DS and I just got home from 2 1/2 days at Florida State University for his orientation. There was lots of great information given, DS has his fall schedule, and DS made lots of new friends. He is VERY excited about college and is so much more comfortable now than he was 2 days ago.

But, I'm still in shock!!! My "there is nothing in life besides THEATRE" boy has changed his major!!!!!:scared1: He is now a marine biology major!!:scared1: I knew that after the tour Sarah gave us behind the scenes at The Seas at Epcot that he was considering double majoring in theatre and marine biology, but I never expected him to put anything before theatre. But, he's always loved the water and sea animals and seeing the jobs people had at The Seas working with marine life really gave him the push he needed. He is sooo excited. He still wants to double major, but he says he can still do theatre without a degree so he wants to concentrate on marine biology and hopefully someday work with sea turtles. He is still planning to audition for shows at FSU, but just won't be working towards that theatre degree right now. I knew that college kids changed their majors quite often, I just never expected my theatre boy to change so quickly. I'm quite happy about it actually.:goodvibes

It was hard sitting through 2 1/2 days of all the Seminole and garnet and gold stuff at FSU and hear them tell rotten jokes about The Gators. But, I behaved and didn't embarrass DS. I kept my mouth shut and never once yelled "Go Gators" and didn't do the Gator chomp while everyone else around me was doing the Seminole chop!!! But it was really really hard. The Seminoles are HUGE rivals of the Gators and this is going to be a long 4 years!:lmao:

wow that is a BIG change....at least he has a better chance at a job when he graduates! and can keep having fun in theater too!

sounds like you were a "good girl" and behaved yourself, but I bet it was tough for you!!
