~The Daily Grind~ 2/25/10

Christy, I am stunned that the school wouldn't let your DH see your DS. It's not like L never sees his father or doesn't live with him. That is the only reason while a child wouldn't have to come down to the office in our town, if the non residential parent showed up unannounced at school.

Jennifer, Sophie is just too darn cute. Funny that she slept thru her modeling session.

Pinball Family, I feel your pain. Our advocating for our children will never end. Hang in there!

My to do list:

Feed kitty
Check weather if school delay.....nope :woohoo: just rain, lots and lots of rain
Put wood in the woodstove
Put laundry away
Get DD up and ready for school
Caffeinate
Work
Bank
buy stamps
Pay bills
Check that MomE and her DH made it home from dr appt in Boston ok. They did but didn't get home until 6:30 from a 11:00 appt.

Hey, what's with that Sophie kid, anyway? She's always asleep! Gee, you'd think babies sleep a lot or something! :lmao:

Ok - now that today is over, I can finally share the news...DH has an exciting new job and will start in a few weeks! He told his co-workers today that he was recruited and accepted a proverbial "offer that couldn't be refused." He adores the folks he's worked with for the past 26 years, but this is a wonderful new challenge that will stretch him in new ways. (He is a brilliant physicist/ research scientist and inventor!) This has been in the works for a little while - the folks who want him were former co-workers (and now with a very large company) who are over the moon with excitement that they were able to convince him to join them.

So - it has been a little nutty around here this week - certainly lots of drama! Thanks for letting me share! :cloud9:

Congrats to Mr. PBF! How exciting! (New job knows about the vacations right?)

Sophie is a sleeper...I swear I barely see her eyes open. She's having some tummy issues, but I don't think that's what makes her sleep. They put her on soy formula today, because she's a fuss budget! She is always happy when I'm around though ;)

that is wonderful!

Pam how wonderful for him. New challenges are what keep our minds going
( although mine could us a break)

Congrats mr PBF!!!!! good luck in your new job!

Lisa -How is mome 's dh? That must have been a long day for them. Do they drive them selves into Boston ?

Oh and Christy, mr Crockett says that's bullsh** that you can't see yor son when you want to. I told him " um honey, that's how it is here!" he said let them try to stop me...... Just let them try.
So I guess he feels Tom's pain.

Holly Tom will be glad to hear that another dad feels his pain. he's still just shaking his head, course we're both feeling a bit guilty since the weather has been basically rain but better safe than sorry.

Bet Mr crockett would love to play in the tucker.

You betcha - a very nice salary/bennies package because they *really* want him! (And now, I get to begin planning the 2011 trips! And all of the quickie ones down this fall/holiday season to visit our little cast member...:earsgirl:) Tonight, she did finally succeed in officially accepting her offer online - but we are still waiting to see how many times we got charged the registration fee!

Thanks for all of your good wishes! Also, TB thanks you - she misses everyone!

What an emotionally draining week - but it is all good! (Well, except the crappy school stuff - but I can go psycho next week on that.) And, sadly, will have to, and for many more weeks/meetings to come until we can get things straightened out. We've been nice, we've been flexible, we've been patient...and we've been screwed — and our kid with autism is paying the price.

Geez, it is windy tonight - the house shudders every once in awhile. Gale force winds are really blowing hard - the rain is coming down - but no snow (yet)!

Christy - love the photos! I had no idea there was a Tucker-thingie...!

Heading for horizontal (!) - gotta get some sleep and stop staying up all night watching the Olympics to decompress!

Congrats on the Great job news!! So exciting!!

Christy- I can't believe they didn't bring your son to the office. I would have lost it too, and my DH would have done just what your's did. It is not unreasonable to see your child for a min. That is way out of line!

Mom is doing the driving, he really isn't driving anymore, nor should he. He is much too frail, but try telling him that. Between flying home late Wednesday from FL, followed by a trip to Boston Thursday, they both are exhausted and Mom's COPD is really acting up. I doubt she will be at the weekend crop this weekend. :sad2:

PBF, such exciting job news in your house this week. Congrats to Mr. PBF!!!!

Sorry to hear about both of them Lisa. I was hoping to see your mom but would rather have her stay home and get some rest!!! Now that it appears that LindaBabe is coming, I will get some packing done and hope the road conditions are good for she and Jackie to get here.
