~The Daily Grind~ 11/6/09

Oh Hope - forgot to say HOUSE LOOKS AWESOME!!! Will be looking for scrapbook/craft room ideas soon so be sure to post more pictures!!:yay:

How exciting for you and your family!! BTW I was trying to figure out which College or NFL teams were purple and pink!:rotfl: The yellow is great!!

Okay finally got home from the errands mom will be the death of me she needed a new camera (L has his 1st meet tomorrow) 2 hours and 4 stores later

Deskunking recipe
1 quart hydrogen peroxide 3%
1/4 cu baking soda
1 teaspoon liquid soap

combine all in a bowl dip sponge into the liquid and rub onto pets dry fur. After dousing the pet with the soulution give animal a bath with a good skin conditioning shampoos because of peroxide.

This is Peter Shack's De-skunking recipe. Hope it works Knock on wood this is one thing I've never had to do. But yet the recipe hangs on the fridge.

Off to take brownies out.

joyah/AWM - that recipe sounds like the one we used. We did it daily for about a week, as the odor kinda lingered on the dog. For the house, we did little dishes of white vinegar put out in the rooms where they wouldn't get knocked over and replaced them several times a day. It also took about a week for the house to smell fine, too.

SIOH - You'll love the Boardwalk! We've never stayed there, but are Yacht Club-lovers and really enjoy that area of the World. (Also did the Swan once.) The boats to Epcot and DHS are oodles of fun, but also being able to walk to each of those two parks in about ten minutes or so is terrific!!!!!

hopemax - Love, love, love the photos! I've been wanting for years to re-do our living room in a lovely yellow gold. It just seems to radiate happiness!

TB - ahem....will we be able to fit in the dining room with all of the new tables there? :lmao: Let me know if there's anything else you need me to do or bring. I'll cawl you lattah...

Thanks about the vinegar trick. Because the pine smelling Yankee candles and oe de la skunk are killing me.
I'd open the windows, but that is where the skunk is. Still. It lives under the porch. Stupid skunk. The rights side of my porch is covered in its wonderful essential oils. My dogs play rough. They slam themselves all over the porch. There is no way on this good green earth the skunk didn't know dogs live here. Why? Why? Why? Why would it want to live UNDER the dogs?

What do you think chocolate brownies and skunk would smell like together?

:rotfl2:

Did I tell you the smell is worse in the basement? I mean, really bad. There is no more bleach smell at all down there. No mildew or mold or musty smell either. I think I like damp old book smell better then this new fangled skunk stuff.

Oh, did I tell you I used up the last of the vinegar on the last puppy stain on the porch? No. Guess I forgot to tell the shopper of vinegar that too. :sad2:

OH NO AWM!!! STINKY!!! PA-TOOIE!!! Hope the recipe works! Skunk and anything is a bad combo :crazy2:

SIOH- Boardwalk is our home resort. We have stayed there and it was really nice. LONG hallways though...Your DS is gonna love running down them, all the kids do :lmao: I liked being able to walk to Epcot too.

I'm still trying to decide between Boardwalk and Beach Club. I'm thinking that 11mo window is worth the piece of mind of already having it booked. I also like the walk around the lake...

Thanks for all the advice about the wedding clothes. I'm going with the semi dressy, with added bling :)

When the dogs got sprayed that time the smell hung in the house for *alot* longer than it did on the dogs...They were good within a day, the house - not so much (It didn't help that dh brought the dogs *in* right after they were sprayed;)

I'm guessing people aren't going to remember what you were wearing unless it's a miniskirt... my mom still complains about the people who wore miniskirts to her wedding! :lmao:

Just getting around to answering this...it wasn't "people," it was "person" (on DHs "side" I must note!!!) whose skirt just BARELY covered her...um...ASSets. Of course, our photographer just had to get a photo of her from the back hugging me as she went through the reception line...hiking the skirt up *even farther* if that was possible. Real classy chick :rolleyes1 ! We had a morning wedding and a brunch reception, so everyone else was dressed appropriately, if not overly dressy, given the hour.

PBF OMG my mother would have died if anyone showed up to my wedding in a skirt like that. Even all our firends had on wedding appropriate attire and some of them i worried about.

AWM hope it works and the smell leaves get a have a heart and trap that sucker! I would so not want one living anywhere near my house. they actually can be quite nasty.

Still no phone call I'm really sad but trying to look past it. I have an interview on monday for the VNA and their stuff........:sad2::sad1:

Off to get the boys ready for hunting season (my part is bedtime), E's 1st year and i'm:scared1: my baby is shooting deer. He's excited and scared and so his tummy is hurting. I need to make sure that video camera is ready for daddy to take and my camera is ready for pictures. We also have L's 1st swim meet at 3:yay:I'm just glad he's trying it. he will be swimming 50 back and 50 free.

Hope you all have fun scrappin tomorrow i'll be thinking of you.

She's a nice person, but jeez...! She actually told us and many other friends years later that our wedding was the most elegant one she had EVER been to. Yeah, it was except her...!

I went hunting with my Dad every year once I was old enough until I moved out of state. I still remember my first time deer hunting. I had lots of butterflies too. I never did bag anything myself.

Don't tell my Dad. The only deer I ever had a chance at I shushed away. :rotfl2: Well, I tried to shush it. It just stood there and looked at me. So I shot above its head and then it ran off. My Dad heard me shoot and oh my goodness, I never knew he could run that fast. He thought I got something. :sad1: I didn't have the heart to tell him I missed on purpose. So I made up a story that I shot but fell out of the tree stand at the same time so I missed.
I don't think I will ever tell him the truth. Nope, not ever.

I love that story. I understand the sport of hunting, but I could never do it, myself. :lovestruc

I like pheasant more than venison and elk even better then pheasant. Elk however is very hard to come by. :lmao: I've only had it once. At a restaurant in NJ. This really cool restaurant not too far from Philly. They served wild exotic game every so often. Don't ever eat the zebra. I think it must taste like horse meat. :lmao: The ostrich is more gamey than the alligator but the buffalo is pretty good. And not one thing tasted like chicken. ;)

AWM read your story to DH and he giggled then fully laughed about "falling out of the tree stand". He's sitting there loading E's muzzleloader back ups. E prefers the muzzleloader to a riffle cause he's left eye domintent (means he crosses over to use the scope) and I guess he thinks it doesn't kick as much.
Jennifer I'm so not a hunter I sit in the treehouse and read a book if I even go. I don't even eat venison now moose that is another story.

It's going to be an interesting few weeks around our house.

we have a wild game dinner at a church a few towns up it's not cheap $25 pp but they have all sorts of stuff not for me but the guys enjoy the night out.

Deb, have fun at the wedding.
Ann, you poor thing, that smell will be with you for awhile. Between that and the bleach, ugh, you deserve a special treat.
Christy, why am I thinking about the Chicken movie from awhile back, where the nonperformers met with a sharp demise?

My day was uneventful, got dd up and out for school, called in to work, slept on the couch for a bit, fever and aches have subsided, just need more rest.

Come to CO, I know of at least 2 places that sell elk here. One is a meat shop in the Olde Towne area of our new city. There is a sign on the front door that says, "Please bring carcasses to the rear door ONLY."
