im sure you all hate dc. well on an ask yavn thread yavn said that he cant fix dc unless he knows how often it happens and then someone said that we should start a thread to record all the dcs so i did. vmk would be a worry free world without dc so im sure you all want to record everytime you dc. i wont be on vmk right now so im not recording right now. so plz put: ex:
1. (time)
(what you were doing at the time)
using these: * rate one to five how horrible it was
2. and so on

I'm sure people would forget... well at least I know I would. And the DIS doesn't have every VMK'er playing it the game on it... and some of the other sites might not record dc times... I just think it is too much to keep track of.

I noticed that while getting 15K for quest kiosk, i seem to get dc every 2 times of playing the game, last round, just after finishing level 5 stage 3 >_<

I don't know about you all, but when I play, I've seen two different types of DC screens. There's the one where the screen goes all black and the "disconnected" window opens up, and there's another one where a gray box pops up and says "We're sorry, but VMK has crashed" or something like that.

The latter error happens to me very frequently when I'm in the music mix game room. I'd estimate about 1 out of every 3 visits.

just joined a pirates game on another account

Hmm, not to burst your bubble or anything, but I don't think everytime we DC were going to record it. At least not me.

18th August:DC 11.21 whil playing fireworks Stage Tmorrowland Level 2
DC 14.17 Jungle Cruise Game

Disconnects happen because of the number of players on VMK at a particular time. When I get on VMK early in the morning, I can play three full games of fireworks before being disconnected. Between 2 and 6pm CST I can only get one full fireworks game in. After the first open hour and after about 6pm CST I can usually get two fireworks games in. When compared to the numbers of players online at any given time, this makes more sense.

Want to fix the dc problem? Get better, faster, more up-to-date servers that can handle much higher bandwidth than would ever be needed.

hey i have a math equation for y'all!
i have estimated the time for disconnecting is equal to waiting in a queue for a host game, playing, and about three minutes of after shock(if you have won) then the game disconnects you

dc=1 full host game+3 excess minutes

and i have estimated that one full host queue and game is about a half an hour

dc=1 full host game (1/2 hour)+3 excess minutes

add..

1/2 hour+3 minutes= 33 minutes

and to conclude my theory/estimation that one disconnection takes thirty-three minutes to activiate

:rotfl: i dont no just estimating.. :confused3

VMK Programmers know EXACTLY what causes DC I can guarentee that.
The server overloads and starts to DC people who have been Idol or logged in the longest.

It is not your computer, your internet connection or your internet provider.

This is a *FREE* Game and they are not going to pay to upgrade the servers because it is not gaining them anything, Plus no matter how mad we get we keep going back.

If there is a gas station in the middle of nowhere and they charged 10$ for a gallon of gas and you were out would you buy it?? Of course you would.

VMK is the only game of it's kind not to mention Disney themed we fell in love with it, got addicted and will continue to log in every day even after getting dc 4 times in a row in a host game! :badpc:

Um, I wouldn't call going thru the gauntlet of visiting NPC for credits being idol. I purposely enter the Music Game room that is empty as I DC 40% of the time I'm in there upon exit of the Mixing Studio.

I know for a fact that Comcast High Speed Internet has buffering issues where data stalls. It happens briefly on all of my systems even when connected directly to the modem and not my router. BTW: I do IT for a living.

Idol users get a warning screen before boot with a count down. That is not what we are complaining about. We are talking about not being able to win long games (sometimes short ones) because we DC while active, and it happens a lot!

I noted mine over the last few days and will post when I find the sheet.

During business [cough] hours:
iMac G5 1.8 Ghz, 512 RAM, 20GB+ free drive space

During evening hours:
PowerBook G4 1.67GHz, 1GB Ram, 17" 20+GB free drive space

Both fall within requirements and I only run my browser playing VMK.

its cause maybe your computer are too Slow i mean like not bragging but uh.. i have a computer and ive seen my friends computers mine to theirs mines alot faster Or maybe its cause i have a better video graphics game card or something this was my bros computer and he spent alot of money on the parts so my opinon i think its the computers.

Sorry mikeyandscoobyx2 that is not so.

The 1.8 GHZ G5 is not too slow. We are talking a MacOS computers here. Graphic game cards only benefit with 3D gaming or 2D on a Window OS computer in odd situations. They well meet the requirements.

Network disconnection (the main problem) have nothing to do with the system. Slow behavior and possibly VMK Crash, can be dependent on system configuration.

ok since not everyone wants to record we will just say how often we dc or how long we can stay on without dcing. i havent counted but i think it varies for me. sometimes, but rarely, i can stay on for hours and not get dc, and thats usually when i plan on getting off when i get dc since its evening/night but i dont get dc so after a couple hours i leave. and sometimes i get dc very often but thats also rare. most times its in between.
