let me tell you about a conversation I had with nancy's ten year old two weeks ago

I could tell she was irritated and I asked her what was wrong - in her best irritated ten year old voice she tells me

"mom told me she would help me clean my room but everytime I need her she is on the DISboards!!"

I told her that Uncle Steve could commiserate with her

she said - "well I can see why!!!"

Amy, what is your favorite restaurant? OMG I miss Cincinnati! I live in a small town now, not many places to eat out at all. And now we can’t return to one of our favorites, because Julia threw up all over it Saturday!!! And the reservations were in my name!!! UGG!!

Well, considering the last time my water broke, I was in my classroom (thank goodness my students had left), anything can happen. However, I truly hope you don't capture this on video.

Kevin has two meetings tonight. He's supposed to swing by with some Wendy's in between meetings, but I guess I should take Alyssa upstairs and make her something a little more nutritious.

I think Zac Efron is a cutie pie!!!

This is making me laugh so hard, because you sound just like my 12-1/2 year old daughter and her friends, except they think Zac is HOT instead of a cutie pie. They are all talking about when it's on next and who has it taped already. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but we did tape it last night.

Good gracious it has been that long!! I remember it because I was home from school on a "mental health" day(home sick from school because I was sick of school). Makes me feel old also.

I looked for you, Beth. Check Airtran out of Buffalo. I don't know what dates you are looking at, but I plugged in the 19th-26th (Sat to Sat) and came up with $207. You will prob be able to get a good deal on Southwest out of Albany or Buffalo, if you can wait until they release their fares for August.

Thanks, Tammi! I have never even heard of Airtran. I did go to the Southwest site before, but they are only booking through June 6th. I'll be sure to check out Airtran as well. In some ways I'd like to drive, but dh really doesn't want to do that. And I'm not sure the old van would make it!

Brantley-Kate is feeling a little better today. Her temp was down this am, so I'm praying that part is over. Her face is still beet red and she's covered in the rash.

Haven't heard from my MIL yet about the surgery, so I'll keep you posted.

I called Rees' therapy clinic this am to see if they'd let PBS film him at therapy, and they were checking with the owners for approval. PD please that PBS pics us and that we get a chance to tell our story!

I am so glad that Brantley-Kate is feeling better. Prayers and pixie dust coming your way for PBS.

Whew! Thanks to everyone who is chiming in with the airfare support (I still feel silly stressing over it with the events going on in the other DDA lives )

BE PATIENT!!!! I purchased one-way on Airtran from Atlanta to Miami last week. Now the same flight is actually $50 cheaper. Our trip in 3/31 so that goes to show the best rates are w/in 90 days of your flight.

$50 x 4 people = $200.....grrrrrgrrrr

That's why I have to be strong and never again check airfare prices once I've made the purchase. I drive myself (and dh) completely nuts looking for airfare. I just can't do it to myself after it's all said and done.

I just had a little bit of sprite - I will see if it stays down - my stomach has finally stopped hurting constantly - but since i had the sprite it is a little unsettled

You know over here we use the word flu to refer to a bad cold - I think you guys use it to refer to a stomach upset?

There are two things around here that are referred to as the flu. True flu is a virus that is fever, chills, upper respiratory symptoms, etc. Stomach flu is the throwing up virus.

All this talk about High School Musical brings up a running theme in our house.

Cassidy (13) is constantly talking about a boy in her class ...."Jake loves this Disney show, Jake and I were just talking about this Disney movie.....yada yada...Jake".

I asked her point blank if Jake is her boyfriend a couple of times....no but it would be nice is her answer. Now I never did get into Middle School romances but if you talk to a boy EVERY day wouldn't he be considered a boyfriend?

I told her to invite him over for dinner and disney some night (we have done this in the past for some of her friends that were boys)...she's mortified that I would embarass her.

A teenage boy that loves Disney as much as this boy seems to, couldn't be bad could he?

I know all about this with my dd who will be 13 in August. My dd doesn't have a boyfriend, but several of her friends change who they are "going out" with (which basically means they sit together and lunch and talk at school) constantly.

By the way, I have also found out by driving the swimming carpool that Rupert Grint (Ron from Harry Potter movies) is extremely hott (yes, there are two t's at the end of that word when used in the extreme). And British accents are "sexy."

At this stage they don't have boyfriends/girlfriends. They have what are referred to as "crushes". As in, "he's not my boyfriend, he's my crush."

Were we like this at that age?? I'm so embarassed.

It's definitely boyfriend/girlfriend here or she's "going out" with him, though they don't actually go anywhere other than school.
