Good Morning :)

It's going to be a crazy busy day here so I thought I'd start the thread extra early :)

I have to drive the girls to a jazz festival about 90 minutes away (we leave at 11). Rachel's choir sings at 2 (warm ups at 1) and Sarah's at 5:30 (warm ups at 4:30). Then we drive back for Sarah's final Youth Symphony concert of the year at 7:30. Somehow I have to figure out a way to feed them lunch and dinner on the road, I hate eating in the car!

Up
Walk Latte
Gather girls bags & choir dresses
Pack a few snacks & water
Head to Greeley for Jazz Fest
Lunch on the road

The funeral was nice. It did remind me why I don't go to church anymore, it was very preachy and less about her and more about God. It felt more like a sermon then a celebration of life.
The boys were funny. I had picked them up at school and as soon as we got to church about 6 high school teachers showed up. M, DS14 and C are all in the same unit so it was all of their teachers. So I was like at least if they say you had an unexcused absence the teachers can verify where you were!

I told DS14 that this was NOT what I wanted in terms of a funeral!! I want a party! I told him a good ol' irish wake would be perfect. I'm contemplating cremation so the kids can sneak me to Disneyworld and leave me there.

The next few weeks are going to be rough though. Once the dust settles and everyone goes back to their lives, I'm sure M and his dad will hit some rough patches. My big concern is that M has always been a bit of a trouble maker and now when he comes home he'll be alone instead of someone being at the house. That's just a recipe for disaster.

was nice the teachers came too! shows they care about M!!

I agree with you...it should be a celebration of your life!
that's what I did for Jim...we go to church, but I didn't want it to be a full blown Catholic mass....luckily my mom's priest was very supportive and did what I requested!

The afterwards is going to be tough.....they will go from people all the time around them, to nothing very quickly, unfortunately it happens with everyone!
maybe he can get into an afterschool program of some sort!

just support M the best you can!
