Weekend plans for me:

hostess a table at Christmas Tea tomorrow morning (set up tonight). Hope to meet up with Lynn in the afternoon. Evening is Parade of Lights in Downtown Denver (brrrrrrrrrrr!!) followed by CiCi's with the band.

Sunday: church, piano recital, advent festival and hanging of the greens service. I am in charge of the adult craft and will read a story at the service.

Probably pass out Sunday night!!

I used to  the hanging of the greens service. I grew up Methodist, and that is one of the things I miss about going to a Methodist church now (we go to a Bible church).

My weekend is starting in about 15 minutes!! I am going to a Christmas party at a Country Club right outside of DC. The food should be spectacular! I'm really looking forward to it.

Tomorrow is Nicholas' bday and his party is from 10:30 until 1:00 at the roller rink. Well, I should say the skating is during those hours. We have the party room from 11:30-12:15. Then we will go home and start putting out some of our indoor Christmas decorations. Tomorrow night is our Christmas parade downtown. They have the Clydesdale horses leading it off and I know the kids would love to see them, so we will probably go to that. Plus the weather isn't going to be too bad. The only problem is that the parade can last for several hours!

Then on Sunday afternoon we have our first pageant rehearsal, and after that we are going to make birthday cupcakes for Nicholas to take to school on Monday. Hopefully sometime we will get the tree up, maybe not decorated but at least up!

I probably won't get home until late tonight, so if I don't talk to y'all again, have a great night!

have fun!!!

I remember skating parties!!

This is the first time since I started working at the Methodist church that the first Sunday in Advent isn't Thanksgiving weekend. I love going to the Advent Festival and I do like the Hanging of the Greens service so I am happy to help...actually I was flattered into reading the story. I think it's a wonderful way to start the Christmas season.

(I grew up Catholic, go to a Christian church (affiliated with Baptists), and work in a Methodist church)

Hey Jo - can you find out if you pay for a one day ticket and go to Universal Orlando if you can apply that $ spent to the Florida resident pass? That way you DS will think you're "letting" him go to Universal - and you can still suprise him with annual passes if you both like the parks. :teeth:

No they don't have that promo.
They do have a 1 day, 1 day free.
It's a much better deal AP.

Lindsay - 13 hours! :teeth:

Tammi - Thanks! I hope DS is excited when we make our announcement! Ha! Wouldn't that be horrible if he said he didn't want to go? Oh, well! He's going whether he wants to or not! :rotfl:
I hope your Christmas party is FABULOUS!

Jo - Hopefully we will see you and Ramiro at Epcot tomorrow! :goodvibes

Elizabeth - did I miss how you guys were going to tell DS about your trip?

I'm so impressed you've kept the secret for so long - I'd be busting at the seams! :teeth:

:offtopic: ;)

I have - gasp - a t-shirt question!

I am making my 4 nieces and 1 nephew sweathshirts (and a onesie for the baby) for Christmas. I am using name designs that Maria (Cruiser1969) made for me. Question - what size do those of you making shirts for small children make the image? I can obviously eyeball it, but just thought I would ask to avoid headaches.

The size shirts I'm transferring to are a girl's 4/5, toddler girl's 4T, toddler girl's 3T, infant boy's 18-24 mos., and an infant girl's 0-3 mos.

Good evening everyone! I am finally home & I am tired. Four hours of sleep is just not enough for me

Dh got my truck out of the drive this morning & had to park it in a lot across the street. It took him awhile to get his out & almost hit a utility pole, I think I quit breathing for a minute! I had him take me to work. Main roads were not to bad, but the side roads were horrible. There were cars & semis stuck everywhere. They also had the off ramps closed to get on the highway. I had our drive plowed, so hopefully tomorrow I will have no problems.

Tammi & Theresa sounds like you have wonderful plans for the weekend :thumbsup2

Jen I hope you feel better soon :wizard:

Jo I would love to take you up on that offer! Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. Hope you have a wonderful time meeting some of the DDA. Look forward to seeing some pictures.

Lindsey it is nice to see you posting!

Elizabeth I am happy to hear things were resolved with the PE teacher. Your ds is going to be so surpised tomorrow! I can't wait to hear about his reaction. Have a magical time :goodvibes

Kate I am not real good at challenges, but I would love to give it a try!

Hope everyone else is doing ok & has a wonderful weekend!

Hi guys...

we are safe and sound. Thanks for your concern! It has been a crazy couple of days trying to get out of Chicago before the storm hit. We did make it out. We went so last minute...that I did forget a couple of things...but at least we are here and safe. Here are a couple of pics from the Poly. Take care!

WPASADI UPDATE

Okay - we are planning a game for our cheerleaders - if you want to play let us know - you should have a few days to play and it won't take a long time but should be a lot of fun! The game you guys will be playing will be while we are working on our challenge

We need to know ahead of time who is playing to help us make up the teams!

If you want to play - please let me know! If you aren't a cheerleader - you can still sign up - I don't think there will be a lot involved being a cheerleader and you can win cool prizes as a cheerleader!

There will be Virtual Prizes involved!!!

I'll do it :)

I did too!! I went to one a couple of years ago at my church...decided I wanted to hostess a table. That means providing the service (plate, glasses, tea cups etc.), decorating the table and giving a favor to everybody at your table.

I am decorating in blue and silver...with a silver tree, blue and white confetti, father christmas dressed in blue, a candle set in blue, nativity...and other things if need be. I made 4 snowflake ornaments in silver and white and 4 blue and white star ornaments...those were the most time consuming.

I hope I can set a pretty table...some of these ladies go all out!!

Ooooh, I bet it'll be beautiful! Blue and Silver are my favorites. As a matter of fact, they were my wedding colors ;)
