I agree. I'd be hardput not to put the DH out for that one. :headache:
I am so glad you all agree -

i can't believe Dr. Phil did not call him out for that -

I think they have pretty serious marital issues!

I am betting they get divorced!

*Warning* this is going to be long.
This is not the time or the way that I wanted to announce...but...I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant :) . Unfortunately, this pregnancy is not going as smoothly as my first. I'm miserable and hoping someone here has some answers.

First of all, for the past few days I haven't been able to sleep. I don't fall asleep until after midnight, then I'm awake on and off throughout the night. Even when I do fall asleep I'm aware that I'm not in a "good" sleep. I'm averaging 4-5 hours of sleep per night (and that is interrupted sleep).

Secondly I have a horrible headache on the left side of my head. I'm kind of stuffy so I figure that is part of the reason for the headache. The other reason is lack of sleep. By bedtime the headache is so bad I think it is part of the reason I can't go to sleep. Then it hurts worse because I'm not getting enough sleep :(.

I also have been breaking out in what Kate and I figure are hives. I'm not 100% sure about that since I didn't have them when I went to the Dr. They started a few days after I found out I was pregnant, and come and go.

So this is what I've tried for the headache - Tylenol and Benadryl. Didn't do a thing. Breathe Right nasal strips to help with the stuffiness. It helps a little.

For the insomnia - Tylenol and Benadryl. The Benadryl helped me fall asleep faster, but I was awake within an hour and a half of going to sleep.

Hives - Benadryl and Cortisone cream.

Once I started looking at everything I realized many of these problems seem stress/worry related. I'm a worrier and stress about everything, so this wouldn't be unusual.

So what am I stressed about? At first I thought nothing. Then I realized I've been sort of anxious since I found out I was pregnant. Don't get me wrong - this we wanted this and we're very happy - I just don't have the same over the moon sense of joy that I did with Christopher. I guess I'm worried about how another child will affect our family. We can afford another baby, but finances are still on my mind. Someone please (honestly) tell me this is normal.

I am also on prescription meds for chronic conditions. My dr. has assured me that he has patients on these meds all of the time, but all 3 at once?? I'm anxious that me taking the meds are going to affect the baby (I did do pre-pregnancy counseling/planning and the dr. said they were OK, I just still worry).

I am also due right when Christopher will be starting Kindergarten. We're also changing schools, so he won't have any of his friends from his current school there. He will be fine, but I worry that a new sibling, new school, Kindergarten is going to be tough for him.

So...everything is out there now. Can anyone say anything that will make me feel better?

How about techniques for relaxing?

Any home remedies for stuffy nose/headaches/insomnia???

I'm sorry to be such a downer. I just feel awful!

I know everyone will offer their remedies so here goes.

Sometimes when I have a really bad migraine, I have this little pillow I put over my eyes and I just lay there and sometimes I am able to fall asleep. It is lavender scented and it is just the right weight to press on my eyes and temple. When I was able to afford massages and would have a headache, my massage therapist would start with some eucalyptus rubbed on her hands and she would stroke my face, then rub lavender on her hands and let me breathe it in and then continue with the massage. I cannot tell you how much it helped me relax and the headache would go away. I have noticed except for this recent bout that Zicam worked with the stuffiness I had right before New Years day.
As for moving and starting new schools I moved about 14 times in nine years when I was young and there is no easy way to do it. I would always look for someplace in the new home that I could call my own. Kinda hard to do with 3 sisters and one brother, but I was lucky. He might have fun doing a scrap book with pictures and memories from the old place and stories about the new place. Maybe setting up his own calendar with things to look forward to each week as it gets closer.

Yeah, I second that!

Cool. It worked! Thanks. I can't believe that I have 150+ posts on this thread alone. Seriously, thanks for being such a great group. I never, ever in a million years thought I would post on a forum (let alone become "addicted").

We are not crazy, we are not crazy, we are not crazy!

Anyone believe that yet??!! :rotfl:

ETA: had to fix my spelling!

Whew...finally I am all caught up. You guys went on a posting spree while I was at the salon getting my hair done. There is nothing more relaxing than a massaging shampoo!

I don't care if I go crazy - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, switch

Crazy go I if care don't I - 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, switch

I don't care if I go crazy - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, switch

Crazy go I if care don't I - 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, switch

...

Oops Sorry! This got stuck in my head with all the talk about being crazy! It's a song we sing at Girl Scout camp.

Wow, you guys are having a posting Party tonight and I had to work.

Dawn. I'm sure that you are feeling a bit overwhelmed now, but you have a lot of really exciting things to look forward to. The kindergarten adjustment was not difficult for my sons. We do not have preschool as part of the school system so Kindergarten mixes all new kids here. Really no problem at all. My oldest son was so excited to be a big brother and we had talked about it a lot prior. Same situation when third was born. We had no resentment issues or acting out and there was just more love from all of us. Finances always seem to work out somehow. Even when things are tight we find ways to get by. I think those came up as your top concerns and while they will weigh on your mind they are small concerns in the scope of things. I never had sleep deprivation issues while pregnant, but since I had horrible morning, afternoon and evening sickness through all 8 - 9 months of all 3 pregnancies I have lots of experience with meds while pregnant. There were not any good anti nausea meds on the market with my first couple of pregnancies so my Doctor recommended a concoction of vitamin B6 with Unisom. It helped with the nausea some, but definately made me sleep. So unisom must be ok for pregnancies. With the third child I got to try out several different anti nausea meds (some for cancer patients) and they all had the side effect of putting me to sleep. So long story short, don't suffer with the sleep loss. Talk to your doctor immediately and get some relief. Once you get some sleep those other issues will seem much easier to deal with.

For all of you that immediately fit back into your prepregnancy jeans...I should really really hate you. It took me 10 years from first getting pregnant to getting back to my pre pregancy size and I still haven't lost all the weight. Since I threw up during all of my pregnancies my doctors encouraged me to eat, constantly. I gained 60 lbs with my first, lost 30 and was pregnant again, lost that 30 and over the next 4 years added 10 lbs just cause. I have no idea what I topped off at before my 3rd delivery as I threw the scales out. After #3 was born and I lost the initial baby weight I weighed 193 lbs and wore a size 18. Finally realizing that I will never go through another pregnancy I started diet and exercise and mananged to get back into a size 10. I am still hoping to see 130 lbs. I am so jealous that some of you wore jeans shortly after delivery. Oh well, that's life I guess.

Marti and Skunka. Sounds like you had a wonderfully exhausting trip. Did you have a slo comfortable screw for me?

Sick update. I'm feeling much better. My nephew has had the high fever and nausea for 4 days this week, my neice came down with it today and since my brother had to have wrist surgery today they both spent the day here. Brother's surgery went well, but he came out of it to nausea and vomiting. They don't know if it is from the surgery or if he has the virus that his kids have. I guess that I can look forward to my household having it soon. What can you do, couldn't turn down family. I had people cancelling reservations at the restaurant for this weekend as their household are sick. It seems like an epidemic.

I hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did. I'm sorry and hello.

Deb

Hey Marti, I saw you post that you were a Girl Scout. So was I (and am now a lifetime member). It has made a major difference in my girls lives (and mine). We go to camp every summer for two weeks. It is my second most relaxing time of the year (the first is our Disney trip). I have done some amazing things that I would never have done if I hadn't joined with the kids. I'm a cabin counselor, lifeguard, high ropes instructor, and canoe/kayak instructor because they needed them one year (not bad for a 40+ year old). It is amazing to see the kids blossom at camp. Especially when they end up loving something that they were terrified of. Many instances of that in the high ropes course (it is 30 feet in the air) and kayaking (those buggers are tippy if you aren't used to them).

Congratulations! I had itching and hives the first trimester of my pregnancies. My body adjusting to the pregnancy hormones. It went away by second trimester. I'm not sure benadryl is safe, my dr. put me on something else for it. Might want to check with your dr.? :confused3 Relaxation tapes with soothing sounds great for insomnia I also take warm(not hot) bath with relaxing aromatic bathstuff, lavendar is one. Headaches you should have checked out by dr. as sometimes they can point to a medical problem. Hope it helps, and that you feel better soon. pixiedust:

Chick Fil A is a delicious fast food restaurant. They have chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, chicken nuggets, salads, fabulous coleslaw, sweet tea, and homemade lemonade. The food is yummy and addictive!

Our best friends just moved to Oregon, and they are miserable without it. We actually ship it to them on dry ice!

Really where in OR? They didn't pick a good time to move here, rainy overcast and downright saddening. Oh to see the sun. :faint:

I was a girl scout -- but only when I was a younger version of myself!!

Well preparing for another long night. DH and I put Ephram to bed last night at 9 and he managed to cry until 1AM :guilty: I kept patting his back and talking softly while he was in his bed than leave come back after a little bit, etc. I think I cried harder than he did. Hopefully, tonight goes better as I have a horrible migraine/nausea and don't know if I can manage. Our DS Zachary finally got to the eye dr. and now has to wear a patch and glasses. He didn't even like me trying to put the patch on, so this seems like it's going to be rough the first couple days. Next, we have to schedule Zack to see a specialist about the autism testing he had at school. What I wouldn't give for a sunny day to cheer me up. :sad2:

Marti and Paul Glad your trip went well.
Hope everyone gets over these illnesses.
And as far as the weight I put a whole bunch on after delivery. A year later found out my thyroid wasn't working, now trying to get the medication levels right and diet at the same time.

Hope everyone who is sick gets better soon!

Welcome Home Marti and Skunka! Sounds like a nice trip so far.. party:

I had Chick-fil-a while I was visiting my son and his wife. You should have seen me! I tuned through 3 lanes of traffic as soon as I saw the sign!

Tammi, I am an obssessed planner too. Don't get me started! Oh, its okay, I'm already started!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

First question... I've never stayed at any DVC esorts, so I'm a newbie. Help!!!

I'm going early December. Not interested in swimming. Love going out to eat. :stir: :stir: :stir: Currently I have ressies at my home SSR. Bought it site unseen.... :yay: :yay:

Should I just stay there the week, and leave my sister sleep on the sofa bed. I heard they were the sweedish foam? Anybody confirm?

I would love to be at BWL, just for the resturants that I've never been to. Beaches and Cream, Fying Fish, Cape May Buffet... ESPN (is that non-smoking??) Walk to EPCOT and Le Cellier, Rose and Crown, French place....

Or... should I do OKW for the 2 queen beds? I understand it is quite there, but will she see any Disney? SSR has the view of DTD. BWL has the Boardwalk and EPCOT amd MGM, the little boats.... All that jazzd.

What does OKW have that makes it Disney??? From what I've seen, it looks like Florida, but golf course type..... Key Westy type Florida, not WDW Florida... I think.... Will we be immersed in the magic there? It is actually my firstchoice. Lowest points. 2 queen beds. Good transportation. Is it far, far away from everything???

Oh, I need help....... pixiedust: :thanks: :rainbow:

Help me. :hippie: :surfweb:
