Good Morning!

Another hot day for us! Stay cool to those who are dealing with this heat, and remember to check on your elderly neighbors and family.

Today:

meeting at 7
dinner burgers(as long as someone remembers to cook them);)
crash into bed, it has been a long week

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning!!
You are so right, at this end of the state, they are predicting 100 degrees or higher!! Thank heavens for central air.....
DD#4 teaches, and her school is still in session today - they canceled the afternoon for students, but the teachers stay!

Spoiling myself, getting a pedicure today.

Hope you all take it easy, slow, and get through this heat wave successfully.

Good morning
hoping for rain here
need to finish up S. Mickeys - going ahead & doing up all of them (6 different ones ) plus the brooms with the buckets -- was thinking I needed them for DHS Mickey M&G, the landscape thingy, Fanastmic besides THe Great Movie Ride
figure out the LOs & see if I need another Mickey or not

work on inkscaping Indy Mickeys

stay cool everyone....we are having 70's again today...rain in forcast though for next few days!

wow I have to vent, last night I stayed to help keep the choir kids in order and must say how disappointed I am, every time the teacher turned her back or took attend off of them they went wild......were told a number of times to be quiet, stay in their line ups.......when we were waiting to walk into the gym they were supposed to be totally quiet, and we had to ask them a number of times to be quiet again, was getting dirty looks, eye rolling, etc.

finally the teacher ask them if they like being able to do the fun activities it took to have parent help and they said yes, she said do you think Mrs. Birch wants to come back to help us next year? they all said NO! and when she walked back up the line they all started talking again ....I gave up!
am going to definately think about what activites I will be helping with next year, the whole lack of respect they have for the teacher really bothered me.....I will say they did sing beautifully! when it was over, two girls thanked me for helping which was nice, sure they will all get an earful today at school, the teacher wasn't happy with them at all!

tonight is their award/potluck ceremony, hope they will show some appreciation to their teacher and the parents who worked so hard all year to make things happen!!! ok vent over, thanks for listening

today:
do some organizing of my scrap area
nail appt
kit my last DLR trip photos
make couple bday cards

p/u megan
finish up her project for school
got to awards ceremony at 6

have a wonderful day!

and what's with the wonky boards this morning, its a mess

Lisa:hug:
I would think about what do help with too - hope the teacher gives them a big earful

Sadly Lisa, this is what many of us experience on a daily basis. Age is a big factor, but respect is not something all kids understand. They almost feel "entitled" to say and do what they please.
I am not making a blanket statement because many of us have done an awesome job with our children, but after 35 yrs of teaching, this is becoming the norm rather than the what we should expect.
I am sorry that you should even need to question what you will choose to do next school yr, as schools need far more parents like you!!!!!

Good Morning ladies!!

Lisa, that is the reason I dont go to school past preschool anymore. Kids are just not great to be around :(

Today:
DD#1's last day of school

Get DD#3 ready to go to pics and dress rehearsal. Send pixie dust that she will put the tights on!!
Have an appt to get my eyebrows done on the way to the high school.
stop at J's pick up yellow paper to make letters for another classes prop
home
work on letters
slideshow
finish orders if i can
DD's to dads house
DD#1 to pics and dress at 7
home
Sleep!

Hi all :goodvibes

I'm "all doped up" on vicadin, anti-biotics, and anti-nausia meds :upsidedow

Hope all of you in the east are staying safe in the heat and humidity :flower3:

Lisa I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience last night. Hopefully the kids will behave for the awards. I also stopped volunteering when my girls reached junior high. I helped in the library for 1 year, but that was it. It was sad to see kids that I knew as being really sweet turn into not so nice kids.

Have a great day all :flower3:

Cheryl, hope they figure out what is going on

Rachal good luck with the tights and rehearsals!

it is so sad these kids think they can get away with being so rude....did everyone see the poor bus monitor who was verbally abused....sad to think this is our future, these kids will get a rude awakening some day!
Megan is not perfect, but she knows to NEVER disrespect a teacher or parent volunteer.......parents aren't doing their kids any favor in not teaching them common manners and respect for others.

Caroline, knowing you taught for all these years is amazing, I could never do that job ...just don't have the patience! I will choose my volunterring more carefully from here on out!

Good day everyone!! We have a busy day with an appt for Jackson, soccer, and softball. Hope the heat lets up before tonight-yuck!!

Cheryl, hope you feel better

Lisa- I totally understand, I teach middle schoolers. Too often it seems that parents try to be "friends" with their child, rather than their parent.

OK ya can keep a secert right?? since this is suppose to be for a blog hop mid July but I feel like it needs something (adding the Title helped)

Lisa, so sorry you had to deal with disrepectuful students. I hope the teacher gives them a good speak to about their behavior.

Michelle and Caroline, and thanks for teaching this age of kids. I know it is challenging and takes a special person to keep at it year after year.

I know my Julia is not a perfect child, but she knows that all staff at the schools deserve her respect.

Reddy, love those layouts!

Cheryl, hope your feeling better!

Michelle, you are so right! didn't realize you taught middle school too :)
Cassey, looks like we are doing right by our kids!
reddy, cute LO's!!

Pictures were a no go. She did wear tights and everything but when it came time to do the photos she had a meltdown. So not happy with her.

sorry she didn't want to get photos done, hope for next year!

awards ceremony was nice....Ms. Hyman gave out flowers to her most helpful parents...guess I was one of them and wrote me a very sweet thank you note! lots of food and a good turnout! happy this year is over for me, don't have anything else to do the next 4 days of school other than getting megan to and from school :thumbsup2

Congratulations Lisa job well done and appreciated , too.
Michelle - so proud to know that you are a positive educator too. Think of all the lives so many of us have touched and influenced. Truly can't think of anything I would have rather done. (well, the pay is terrible, but I still love the job!)
