I traveled with all of these people before. I'm still really upset and most mad at myself for inviting the extra couple. I really should have known that that would have really changed the dynamics of the group and shifted the focus off Joe. I changed my plans to suit them and now I'm mad that we didn't get to do all I wanted Joe to get to do. I'll get over it and I have learned a lesson. I won't ever be afraid to travel alone again.

We were at Epcot our last night and Joe had just 2 more countries to finish up on his passport. They said they wanted to go back to the hotel (for free drinks and dessert at concierge). I said Joe & I will run ahead and get the last stamp in his passport at Canada. They had my stroller with all their purchases in it. So we rush ahead and are getting it stamped when they call me on my cell phone saying they were heading back right now. I was so :furious: Joe wasn't doing a mask so it was not taking more than a minute or 2. They thought it was OK to leave me with a tired child to traverse the 2 monorail ramps without MY stroller???? This was supposed to be a trip for Joe and they couldn't wait 2 minutes for me? I made them wait for me, got my stroller and sent them on their way. Joe & I took our time walking out of the park-getting a few more photopass photos taken along they way. I know Joe had a great time and he hasn't mentioned much about what he missed-Small World (they wouldn't go near it), Mexico boat ride (they made sure we walked around the other way so he wouldn't ask to go on it), only saw the Epcot story teller in China-I was hoping to see all of them or at least a few more, Figment, Snow White, Spaceship Earth......It wasn't all their fault. We lost a few hours of precious park time due to the flight delay and I was the one who made the Sat dinner reservation (I would have prefered to have gotten something quick to eat rather than spend 2+ hours on a sit down meal). I need to get some sleep-I've had insomnia the past few weeks and I'm sure I'll feel better after the stress of the holidays but I still don't think I'll be rushing to do any more trips with friends if I have a child of mine along.

I'm sorry to hear that, Bernadette! That's why my rule is immediate family only on our Disney trips. We don't get to go often enough to have a less than perfect trip. And I need to do things MY way when we're at Disney.

Hi, all! I haven't been on in a while, and I this is where it started me when I clicked "first unread". I'm sure that I've missed many, many pages, but I won't have time to go back.

:wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: to all.

Hi Kate! Good luck with the challenge :wizard:

Hey guys

I can't even tell you all how much I miss hanging around here

Good Morning!

I will third what Elin and Tammi said to Elizabeth!

Get your tree lit and decorated already!

Today is Kitty day. In some ways I almost dread it. Like I said before, I am not much for major changes, and I have a feeling this is going to take me some time to get used to.

We are celebrating Christmas with my family today. Since I stayed on here and played last night, I now have to get busy this morning.

Kate, good to see you here. We have missed you. I was tempted to sign up for the Whoopsidoodle thing, but I knew that I wouldn't have that much free time to dedicate to it.

Tammi, safe travels today!

Becky, thanks for the E-card!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, DDA!! :)

I had no intention of being up this early, but my alarm went off and the cat threw up (the old cat, not the evil cat) at exactly the same time so I just decided to get up.

Terry - Love your pic with Tink! Sorry about Rusty. :guilty: I hope your arm feels better soon!

Stephanie - Glad you are hanging in there! How's the possum?

Bernadette - I'm sorry your friends weren't very considerate! I got an e-mail from a friend yesterday saying she might plan to go to WDW when we go in August next year. DH is going to throttle me. But this friend and I had dinner shortly after my trip this year and I told her how frustrated we got with our friends. (She knows who they are - we have all done charity stuff together.) Hopefully she remembers enough of that conversation that we won't have the same issues.

Kate - Good to hear from you! These challenges are just nuts! I can't believe how much time and energy the teams are investing. We miss you!

Tammi & Elin - Thanks for the trees! Now we don't have to worry with the real one - we can just gather 'round the monitor! :rotfl2:

Good Morning!

Not really since I was up most of the night for no apparent reason. But have a good day everyone.

Thank you for the E-Card Heidi.

Elin and Anne Marie-It is federal law that all children be provided with an appropriate education for their situation, this includes gifted and when either learning disabilities and/or giftedness occurs an IEP is written up at a meeting with the parents, counselor and not always though the teacher. The teacher should receive a copy of the IEP each year and they need to be updated, can't recall how often. Here is a link to the guide to IEP on www.ed.gov, I'm not sure if this is the exact link you need for the information that you need however I need to get to work and don't have the time to find it right now.

Hi everyone, so good to see a lot of people posting.

I have not been posting much but have been reading right along.

To anyone who has had someone pass on, my heart goes out to you in your time of need :grouphug:

For all of us with aches and pains, the only thing that keeps me going are the pain meds :goodvibes

To everyone else :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:   :wave2:

I did all of my shopping on Saturday. Bought everyone gift cards and a few little things. Even found a tree at target for only $12

I was getting into the Christmas mood but it seems my youngest son has decided to be really dumb with his money and work. For crying out loud he is 27 and I am ready to ask him to leave. We let him come back home but he is past the leaving time.

Going to WDW was the best time I ever had. I am still working on getting my pictures ready and post my trip report. I am having problems with my arm and being on the computer a lot really gets it to hurting a lot. Not sure what the problem is but I think it is something like tennis elbow. I am trying to get a doctor appt before Christmas and our trip down to WV.
It was very emotional going to the Goofy Statue and leaving a rose for June. I was really moved by the tile.
I must share this picture with you. I was holding the rose and it looks like Tink is also holding the rose.

My sister had to put her dog Rusty down today. He was going into Kidney failure and was having heart problems. So that was very emotional for me too. Here he is with Thomas when I visited her after the DC trip. Stephanie absoutely loved him. He was the only dog besides her Grandpug that not affect her allergies.

Then when I came home today, I opened the card from Vicki. I could not even talk when I was trying to explain the tears to my DH.

Vicki I am so touched by the card and bookmarks. I will treasure that forever.

I have enjoyed all of the cards and ecards. Thank you all so very much.

One last thing. Here is the picture of Chucky and I sitting IN the cockpit of the plane.

Aren't pain meds great. I don't know what I would do without them. I hope they get you fixed up quickly.

:grouphug: :grouphug: On the loss of your sister's dog. I know how hard that can be. We still shed tears daily over the loss of our two.

I can't wait for a trip report or at least cliff notes :teeth:

Since I am so naive...what's in a Alabama Slammer....my daughter was tattling on me making it sound like I'm a lush or something because I have drank about a dozen drinks this year....hey if they stop carding, I start drinking!! :teeth:

An Alabama Slammer is a fruitilicious drink. Slo Gin, Southernr Comfort and vodka mixed with orange juice. If it is shaken it is an Alabama Slammer, if it is stirred it is a Slo Comfortable Screw :thumbsup2

I think that is a lesson that we've all learned at one time or another. I now just do what I want and they can come if they like or they can do their own things. That way no one can complain.

Deb

I'm off to shower and pay bills. Be back later.

Deb

BTW: Thank you Janet for the e-card.

Hmm. I don't think I want to rewrite the "Love Boat" theme. My tree is still naked, none of my gifts are wrapped, heck, I'm not even finished shopping. And it is POURING rain today. :guilty: Of course I am getting so much accomplished while I sit here on the computer! :rotfl:

Aurora has been very "sniffly" this morning. I am worried that she is getting sick. This happened back in the Spring. She started sneezing over and over, then she got lethargic and her eyes got all watery. The vet said she has feline herpes (which I never even heard of), which she probably contracted in the shelter because they didn't keep any of the cats in cages. In cats it is a respiratory thing. She was horribly sick for about 10 days. We took her in to see the vet twice. DH had to force feed her with a syringe. She is an evil kitty, but I don't want her to be sick, so if anyone has some pixie dust for her to be well I would appreciate it. :wizard:
