juice, sugar and reserved pineapple juice in blender or food processor container. Cover; blend until smooth. Stir in cherries or marshmallow or chips, if desired.

Pour into two 1-quart freezer zipped bags. Store bags flat in freezer. Freeze about 1-1/2 hours or until slushy.

Stir gently pineapple slush into whipped cream until just blended, in large bowl. Return to freezer until completely frozen, about 1 hour. Serve.

I've just spent the day in my wedding dress again - we had a vow renewal at the registry office for DH's parents - it was a surprise for them - they thought we were having a family portrait session at a studio and DBIL took them to the registry office to meet us. It was a lovely ceremony and we went for dinner after. It was freezing cold outside so we didn't get many pictures - but the ones we got were nice. DB was the photographer. Here's a link if anyone fancies a look: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2111788297

:)

Oh and my DB finally gave me his wedding pics - so I have uploaded those too... careful there are quite a few!

What fun! I would have loved to spend a second day in my wedding dress

Thanks for sharing the pictures.... they were beautiful, and what a nice surprise! :goodvibes

Thanks -

my day just when from bad to horrible

I called DH and asked him to bring me home my favorite ice cream - and he comes home with black raspberry chip - not regular chocolate chip - seriously if you want to see a girl in deep depression - it would be me at this moment

Now wait a minute..... from Graeter's? Because girl, there is NOTHING better than black raspberry chip from there! Mmmmmm....... that sounds awesome. I love all their 'chip' flavors, though..... although CHIP does not quite describe the chocolate that comes in those things!

ETA: I do you hope feel better though. I definitely understand not getting what you think is coming..... it is depressing! Especially when you aren't feelign well :guilty:

the final three will be Lisa, Drew and Stacy

I think it will come down to a close vote between Drew and Stacy

I think he was very complimentary to the other dancers and said that the others deserved to be there more than him

We got Rees' final denial today for the Medicaid. It's been a rough afternoon, and I've been in tears. I feel defeated at the moment, and I promised myself when they were born and had so many problems that I would never quit fighting for them. It is just so hard sometimes. BUT, DH and I have resolved to do whatever necessary to fight for Rees' rights and to win no matter the financial cost. It is our job to protect and fight for him when he cannot. It won't be an easy road, so I'd appreciate any and all prayers for our family. My children are the absolute most important thing in my life, and I will not let Rees down. We will hire a Medicaid Lawyer on Monday and put down a retainer. Then we request a court hearing with a family law judge. I still haven't heard from PBS, so PD that works out as well.

Oh Denise, I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how stressful that must be. Please know that you are in our prayers, keep us posted, and know that - as Deb mentioned - we will do ANYTHING we can for you, if they think testimonial letters, etc will help your cause. Or a letter to PBS, that might be more effective(?) Let us know!

We love you and your family!! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Jennifer - someone started a thread yesterday looking for your kiss the chef design - she leaves in the morning

it might be too late - but you might try to post it or email it to her

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1012469

I just went to the thread, thanks. We have emailed back and forth, so I'm not sure what's going on.... I sent it again though :confused3

Thanks for letting me know!

ETA: It's not actually my design, by the way. I wish I could take credit for it, but it was posted a while back.... maybe on a fly-by post, because I don't think it was a "regular" ;)

Original Designer - If it was you, come out and play again, or claim your work! :rotfl:

:grouphug: Hugs and good wishes to you, Denise, and you, Kate. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

We're here for you. Good luck with your lawyer on your appeals. Everyone deserves the right to medical care and it shouldn't be such a battle to provide it for our families. What is this country turning into? It's time for our government to be forced to provide for it's citizens and unfortunately the fight that you are fighting is not only for Rees but for thousands of people. Let me know if I can help in any way. :grouphug: :wizard:

Wait a minute!!! You've been holding out on me - there's one in Cleveland?? That's only about 4 hours from here - half way from our two houses....

so, whaddaya doin tomorrow ? :teeth:

SO. I just got back from a high school basketball game (where I used to coach cheerleading (and also graduated from)). Some of you may remember my struggle and ultimate decision to give up coaching for the time being with my preceptorship, class load, residency thing, etc. It was so hard, but I have realized a hundred times over that it was absolutely necessary.

Well, I'm ticked. The girl that took over is a girl I cheered with in high school, and someone I knew fairly well. On our way there, I mentioned to Kyle that I questioned the skill level that would be presented to the squad (especially stunting, etc with no college experience (and we weren't allowed to stunt in HS)), but I did not once question anything else like discipline, etc.

Boy was I in for a big surprise. I got there, and 4 of the 8 girls had quit. No joke, there were FOUR girls on the floor at a Varsity basketball game. Red flag #1. They didn't look great, but I wasn't hypercritical because -- there were only 4 of them. There's only so much you can do, and you can only have so much enthusiasm when you feel kind of silly out there with such little numbers. But the coach did not ONCE, not ONE time talk with them. No meeting before the game, no practices, no running through anything one last time. Well, maybe they are well prepared. Then she didn't meet with them once during half time! Not when it first started, so I assumed she'd meet back up at the 2:00 mark before 3rd quarter (she told me that's when they had to be back). Not one of them was back at the 2:00 mark and.... NOTHING! Then she complains to me at how they take advantage of her and are never back on time. Ya' think?!?! If it were me, they'd have been busted the first time!

How are you supposed to expect improvement when you don't TALK TO YOUR SQUAD?! Not a word was said on the way out either. ZERO communication. ZIP!

I was in such an odd position because every single girl, both still cheering and not gave me an earful about how much they hate cheering and are never doing it again. :sad2:

What was I supposed to say?! I'm not going behind their coach's back and telling them that I totally agree, it looks like she sucks!!!! So I just smiled and changed the subject.... but boy, was I mad. I loved those girls like they were my stinkin' CHILDREN (albeit, quite old for my children :rotfl: ) and I worked my butt off for that program :furious:

Ok, done venting. I was just shocked. Still am.

Kyle and I had a great night though, dinner and the game. He loves those boys, too (just from watching the last few seasons), so that was nice.

I don't have any right to say anything do I, outside the walls of my own home?

It's hard to see something you've worked so hard building go down like that. :grouphug:

HUGS Jennifer

I was a cheerleading coach in a program where the girls did not have the desire to be cheerleaders - talk about hard and frustrating!! I understand wanting a program to be successful and it being out of your control
