Proposal day. I had no idea it was coming. I had registered on theknot.com and looked up styles of engagement rings I liked, just for fun. Darren and I had been dating for 5 years at that time, so I knew we were going to get married. He'd seen me looking at the rings and stuff before...
Well, I went to get something to eat one day, and when I got back home, he was there. We were sitting on the couch and he was like, "Show me those rings you liked online."
"Not right now. I'm eating."
"Come on. Show me now. I want to see."
"Darren. In a minute."
"Now!" He was trying to aggravate me and it was working. So we got on the computer and I brought up the site.
Darren said, "Those look kind of like this..." And he got down on his knee and opened a ring box.
It wasn't a romantic candlelit dinner and it wasn't some big planned out event. It was sweet and simple, just like us!He actually WANTED to make me mad beforehand, I don't know why...Guys.
Obviously I said yes. He had the ring special made with a mine cut diamond that was his great grandmother's. Supposedly, they don't make this cut anymore. He aslo bought the wedding band that went with the setting.
Fast forward two years...We settled on a date. May 12, 2007. I wanted something very small, I was absolutely dreading walking down the aisle. I don't like being in the center of attention at all.

Best man- Darren's best friend, Chris
Groomsman- My brother, Joe
Usher- Darren's cousin, Dalton
Junior Groomsmen- My twin cousins, Corey and Cameron. Melissa's kids
Junior Bridesmaids- Darren's two cousins, Kamryn and Summer
Flower girl- My cousin, Brianna. Melissa's kid
Ring bearer- Darren's cousin, Tyler
Now that we had the wedding party picked out, it was time for the fun stuff. Dress shopping!!!

My proposal was funny--My husband was building our house and it was almost done. I kept thinking when is he going to propose--we had been dating four years. One night, I got upset about him not proposing yet. The next day, he proposed---he brought me to our house and opened up the oven---there sat my oval cut diamond. He popped the question and I said yes. THE STRANGEST THING WAS ---HE HAD MY DIAMOND FOR A YEAR and everyone in our small neighborhood knew he had it.

Beautiful pics! Your house is so beautiful! We built ours as well - we will probably be here forever! I'm so jealous that you live on the same road as your family (that will come in handy when you have kids) My family lives about 45 minutes away - I wish we lived closer.

We will be there the same time you will be there except we are staying at POP. I'll say hi if I see you around the parks. I am so excited !! I can't wait for Sept to be here. This will help pass the time until then.

That's sweet, thank you. Wow, I just got caught up. First of all I LOVE the house. I have always loved brick on the outside of houses. Your wedding dress looked so great on you!! My DH & I also got married in May on the 25th. That was almost 23 years ago!! This year we will be celebrating 23 years with the MOUSE!! Enjoying all the great pics..keep them coming!!

The tentetive is about my trip, not my mom. I don't think my district will let me take that friday off...as it is after a Jewish holiday and before Columbus weekend...if I can't take it off, there's no trip. It is too expensive a trip to cut it short....

for the Dasani! Doin it right!! Scary about the storm, I'm glad you didn't get too wet. I lurked through your trip report and thought I would join your pretrip report. I am a little jealous though that you get to start a PTR before you are done with your TR. We are planning our first trip to WDW and who knows when we will get back.

Morning finally made it over and had 8 pages to catch up on already! 
Took a couple pictures of the outside a few minutes ago. It's dark and it looks like it's gonna rain!
BTW, we don't live in a desert. My dad and Darren leveled out the yard and the grass hasn't grown in yet!
