Well, I have some terrific news!!!! Alan booked our flights to Florida for the half marathon! As soon as he gets home I'll have the dates and I can get a ticker up!

Cool.

I'm laughing right now, because Alan would be so into it! He was an actor in college and still has his makeup kit. On Halloween he goes all out with makeup and costume. Last March he took Katie to a Daddy/Daughter Pirate Party at our Church, and he went to town with the makeup. Katie thought it was so cool!

Hmmm, maybe I can get him the costume as a surprise. He is a true pirate at heart. Did I ever tell you we got engaged while doing the show "Peter Pan" together? What was his part, you ask? Captain Hook, of course!

Ummm...y'all might have to wait longer! I was in the hospital 5 days with Christopher and I've been approved by my insurance co. for 5 with this delivery. I'll only stay that long if I need to (which I did with Christopher). So...y'all might have to wait a week!
dawn -

if your hospital has a web nursery we won't have to wait!!!!!!! ;)

I just took a look at the valances I made years ago. It looks like I sewed right sides together around the sides and bottom. Then turned them so they were right sides out. The top would not be sewn together at this point. Now fold the top down about 6 inches or so, toward the window side. Sew the 2 lines from side to side to make the 'pocket' for your rod. Now your seams at the rod entrance will be 'finished.'
That's basically how I ended up making them. I'm not finished because they're very heavy and I need Brian to help me guide them through the sewing machine and he gets home too late to work on it much in the evening.

Paula, have you thought about doing your embroidery work as a side business? One of my team members has a side business and she has a lot of business. She is in the middle of nowhere so if she has business, I would think that you would be able to have it too. If you haven't thought about it, you should. Your pillowcases are awesome and would make neat gifts.
Paula -

I think that is an awesome idea-

you could sell them on ebay and I bet you would make a ton!!!!!! We could help you learn ebay!!

He's also working on renting a house for us while we are there. His sister and brother in law are coming with us as well as another brother!

I'm so excited about this trip. It will be very quick for us, only 2 days in the parks, so we are choosing the 2 we really want to see: Magic Kingdom and Epcot! Be sure that I will be coming to all of you for advice and tips on the whole thing.

I'm so happy!!!!! Now to really pump up my workout so I don't disgrace myself at the half!

Seems like your baby will be little. Don't worry about her being short, some big things come in small packages. :)

Example: My sister is 4'10" and she used to keep her 6'4" friend in line. I am 5'2" and John is 5'11", he was messing around and thought he could pin my arms behind my back and I put him on his butt.

I'm catching up all out of order so if my posts seem out order, you'll know why!

I'm just back from my ultrasound and dr's appt. The baby weighs 4.2 pounds! She also told me the baby has lots of hair. I was surprised that she could see that on the ultrasound and surprised that she has hair since I was bald until I was 18 months old and Christopher was bald until he was 14 months old.

My appt. went well. My dr. did say the baby will be short like me :(.

I have done some of that and it is just worth the time vs money. People don't want to pay me much because I do it at home and then they ask for things in a short time frame. I have to do things when the girls are a sleep or watching a movie other wise they want to play with the machine. I have also found that I don't enjoy doing things that aren't fun to me. It's just a catch 22. Thank you for thinking of me.

Hope these next few days fly by for you.

Thank you all for the good vibes!:goodvibes We are back from the specialist...the short version:

They would like is sugar level to be 100...120 on a bad day, his is 250!!!

He begins daily medication today (oral) has to monitor daily via the finger stab system..or I should say, I have to monitor it...since this is the way it seems to be going.

Besides excessive thirst, he has no other symptoms...

Diet, exercise, medicine, monitor & we go back in 3 weeks....

Kristine

Good luck to both of you! I hope the medicine doesn't give him any side effects and he continues to make progress. The sugar free Russell Stover candy is really pretty good, when he needs something sweet and can work it in to his exchanges.

I thought it might be something like that. I totally understand the enjoyment factor. Well, we'll have to come up with another idea for you.

The girls and I always went into fun mode the first day as well. Chuck is the neat freak in our house. We enjoyed being able to get a game out and leave it on the table if we didn't have time to finish it. Chuck gets uptight if the game stays out when no one is using it.
