I want to thank all of you for the tidbits on the Golden Globes...I made the mistake of going to my first Creative Memories "party" (mistake for my pocketbook I should say :rotfl2: ) I have so many pictures that need to be developed and scrapbooked!! Never caught the bug of having to scrapbook until last night :rotfl: .

The girls and I usually watch all award shows not for the winners but for the clothes and hair so thanks again!!

Now off to find the motivation thread. :cool1:

Good morning Clare! I couldn't sleep - I'm up with pain from what I hope is just a urinary tract infection. I don't get them often, so I'm not sure if that is all it is. The pain is kicking the crap out of me - so I thought I'd check in to see how everybody is doing.

I missed DDA/Golden Globes - I was on with my college roommate discussing where she was taking me for lunch for my birthday - God I love eating out! :teeth: I hope you all had a good time - I hadn't seen most of the movies mentioned, or half the television shows!!

Are you planning a trip to your doctor for antiobiotics soon? A UTI is no fun, especially while travelling. I just passed another kidney stone a couple of days ago, so I'm on the lookout for a UTI. They frequenly follow my kidney stones. By the way, I'm up to kidney stone number 7 in the last 9 years.

Hello My DDA Friends..............I have been very busy the last couple of days and I have only been on to try and keep up with what is going on. I hope I haven't missed anything important. If I have please let me know.

I took DH to the airport on Saturday and he is coming back Wednesday night. He is my best friend so functioning with two boys seems impossible sometimes. But I know he is having a great time. I gave him a roundtrip ticket to Montana (Yellowstone) to go snowmobiling with some other "guy friends". They have gone the last two years and he always says we never have the extra money so this year I made sure he went. He has called everyday to say thanks so that is all that matters.

I will try to keep up at work today..........looking forward to the morning Skunka song.

Gotta finish getting the boys on the bus 1st..........Lynn

Lynn I know how you feel. My DH is my best friend in the world! I hate it when he's gone. I don't sleep well, or anything. It seems harder to deal with the kids without him as well.

Just know that your DDA family are here for you! We want to be helpful!

Yuck! Hope you feel better. I had 2 ER visits, 3 surgeries, one ICU stay, and another regular hospital stay all within a 3 month time frame last summer due to 4 kidney stones. Not fun! And let me tell you, they were the most painful things ever! Drink lots of fluid and take care!

I hope no one minds or is offended, but I feel the need to brag on my DH a little bit today. I don't know how large the news story of the space capsule "Stardust" landing last weekend was where you all live, but here is was huge! My DH is a field photographer for a local news station, and was sent to the landing site to cover the story. Unfortunately, the weather report wasn't so good and the forecast was for cloudy and snowy. DH had to be there at 3:00 a.m., and he left me at 10:30 the night before, to give himself time for the 3 hour drive plus any snow and ice he might encounter.

He was the first photographer to arrive, and the NASA people gave him a prime site. Other news stations started to arrive, but none of them set up their equipment because they all thought the cloud cover and snow would hamper their visibility. DH, however, was all set up and ready to go. Finally, about 3 minutes before the re-entry, the snow stopped, the clouds shifted and there was clear sky. The capsule appeared in a large fireball with a tail streaming out behind it and DH was the ONLY photographer that captured it! The NASA people couldn't get their camera out until much later, and none of the other news stations got it on film at all. After it was all over, everyone was scrambling to get DH's film from him. The Discovery Channel wants it for a special they are airing later this month, CNN wants it, NASA wants it, etc. DH was a little bummed, because he can't sell the film. It legally belongs to the station he works for. If he had just been filming on his own time, he could have sold it for quite a bit of money.

However, I'm so proud of him! He takes such pride in his work! Thanks for letting me brag a little. I'm sorry if this is inappropriate!

That's wonderful, Glynis. Can you give us a sneak peak???

I am getting to be quite a pro with kidney stones! Before the surgery, I had stockpiled a bunch of heavy meds and would take them the minute I felt the beginning pains (not a pain you ever forget!). Since the surgery, I can't take those meds. I went to the hospital not for this stone, but the one before it, and they gave me a prescription for some meds I CAN take. When I felt the pain hit the other day, I immediately took the meds and made it through without freaking my kids out with screaming, and going to the hospital! That's a good thing. Now, I'm just hoping that a UTI is not in my future. I'm drinking a ton of water and hoping all will be well.

By the way, Denise, it's great to see you again. I love the picture of your family in your siggie! DH saw it last night, and commented on how neat it was to see you all matching. He also said your triplets are the most darling kids he's seen! Just thought you might like to know that!

that is very cool!!! I did hear about it = now when I see the film I will think of you!!

If I were your DH - I would make sure the station knows his market value just went up - I would seriously hope that if the station sells the tape that they will give him some sort of bonus!!!!!

I wish I could. They showed the clips on our local station on Sunday. After that, they put the film away under lock and key, until they decide what to do with it.

I'm just hoping it means a pay raise for DH. He works so hard, and they take so much advantage of him. They know his work is head and shoulders above all the other photogs, so they work him really hard. But, he's gotten to do some neat stuff. He's been to Jerusalem twice, he crossed the ocean on a tall sailing ship from Denmark to New York (even climbed up to the top of the tallest mast with his camera in tow), filmed the Salt Lake Olympics, and is scheduled to go to the China Olympics in 2008. He's getting a ton of experiences.

Thanks, for the sweet comments. So your DH is sweet and talented! A keeper.

Hope the stones stay away for you now. I hope I never have another stent in my life. They couldn't take it out fast enough. And I have a stock pile of meds too!

He needs to start marketing some of these wonderful accomplishments!

I totally will! NASA was so grateful that someone was able to get good pictures of the capsule coming down that they gave him a small, clear cube with some of the gel they used to capture the spacedust. It looks really cool. Apparently, they got samples of space dust that dates back to the formation of the universe. I can't even fathom that!

I hope you're going with him to China! Now that would be cool.

How neat. My kids are studying the solar system now. They would find that fascinating (I do too).

He does have his own freelance company: Video Utah Productions. He's done business videos for companies, commercials, infomercials, wedding videos, etc. He loves doing that and would love to be able to do it full time, but right now the station gives us benefits we can't get anywhere else. So, for now, he works 2 full time jobs so that I can stay home and raise our kids. What an unselfish guy! He truly is my best friend!

I'll start checking around and see what the news stories said and send you the links for your kids if you want. I imagine you can also check out NASA's website, if they have one, for their official stuff. They are saying it's going to answer a lot of questions about the timeline of the universe, etc.

Bye ladies. I need to head out for awhile. Have a good afternoon.
