We have early release day here today too. Ugh.

Got my flu shot a couple of weeks ago - I must have tensed up the muscles in my arm, because it ached for days (so, Brooke - relax your arm!). No other shot site has ever ached like that. (Well, maybe the rabies ones a few years ago - a whole other story!)

I was wondering about the repeat of the 19th, glad we aren't doing a "groundhog day" remember that movie?

feel better Linda:goodvibes
Brooke, thanks for the reminder, need to get us in for our flu shots too...
Debbie, good luck with paint selection, so many beige's.

Morning all. I haven't had much DIS time lately - so hopefully I haven't missed anything too big. P&PD for all those in need. Hope those that are sick feel better soon!

Got my flu shot on Monday. The nurse said because they added the H1N1 in this year, it was more likely to be sore for a couple of days than in years past. In the past I was kind of hit or miss about getting the flu shot because I figured I'm young and healthy and it wasn't that important. Until last year - both DH and I ended up getting H1N1 (before the shots were available to our age group) - and talk about the worst feeling in the world. DH ended up in the ER. So now we'll be getting them regularly!

Crappy day today. Visiting DsD in the hospital. She's totally fine - it's just for some diagnostic testing, but the poor kid is going a little stir crazy. Then back to wait for word on my Dad's MD appointment. It's probably nothing to worry about, but they had to send him to a scary-sounding doctor so of course I've been worrying. And still waiting for word on my aunt. She's still with us, but she's been unresponsive for a couple days so it will likely be soon.

NEE will keep you all in my prayers. those last few days are the hardest.
did they add h1n1 to all flu shots????? the nurse at the center didn't say anything to us about that.

I'm frustraded with the packing so I'm hear playing instead of accomplishing something. I really need to get off my duff and do something.

Wow NEE you've got your hands full. Hugs to you my friend.

I'm here. I too have been hit or miss lately. sorry. Hope all is well with everyone. Lots going on in my neck of the woods.

Love and miss you all.

Brooke- pm me your addy. ;)

NEE, sorry to hear things are so stressful....sending a big dose of PD!!

Sounds like all of you need some extra P & PD pixiedust:pixiedust:

Not much happening here today, just lots of errands to run.

Hope everyone has a nice day :)

Workin'. Computer is working a "bit" better, but the internet connection seems to be spotty and is making me a little crazier than usual.

DH's b-day is tomorrow. He got an underwater camera for his b-day - he said it's a family gift - I say no. :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hugs for NEE - you do have alot on your plate right now.

Holly - I know you have been super inundated also. Hope things are going OK for you.

I think Fall Festival may kill me.:rotfl2: We have a super small school but our teachers...UGH...so unorganized.

I have to get off and keep off this computer today. So much to do.

Mornin'

Today I am enjoying my next 5 days off with my boys.. DD left with friends to go to MI; she won't be home til Sunday! I have been getting the play by play on the drive up... she's already taken a ton of photos..good thing I made her pack the charger, 3 sets of batteries and 2 sim cards! ;)

Hope all is well... I'm going to go sort some photos because since I'm swap free for a good LONG time I'm going to put my papers to use..

Christy, from what I understand and NEE can give you specifics they did include all 3 strains in this years flu shot... •The 2010-2011 flu vaccine protects against an influenza A H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the 2009 H1N1 virus that caused so much illness last season.
I found this on this website: http://www.flu.gov/individualfamily/vaccination/index.html

Well our energy audit is done- the main recomendations for us is to get more power strips and place anything we don't use regularly on them so we can keep them off. The other is for the church to have the ac serviced regularly and clean the coils (which are covered in a black mold).

Rebecca

thanks Nancy. My dad had a bad reaction to a flu shot a few years back, like he got the flu majorly. then 4 years ago my aunt had one and appearntly she had a resseive RA (reumitoid arthritis sp?) gene and it triggered the ra she ended up in the hosipital and now has full blown RA. that was 2 strikes in my book and I have such a weird system with autoimmune issues that I'm just not willing to take my chances with putting things in my system. So needless to say it isn't something I keep up on.

Rebecca Black mold :scared1: hope they get it serviced quickly. I try to remember to unplug everything that we don't use I need to get better at it.

I understand Christy.. With DH's diagnosis he is strongly encouraged to get it..so he does every year.... but I have apprehension like you too. The only reason I know that all 3 shots are together now is because when I was listening to the news they mentioned the H3N2 and that caught my attention because I knew about the flu shot, h1n1 shot..but H3N2... I was like what the heck is that.. figured it was a new strain but thought I'd look it up to verify my hunch was right. I know several families whose kids are allergic to eggs and therefore they can't have them....something with eggs is in the mixture....

Black Mold...boy Rebecca that is REALLY scary.....:scared1:

I suspect that once the trustees get the recomendations they will have it services- the tech from the power company said it would take someone who knew what they were doing about 30 minutes to fix the problems and it would decrease our costs(well the churches costs) by $50 or more a month. Even if it took 2-3 months to make the money back it should be worth it. I will mention it to our staff parish committee they are very good at insiting the trustees take care of issues.
