Good morning, all!
I've been trying to catch up a bit. I've been going quickly, though, so I'm sure that I've missed some things.
Glynis, sending my prayers for your neighbors.
Anne Marie, I loved your photos! The Santa place at Macy's is beautiful! I've never had any desire to go to Las Vegas either, but your photos and report made me re-think that.
Tammi, the photo of your kids with Santa is gorgeous! I agree that you are a strong woman and that you should be very proud of all that you are accomplishing. Nicholas and Alyssa are very lucky to have you. Belated HaPpY BiRtHdAy to Nicholas!
Deb, I love Hunter's "mouse house"! We did those books as read-alouds several years ago. I wonder if Miles remembers. I have been really bad about reading long books to him. We are having a mouse problem this year, too. We need to figure out where they are getting in. For now, we have traps in the attic and basement. Last night the cats got one in the basement. That is one thing that I definitely need dh for! I'm not a particularly squeamish person, and I did dozens of dissections in college, but I can't handle disposing of the dead mice.
Elin, your tree is beautiful!
Terry, WELCOME BACK!
Tia,
Becky, it looks like you had a fun day!
We have the tree up! Matthew and I put it up before Michael got home from work yesterday. Michael did help straighten it out a bit, though. It is HUGE! We can't walk between it and the sofa. Somehow, the trees always look smaller outside amongst other trees. We had it baled, so we didn't get to put lights on or decorate last night, because it had to fall back out. I am planning to get lights on today after work. Then we'll start decorating once the kids are home. There is a kids' Christmas party at IBM tonight that Miles is the only one young enough for. The older two can get homework done while we're at that, and hopefully we'll have time to get the decorating done.
I stayed up late last night and completed prep work for almost all of my nursery school projects for December. I still have a little left to do, but I'm in pretty good shape there. I also found some great books at the Dollar store to give out as Christmas presents. I like to give the kids a little something, but it gets expensive! I bought the 3's a book called
Tales from the Manger which tells about Jesus' birth through the eyes of the animals. It is a long book but broken down into shorter stories. The 2's are getting a board book called
The Christmas Star. I also bought the "dough" ornaments from AC Moore that were on sale for $0.50 this week and a candy cane. I'll get them wrapped up soon, and that will be done!
I owe a couple of people designs. I am going to do my best to finish those up today and tomorrow, and then I think I'll have to say "SORRY!" until after Christmas. It does take up a lot of time. Speaking of designing...I still have to make my Christmas cards. I was waiting until after the party tonight so that I could get Miles with Santa. The older two used to humor me up until two years ago, but they won't go stand with Santa now.
Take care!

and

to all! I do think about you all even though I don't post as much as I should.
