It's The Weekend! Day #2

6 shopping days left!!

I tried something new last night. I put a roast in the crockpot to cook overnight. I prepped it yesterday morning. Then when I came home it was 5 min to put it in the pot. When I get up, it'll be done and ready for me to fix a plate for work. DS22 is excited to have a plate of pork roast to take to work tomorrow for dinner too. This might become a new normal at my house...

My list for today:

Caffeinate...This repeats everyday
smiley_mornincoffee.gif

Feed Pups

Check DCL for Palo brunch... nothing yesterday...

DIS/FB :surfweb:

Swish, Swipe, and Swiffer

:laundy: finish and put away

Pack a dinner
Pack my crocheting. Have to start something new, the piece I'm making is too big to carry now :(

Work @3p at the good hospital :teeth:

Have a GREAT day everyone!!

Good Morning Ladies!

Pork roast sounds good to me!

Today
Make more cookies
pack cookies to mail to houseguest who isn't coming
decide if I"m shipping a box to the ship, if yes, prepare it
send check to honorary 'daughter'
give dh extra hug - 41 years today since our first wedding - in the midst of a blizzard
NO gym - woo hoo! went 6 times last week
work on Dimples autograph book for cruise? If I don't start, it won't get done.

Happy Day, all!

Happy Anniversary, Linda!

Well, we had a little excitement last night. My MIL was admitted to the hospital with her blood sugar at nearly 500 and a possible UTI. She's been diabetic for a while, but refuses to eat properly, she was also diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years ago, and refuses to take her medication. Needless to say, it's been rough on my FIL. DH went over to get her squared away at the hospital and I stayed home with the sleepover crew. So, if you could send a little pixie dust our way, I would really appreciate it.

Not sure what the day will bring. I've got a date with my stove very shortly for some French toast and bacon.

morning all

Deb i  my crock pots!! used 4 of them for the party yesterday

Linda Happy Anniversary guess i have no reason to forget the day

Jen what is it with IL's my FIL just got out after a week. He's now on dialisis from not taking care of himself. Poor Tom is just at the end of the rope with his father.

We had a great party but I hate it when people say they are coming and don't! oh well leftover for a few days.

Happy birthday honey. hope you enjoy your 40th.

OK - I'm weird - I love to wrap and tie bows/tags on! I usually have one day set aside just for wrapping and one just for bows (reusing my pretty wired ribbon year to year). I really enjoy this - and I know - it all gets destroyed in under an hour! But, I love how everything looks under the tree for a little while before the attack...!

I'm done with everything and am just waiting for ONE last package to come from FedEx - but I think it must be coming via their "slug" service - it seems to be creeping its way across the country! :snail::snail::snail:

Putter around day here - finish decorating the tree (still really slurping up water - great!), finish up a few deferred house chores and local errands, and make crab cakes for dinner. Patriots game late tonight! Parties yesterday were loads of fun and I'm glad Tom enjoyed his, Christy! Yea for leftovers - especially during this busy time of the year!!!

Hugs and energy to everyone who is sick AND to their caregivers and concerned families. Happy anniversary to Linda and her best guy!

well gthe first present wrapped!!!!!

only a zillion more and i'll be done!

WOW! You gals have been BUSY this morning!

Thank you for the well wishes! SENDING DUST to your MIL (Also a small kick in her pants for not taking her meds and eating well - although, with Alzheimers, poor dear, there's no reasoning with them)

Thank you! We could get together and wrap! <Sigh> I miss wrapping with mama, too.

Morning :)

Rachel LOVES to wrap too!! She visited with her grandma yesterday & learned to make bows, they both had so much fun. Rach has wrapped all the presents for our family and is excited to make bows for them now :)

Happy anniversary Linda & Bruce :)

Happy Birthday Tom :)

Deb--that roast sounds yummy! I love my crockpot!

DH and I are having a "date day" we're going to lunch and then to see the "Denver Brass" then it's off to the in-laws to open gifts :)

Have a great day all :)

The crock pot worked like a charm! DS22 went happily off to work with a nice home cooked dinner. :teeth: I pulled out my Fix it and forget it books for some more ideas

Happy Anniversary to Linda and her DH!!

Happy Birthday to Tom!!

P&PD for Bubba, AWM's family, and MM2000 family :wizard:

As for wrapping, I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Loves:
  • LOVE the way the gifties look all done up :santa:
  • LOVE that my kids come down and help me in "The North Pole" (giftwrap central in my basement)
  • LOVE how silly my DH gets when he is wrapping gifties for me, he loves to tease me, make me shake things, sings carols...

Hates:
  • HATE that I always feel rushed
  • HATE that it takes so long

And I miss my mom too. She passed in December 2004 and it's just a sad time for me...

so sorry Deb. it must be a hard time of year for you.

so i'm wrapping away all by my lonesome. davey crockett is on the couch watching a movie and bubba is in bed watching a movie.....

but i'm plugging along....none of bubbas have been done, but working on family and friends gifts.

ok back to the paper....

hugs for all those missing their moms' today. I still have mine thankfully. but I knowthat tom is missing his she's been gone 6 years and his gram has now been gone 6 months and a week (e's bday was the 6 month mark)

tom says thank you for alll the wishes (although his still doesn't get my friends here) need to get some of you here to the farm so he sees you in person :rotfl:

I used to love wrapping but with all these parties it never gets done till last minute and I hate that.

off to empty dishwasher and flip laundry then on to the bedroom clean out ( all the deco boxes just got dropped in the middle of my clean room)

Internet is not blocked at work today! Shhh!!

Happy Anniversary, Linda and Bruce! Happy Birthday, Tom! P&PDfor Jennifer's MIL and family!

I'm another one that has a hard time with the Christmas season overall. Definitely a lot of blue times missing Mom and Gram, then this year with the new losses. I do tend to go into hibernation a bit for the month of December. Another :hug:for those of you in the same boat.

I do however, enjoy wrapping because its such a feeling of accomplishment. You start out with a pile of things to do and when you're done you have such a nicely improved pile to show for your effort. Although I am a notoriously bad wrapper. I wrap my own presents (because I buy them too :rolleyes1) and last Christmas the kids made fun of DH for his poor wrapping job on my gifts. (Cricut cartridges aren't a uniform shape after all;)) He was gracious enough to take the ribbing.

NEE i'd love to go into hiding for the month of December.
You have had quite the year my friend. I'm sorry. It must be hard for you.

i love all the wrapping paper and i try to make it all perfect that is probably why i hate it so much. i like it to all match and be nicey nice.
my dh said "holly who cares. slap it together/ slap the tap on it and leave it alone." nope not me. i have to make sure its all just so.

well i've made a dent in my wrapping. but its just others not santa stuff.
that will be tonight after my house is sleeping.
