It's The Day Before Friday!! I can see the weekend from here!

Today is my day off! I'm supposed to go out with my BFF. Shopping in a girly store, then lunch, maybe a nursery. I want one of those everblooming lilacs...

My list for today:

Caffeinate- this repeats everyday!!

Keep to my points!

House chores before going out with BFF

Make DH Bday cake, and take out surf and turf stuffs for dinner

Out to play with BFF...checking out the OneSole sandals, the new purses, and switchflops

Swish and Swipe...

Dinner- DH's Bday dinner, and cake

Fairly quiet Thursday - work for a bit (probably be asked to stay an extra hour again...not a huge deal) and then try to finish up a Sketch swap group in the afternoon.

Walk to Shamrock's (scrappy friend & neighbor) for adult "Happy Hour" in the evening - and maybe TB will join us? Hope so!

I'm a bad cow mommy, Tom didn't turn on the yard light last night and so I'm not going out there. it's pitch black and no flash light is bright enough for me to wander out there with out that light on.

I don't have a lot planned for today. I've told DS that he's to stay home today so that we can continue tackling his room. We've got a huge pile for Goodwill already and it's looking better in there, but we've still got a long way to go. Then, we'll be rearranging the furniture and hanging up his new room decorations and making it all "cool" looking!

Sorry I've been missing these past few days.
So much stuff that takes up tons of time.

First day of spring break.
We all slept in. Except DH, he gets no break.

Dirty ones in
Laundry folding and put away
New loads of laundry to start
Swifter kitchen floor for dog hair - they have begun their molting - it gets everywhere. No homemade snacks from me for a while. The hair just floats in the air, for a long time. No telling where it will land.
Get kiddos ready
Out the door for -
allergy shots
hair cuts
lunch with DH
shoe shopping
Home in time to put pork chops on the grill
Watch Da Vinci Code tonight.

We have been enjoying our break!!! Just chillin' at home, playing games and just being together..

Today:

sketch open house announcement and post it for review...
give DS13 the exciting news: DH is taking 1/2 day tomorrow and is taking him downtown to watch DUKEpractice for their final 4 game. DS13 loves DUKE.. I would love for him to get a scholarship for Duke!!
figure out dinner as DH wants to grill out
once over on the house..everyone can help and it'll take less than an hour
decorate the house for Easter.. 2 boxes are sitting out to do this....
pull baskets and colored stuffing grass for Easter (in one of the 2 boxes)
dinner menu for 2 weeks
grocery list for tomorrow
shopping list for tomorrow
pay some bills
see if I can find the primer for the kids to prime the crown molding for my living room (DH wants to put it up next weekend, lol...and we are still working on those new floors to go in too...)
get a graduation ticker up and put it on as my screensaver for DH to see whenever he signs into the computer 'cause he is running out of time!!!!

That should get me thru the day... I want to scrap so hopefully I'll make some time for that..

yes, it stopped raining early Wed morning. That big orange fireball is supposed to come out today too.

The problem is the water table is so high it is coming up through cracks and seams in the floor.

Once we get this dried out.. the floor is concrete, right?
Go look for some joint compound by UGL... fast plug... we used it in our basement and we haven't had an issues lately... if you have cement block walls you can get a product also by them called drylock and it'll seal up the block and won't let water thru...
We've used it too...

the floor is concrete but we're not sure what the walls are. they are not cinder block, the surface is not smooth. They were hand troweled with what ever material was used, it's kind of fiberous.

I think we just need to get the whole floor redone. DH said something about putting a barrier down and reskimming the floor with concrete.

I'm sure things are going to be hectic for a while with the road closed.

Our sump pump is still going, but it is definitely slowing down. DH would really like for it to stop before he removes the rugs (remnants, nothing special), because he's worried it will mess up.

Sophie has left the building. We went for a nice walk after her mom got back. I'm waaaaaaaaay out of shape, but on the right track now

Buffy- sorry about the water! What a mess!!

I went to find the pic of the lilacs to show BFF, and there were words in DH's handwritting on the paper saying something like 'Ordered 3/31/10. To be delivered in June.' I showed BFF the paper, and put it back...DH will never know, and I'll act surprised

Day with BFF was great! I got the sandals I wanted, with 3 different toppers...one has a martini in swarovski crystals on it And I got the cute purse with the changeable covers... spent WAY too much at the store! But the sandals were 40% off because she is not going to be selling them anymore... so I saved a bundle too... That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Then we tried a new place for lunch... it was yummy...

So, we had a fun day! It was beautiful and springlike, just perfect! Now grilling steaks and making a cake for DH...
