~The Daily Grind~ 10/25/10

Welcome to TinknBellsMom - what is caught up anyways??

Jen - you are going to have a BLAST!!!!

Orders BILs xmas present - he is REALLY hard to buy for.

OK off to fold laundry!

Ok, mini-vent. . .they cut the lights off at work today. For almost 2 hours. Not the power, the lights. So, I had a completely dark cave-room (no windows, no emergency lighting) and the blaring light of my computer monitor. I even had to carry my cellphone to the bathroom so I could see! My head is POUNDING now!! I'm hoping for a day tomorrow of no light cut-offs!!!

TRM--congrats on ordering your BIL's present!! Doesn't it make you feel good to have those hard-to-buy-for people taken care of??

SIOH- I certainly understand the vent- that is crazy.

I would however have theat problem rather than ours- we just ran out of water- they think our well has run dry. We are waiting for a guy from a pump company to come by and check things over to see. Between that and the black mold in the air conditioner (which has been approved to be removed but we haven't gotten a quote from the place they want to use even though I called for it Thursday).

Thank you so much to everyone for all the prayers and good thoughts! It does mean so much.

Today we had a wonderful celebration of my aunt's life, very moving. It was so good to be with family. Grandma had a really hard time at the wake last night, but she did so well today. She definitely gains strength from having her family surround her.

We've been talking a lot about plans for Grandpa. The services will be this Friday/Saturday, so it will be nice to have that extra time to really prepare. I'm going to do the photo collages with some of my cousins, so I'm really excited to start working on that.

 Boy, that's tough, Babe. Two in one week - wishing you and your family strength, as you carry on doing what needs to be done.

Extra pixie dust headed your way, Suzanne. I'm thinking about you. :wizard:

Brooke, for what reason did they turn off the lights for 2 hours? How is that supposed to make you productive?

(I've done it before, when the heat was so bad, but never just for the heck of it!).

I've got lists of lists going here. I'm keeping my head down tomorrow to try to get a bunch of stuff done! I hope I can sleep tonight!

NEE--thinking of you and praying for you!!!

Rebecca, I definitely would rather have been without lights than power!!

I'm not sure why they turned them off. They said they were "working on something". The classrooms have emergency lights (as do the hallways), but our offices are completely interior so they were DARK! People kept walking in to ask for something and I would say, "Umm, I'm sorry. You're going to have to tell me who you are!" :rotfl2:

Brooke that's awful is it even legal not to have the emergency lights? I know our fire dept freaks if there is a bulb that's out.

NEE keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Jen take a pill you have to sleep inorder to be productive and :woohoo: 4 days to go

Rebecca TURN OFF THE PUMP so it doesn't burn out. and hopefully it isn't truely dry.

I goofed off this pm and quilted the afternoon away then went to quilt group. The top of L's quilt is done and E's is cut out. I'm tring to force myself to clean but I really want to keep quilting. I'm hoping E's will go together much quicker than the other did.

Off to do something even if it's wrong.

Linda hope DH got some answers today at the Dr.

Well one of the trustees came over to look at things and the pump started working again (DH had turned off the power toi the pump and shut off the water heater). So we have water back on now- they do think they know what the problem might be and that it can be easily fixed if it happens again.
