Good morning, everyone!! We're back to Monday--and the season of the much-longer to-do lists!! Gear up, everyone!! We'll get through this together!

I'm hoping DS is better this morning. It seemed to be subsiding a little last night. Fingers crossed that it doesn't flare up again!

Just one month 'til we go to WDW! I'm a little excited, but I'm also freaking out because everything's not done. Oh well. . .we'll get there!

Here's my list for today:

1. Up
2. Caffeinate
3. Empty dishwasher
4. Gather DS's stuff
5. Pack lunches
6. Clean my bathroom
7. Clean DH's bathroom
8. Clean DH's baseboards

10. DS up
11. DS medicine
12. DS to mom's
13. Stuff to mom's
14. Work

22. Wash DS's Christmas clothes
23. Work on Disney packing list
24. Watch DVR'd show
25. Clean kitchen windows
26. Week of P365 journaling during lunch
27. Go to sleep sort of early!

Everyone have a marvelous Monday!!

get kiddos to school
finish last 3 boxes of books
pack up books to be mailed out
move the last boxes of books to the barn before it rains
pick and arrange toys in the old book/elliptical/community toys room
vacuum, more than once in that room
wash windows
vacuum my room
move stuff around in my room so elliptical will fit in there

oh, did I tell you why the book moving was so important? They've been up there for years now. My parents are coming for Thanksgiving and will need someplace to sleep now that the basement is cahpoot

I'm working today. I may run over to the mall area afterward and do a little shopping, I'm starting to feel the pressure of having NOTHING done for Christmas!

I have to put 4 gingerbread houses together tonight. We're decorating them in girl scouts tomorrow, so we need them framed before the meeting. Of course, putting them together is the hardest job! Hmmm, maybe I'll just glue them!

Hope everyone has a great day!

My list for today:
Make DH's lunch
DS up and off to school
Upload photos from DS's birthday onto the computer

E-mail photos to a few folks

How big are the houses? Could you glue them to a box frame?
Really, if they aren't going to eat them, why not?

I've got a ton of books for you Rebecca. I'm going to see if I have anything I can mail them in. I'm sure it will take two boxes. One would be WAY too heavy. I do have to carry it into the post office. :rotfl2:

I even found two Latin books. And biology/anatomy books. :confused3 Who knew?

Found some great farming/agricultural/gardening books. Some are newer - 50/60's and some are 1900's. A really neat college level book on agriculture.

No magic books, but some interesting mystical books. One person who's collection is, well, unique, was really into reincarnation and other planes and prophecy. Most of this stuff in 70-90's and in decent shape. I may take that stuff to the half price book store. This way it will get a home before it gets ruined in the barn.

Rabecca for some strange reason the thought of you sorting out all the meat had me laughing, I'm spoiled with our own meat and we tell the butcher how we want it packed so It comes to our family size.

I am sure that watching would be funny too- My puppies are both trying to jump up my legs to get to the meat before I pack it up. One of them it trying to take me down by pushing into the back of the knee. I generally have 20 plus things of meat and a box of ziplock bags as I repackage everything. It is so much cheaper to buy in the large size but I only need 3 porkchops for a meal not 9- so it makes up 3 packs. I also have a cooler beside me that I toss the bags in once they are packed before bringing them out to the deep freezer. As the meat starts going in the cooler the puppies go back and forth between the trying to get in the cooler (or knock it over), getting me, and trying to get in the garbage can- wear the packaging is put.

Cool- send them book rate if you find boxes- it is not like I need them quickly. I will get some postage off to you in your package for the Newbie swap.

I'm picking up some tin-foiled box bottoms from another mom this morning. I think I may glue them. We are taking them to the nursing home or the pediatric wing of the hospital for decoration, not for eating! I would be cursing up a blue streak if I had to use icing to put them together ;)

Wow - Monday again already!

AYM - thanks for checking for magic books - sounds like you're making great progress weeding through the books before your company arrives!

joyah - Sorry about the decision about the VNA job - you're right - that stinks. Was the craft show this weekend good for you? Hope so!

MM - good luck with the gingerbread houses - sounds cute!

Today:
Kids up and out
Dog - needs monthly Revolution (flea/tick/heartworm meds) today on shoulder blades - then long walk to make sure they dry and he doesn't roll around and rub meds off
PO - mail $$$ to DIT and mail few bills
Check in with printer about Girl Scout troop tour later this week (then email other co-leader)

Pick up prescriptions at far-away pharmacy (don't ask!) - take the bus over and back?
Find nice clothes/shoes for DD12 to wear for school talent show later this week (flute playing) - raid my closet if necessary
Clothes bins to attic - finally!
Finish kitchen clean-up - DH cooked Sunday dinner - tasted really good, but he makes a mess and cleans MOST of it back up, but...
Itemize/photograph donations to thrift shop - DH has to get them out of here before end of week - company coming!
Swish and swipe bathrooms - Deb, you're right - gotta strap myself back into the Flylady harness!
DH asked me to clean up some of the garden's perennial beds - the city's last leaf and yard waste pick-up for the season is this week - ya...I'll get right on that! (NOT LIKELY!)
Homework/music practice oversight
Dinner - hot dogs and onion rings
Address Christmas cards tonight? Or just collapse and do 'em another day?
Meds and bed

We made a sad, but responsible, decision yesterday to only modestly decorate for Christmas this year. I have (ahem...a lot!) of indoor and outdoor decorations (not including the tree) and it takes me/us 60 "man hours" (me - a minimum of four 10 hour days and then significant days and hours of help from DH and Z2H) to put them up each November and another 40 "man hours" to take everything down in January and put it away. I got a good look at our basement yesterday. I was appalled! We spent a lot of time this spring cleaning it out and now it looks worse than ever - filled with crap! DH and I have to spend time down there ruthlessly cleaning it out! So, that seems to be a better use of our spare time during the next month or two. We will all spend one December day together putting out only our absolute favorite or necessary items (the tree, the Advent/activity calendar, stockings, a tiny subset of our massive Christmas village, etc...) and one January day putting them away. I love decorating - others in the family, not so much! - and will miss all the pretty things, but we have to get a handle on getting basement stuff out, or we'll never be able to seriously consider putting a family/game room down there.

SIOH - I swear you just got back..... why did you even unpack? :rotfl:

Rebecca- Your dogs are much more rambunctious than mine - he would just sit there and whine, looking sad. Unfortunately, it works, and we usually end up giving him a bit....

Oops, I forgot my list:

Up
Breakfast
Work on some homework
Get ready
Head in to school
Present my Honors Project in Class #1
Meeting with grad student
Class #2
Work
Home

Hot Dogs sound good.

Already have the baked beans.
Thanks for the dinner suggestions. :)

Funny - it is hot dog night on the DIS! We love the Nathan's or Hebrew National (@BJs 3 packs for $8) - yum! Used to do the Oscar Mayer beef ones, but when they messed with the recipe a year or so ago, changed the taste (blech!), and made them day-glo red...no thanks!

Mornin'!

I worked at the high school this morning and have been on the move since!
DS13 has his first game tonight.. away of course.. but DH has to stay home and tend to DD's events.... just a few more weeks til her license and that will help!

I'm hoping my parents will be bringing me some Sabretts from NY. Nathan's are the closest I can get to a really good NY Dog. Need some onion relish too. :thumbsup2
