Lose!? We WON! Go White Sox! :teeth: Those are the games I love though...a close game with two teams that can play well!

:p :p :p :p

(You were just going to get one :p, but the administrator deemed it not enough "The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 5 characters." Must be Red Sox fans running this board! :thumbsup2 )

Kate called and Nick is done with his echo. He did not have to be sedated, as he was such a big boy and kept perfectly still.

She said there was nothing major at this point, but she still has to wait for the results to come in. Keep them in your prayers.

I guess Steve had a guilty conscience for making Kate suffer through the tests alone, because he ended up showing up at the hospital, but they were already done. So the three of them had lunch together. She is going to pick up Julia and will be on later.

Cranberry Dessert

1 Grahm Cracker Crust
1 (21oz) can Cherry pie filling
1 (8oz) can whole Cranberry sauce
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan, heat to just boiling, remove from heat, set aside and let cool.

Cream Cheese Filling

2 (3oz) cream cheese
3 tablespoons plain yogurt
3 tablespoons powder sugar

Blend together and spread into bottom and up sides of crust. Pour the cooled cherry, cranberry on top.

I think I'm off to bed too. I got a Jodi Picoult book, Vanishing Acts, that I want to start. I haven't read any of her books, but have heard great things about her. She lives in a town that is about 15 miles from here. My SIL says that she talks about a lot of landmarks that I will recognize. Keep it down to a dull roar unless you're helping Kate keep her mind occupied then by all means chat away.

Deb

ooo I'm reading that book too :goodvibes It's v good - I'v read lots of her books and love them all.

Get My Sister's Keeper next :thumbsup2

The show is SOOO good!!

I started watching the season finale this year - I have since rented the first season on DVD (it was only 9 episodes)

and am catching what I can in reruns!!

Are you talking about Grey's Anatomy? I'm hooked on that show! They just aired the first season on tv here... then 5 episodes of season two... and then said - oo how's that for a cliffhanger, we'll be back next year with the rest of the episodes!!!!!! :confused3  Thank goodness for the internet so I can finish watching them now :teeth:

This is for anyone that sews....
I'm making paint cans for Halloween. Not human size, but regular gallon size, out of canvas. I got two metal rings about 8 or 9 inches (so the top and bottom will hold the round shape) and have no idea on how to make a handle! Should I just use the canvas for handles or see about using 1/2 metal ring with grommets...no matter what, I want it to be "stable" and look like a paint can...
...any ideas?

How about getting a metal purse handle somewhere and using that? I honestly don't know where exactly, but something like this:
http://www.handbagsupplies.com/cat/beaded-handle-frame-ct1-14.htm

Maybe a fabric or craft store would have them otherwise you could get them online somewhere.

Tia congrats on moving your move up. I hope Phil is able to find work once he gets their. Dont spoil that niece and nephew too much now. ;) smilies not working for me.

Who? Me?!?! But spoiling is my job! Just ask their mom (who I used to take for french fries all the time) and my 10yo sister (who I took to WDW several times). Okay, so their not the same level of spoiling, but I was 17yo for Kristi and 25yo for Rachel's so that makes a difference.

Pepper Pot

2 lbs. Hamburger
3 large cans tomato juice (I use Campbell's)
8 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 packages bow tie noodles (Farfalle)
Salt & Pepper to taste

Make small to medium balls with the hamburger, place in very large pot.

Add water (just enough to cover the meat).

Cook on medium heat until meat is done, add tomato juice and potatoes.

Add the bow ties when potatoes are half way done, cooking until bow ties are al dente.

***OFFICIAL NOTICE***

The entire Brooks household including 2 dogs and 1 cat (what am I thinking?)
will be on a camping trip from Friday,July 14th until Sunday, July 30th. I will not have internet access and will not be able to read, post or PM for 16 days. Consider this my official notification. I wouldn't want the DDA vanishing persons patrol to have to hunt me down ;)

Thankfully my brother lives next door so he will be taking care of the plants, lawn, house etc.

Deb
Deb - how on earth are you taking your cat camping?? Won't he run away? :confused3

Have you asked him to let you know he was around every now and then?

Oh, he'll let me know his presence every once in a while. Especially when I'm driving. I don't know how many times a light on a lamp post has went out just as I was reaching it when I've been thinking about how much I miss Dad and wish he was here for some advice. There have probably been 50 or 60 in the last 8 years. I know it's him reminding me that he is there and if I listen very closely I'll know what he is telling me. My dad had a big influence on all of us kids.
