June- Goofy, Goofy, Goofy! Why does Pal Mickey only have is original outfit? Get on it girl and get that mouse some new clothes.

To tell you the truth, it never occurred to me to dress him until Vicki came along with her obsession. I'm planning on going to our local BABW Friday night. I'm looking for a beach chair for the traveling PM for Virginia Beach. I saw that they have them online, so I'm hoping I can get one there. Maybe I'll get my Pal some new duds while I'm there.
And another one gets sucked in. :teeth: Just don't go overboard or you'll wind up on Dr. Phil w/ Vicki :rotfl:

I spoke with her yesterday. It sounded like she was having a busy day, and going to see Cars again!
That's good Did she say how Nick was doing?

During the day on Tuesday, July 4, it was not looking good. We had a storm come thru really fast. But by time we were ready to leave, the skies were clearing up. We headed to New Holland for the holiday concert.

Thomas looks a little washed out but he wanted his picture taken with the plaque by the pavilion.

This is the final number Stars and Stripes and just like Sousa, they get the Piccolos in front with the big drums and all of the brass stands up as well

So, I went up to the director and asked if I could get a picture of Thomas with his baton. I know that this is highly unheard of but I thought it was worth a try. I could tell he was a little stunned but he agreed. Then my DH put his arm around my shoulder and introduced me. Then the director laughed and asked my DH "Did she take her medication this morning?" I quickly replied yes and every day!! :lmao: :lmao:

Well the raincoat, hat, boots, hiking boots, fake leather jacket, sneakers, jeans, ice cream shirt I got at A C Moore. The madras shorts I found on sale at Michael's Crafts. The Harley hat I found at Petsmart. I think I found more shirts almost the same size at Michaels as well. Otherwise I have been using the shirts you sent.

I thought it was probably AC Moore. That is the place that they talk about a lot on the palmickey board. I sure wish I had one of those in my area. My Michael's doesn't have any tees. I'll have to check out our Petsmart for hats. Thanks for the info. I'm working on his & Minnie's wardrobe for our December trip. I also need to get them ready for Girl Scout camp which starts on July 16. Not much time to get things together!

Thanks Vicki. The kids are doing well. I've got my ups and downs. Things so far are very civil though, when I'm not ready to strangle him!
:grouphug:

I'm off to take a shower to see if that helps my sore muscles from the run yesterday. Don't think I'll be back tonight. I want to try and get some sleep! Talk to you all tomorrow.

I'm off to bed too. I have given up taking Tylenol PM. I made a conscious decision to do so while on vacation and I haven't taken one since. I was relying on them every night to get to sleep. I have found that I am not nearly as tired in the morning, don't require daily naps and I am ready for bed by 11 PM without them. That is one step towards a lifestyle change. I have also been bringing the kids to the pool everyday and challenging them to swim races. It is good for all of us. So I've increased my excercise and I'm having fun. Now if I could just change my diet and get more exercise I'd be on the path to a healthy lifestyle, but for now I'm happy with my baby steps.
Night All.

Oh he does! He has canned applesauce by himself and also tomatoes. I just don't want to help at all!!!!! He finds the instructions online himself or calls and gets them from mom. He is very handy in the kitchen. He just would like me to enjoy it with him and I just can't.

There are all kinds of things that he can do and he is doing them. He just keeps wanting me to help him or enjoy it with him or whatever. He wants someone to spend time with basically.
What about finding someone from the community who enjoys doing that type of thing who needs companionship. Perhaps there is an older lady who used to can but can't do it anymore by themself or just someone who would be willing to do stuff with him so that he isn't bothering you all the time. Even if it is just someone who will sit and talk with him or watch TV with him.

When my Dad was wheel chair bound for 6 weeks various people came and just sat with my Dad and to do things with him. So that my Mom could have a break and to let her go to work. They also ran him to apointments and other things. So that my Mom had less stress and could still do her own stuff sometimes. I know it is hard and he wants to spend time with you, but this way he still is doing something with someone so he isn't lonely.

Could you possibly talk to him about it and say that you will spend x amount of time with him doing something and then you want your own time. This way you would at least be spending time with him. He would know how much time you will spend with him and won't feel left out. Perhaps plan one thing together that you will do together for sure, this way it is scheduled and you will do it. But also have unscheduled blocks of time together. This way you would get your own uninterrupted time without him.

If you have an AC Moore or Michaels they have stuff that would be Pal Mickey sized.

Yes, we do have an AC Moore AND a Michael's. Maybe I'll go there after checking out the beach chair at BABW.

Congrats on the small steps. Anything is better than nothing.

hey all -

sorry I haven't been around - things here have been CRAZY!!!

Nick has actually been doing pretty well - but I just have to find out what is going on with his heart - then I will feel so much better!!!!

I hit my knee the other day (yes - the bad one) and now it is bruised and swollen - it really hurts and I have been limping around all week!! I think I might have to go see the doctor again - the kneecap is moving more than it should be and is making sounds it shouldn't make! Hopefully when the swelling and bruising go down it will feel better!!!
