The Crazy Life of a New Floridian & Ongoing TRs

How fun but you'll miss F & W so you'll have to come back! ;) Colts & Giants but Bengals against the Browns. :rolleyes1

And here I thought I liked you! ;)

Thanks goodness we are getting our much needed rain ... for the next three days!!

Latest I saw on Gustav is that he will make it up to a Cat 3 after entering the Gulf of Mexico. Way too early to tell.

I know, my inlaws are begging for rain in upstate SC! I did see that Gustav is not supposed to bother me here. I hate that it will get that big and hit someone, but I just don't want it here!

Looks like Gustav may pass FL by, but will probably still bring rain. I hope things dry out for you soon. We had frost warnings for last night!

Frost warnings? And I just saw your weather ticker said 39 degrees? Oh my! :faint:

I haven't even checked on Gustav this morning, but my luck says he'll come on strong....:sad2: Thank you for the good wishes, and I hope you get your rain!!!

Of course we know about el chupacabra!!! We saw a special on it one time years ago and ever since then every noise in the dark surely MUST be el chupacabra!!! Is that Mexico thing or Puerto Rico? Actually, I think it was Argentina or something....!!!!
Well, Gustav gives me the same impression. The development yesterday was very fast and very strong. :headache: And with me in FL - yeah, you stand a good chance of being out of the woods. I've not seen the latest, but I think they are projecting it to be a slow mover, which I dunno. :rolleyes1

I told Carlos you knew about the chupacabra. He said you must be "good people" :lmao: :thumbsup2 . It is a big thing in PR - but I'm sure it is in other areas too. I told him at least he had that to worry with and not all the voodoo. :scared1:

Your trip is getting really close. So, where are the trip plans? Where are you guys eating again?

So you wanna hear my plans again?

Well, let me pull out my handy dandy Disney folder. Every time I pull it out, the heavens open up, golden light shining through the clouds, and the angels sing out "Aaaaaaah!" Anyone else have this problem?

So we're checking into Yacht Club on Wednesday, Sept 17.

I want to leave around noon, but I just know that Jeff won't be home until around 3. Our romantic getaway will NOT begin so romantically I'm sure!

Dinner our first night at Raglan Road.

Raglan_Road.jpg

We may or may not hit any parks that night. I know Jeff want to see Fantasmic, cause it's been 10 years since we've seen that, but we also want to ride TSM at DHS (used to be MGM but now SOL, KWIM?) :rotfl2: So we may just hit DHS first thing the next morning, and ride TSM, ToT and RNR. Then just wander around a bit and relax that day.

Probably head back to the resort to freshen up, maybe explore Stormalong Bay a bit, before heading to Epcot for one of these!

Dinner at Chefs de France.

I'm sure we'll stay for Illuminations. We love us some Illuminations....

We will probably sleep in on Friday, then head to Epcot and just wander the WS, and of course hit some of the things we missed in May - Universe of Energy, and of course we have to ride Soarin and TT.

Dinner at Tutto Italia.

TuttoItalia-2.jpg

Then Saturday will be maybe AK in the AM and back to Epcot. Honestly, I could spend every minute at Epcot. We are going to wander through WS and actually sit down and watch the various performers.

I do need to check out TGM and UG for the best days calendars, but either way, I know we'll be at Epcot each day to eat!

We may not even see MK this trip, since Ally and I will be there in 3 months and spend a lot of time there. But those plans are saved for another day....

OK, since you insist... just a sneak peak into the plans for Ally and I - our matching t-shirt designs!!!

I need to wait until we get a little closer to determine if I need short sleeve t-shirts or long sleeve!

I LOVE all the invites - and all the plans sound heavenly! Just what I needed today! :) A nice dose of Disney. No wearing sunglasses on your anniversary though! ;)

As for the t-shirts, what about that layering thing - is that still "in"? If so you could do a t-shirt (SS) and then take a light long sleeve shirt to go in under if (which I doubt) it is cooler. :confused3

Sounds like someone may be a fan of the Manning family?

And so glad to see another Giant fan - let's take over Kara's thread!:woohoo:

Kara - I love the t-shirt designs! I can't believe your mother/daughter trip (and mine) is less than 3 months away! I need to get moving on my shirts!

So jealous of your trip with Jeff. I see no problem spending all that time in Epcot - you need to to get the full enjoyment out of it. I keep saying one of these trips, we're going to check the timetables and catch all the shows at each country also. There are so many I haven't seen yet.

Your shirts are going to be so cute!

Thanx! I made waaaaaaay too many for our trip in May - for 9 people! I think we had 3 complete sets, plus 2 extra for each of the three kids! I now stock up on plain white T's so I'm ready to go. I also have this design that I may use for Ally and me if I can find the corrected design to say Mom and Daughter....

Oh, that would be cute, with a long sleeve pink t underneath. I may have to use my new paypal earnings to get those! Shameless plug now for www.jiffyshirts.com. Love them!!!

Don't make me bop you upside the head when we meet in November!

I need to find that website that lists each and every show that even Disney doesn't advertise. I think it would be nice to enjoy our drinks around the world with shows around the world, too. But if we start on the right, don't expect me to up for the mariachi band in Mexico......

(that didn't copy & paste the way I thought it would but anyway......)

I thought we were leaving our weapons at home?;)

Actually, I believe that YOU were going to leave your hatchet at home because of airline regulations, but I'm driving so I didn't promise anything! :rolleyes1

All bets are off now! I may need to contact some of my "associates" in the Orlando area! :smokin: :stir:

(the cigarette-smoking smiley is one of my Sopranos buddies!)

I will happily buy one of these for you and all will be forgiven! :cool2:

I may have already mentioned this here, but I went to TN where Peyton went and DH went to Ole Miss where Eli went, so we have been following them for quite a while.:cool1: If they went to another team, so would we. :rolleyes1

Please share that info. That sounds like something we would enjoy as well. :goodvibes

I went to AK this morning and rode Everest twice in 10 minutes. I love the single rider line!

I used this when we were there in May, of course nobody wanted to stand around and watch any performance. That's why this trip is gonna be so great. Can you imagine going to Epcot and NOT stopping for a few minutes to watch the fountain "dance" in Future World??? Well, Jeff's sister was sighing and pacing and rolling her eyes the whole time, so finally Jeff just said "oh forget it, we can come back whenever we want." Kind of rubbing it in to her. Hey, if she wants to play those games..... :rolleyes1

Why is it I always seem to bring up what a wicked witch she is? I let her get to me way too much. Oh, well....... such is life.

It is what it is!

I had those timetables for shows at Epcot also. We never got around to following it though. Maybe we can put that on our "must-do" list for next Sept.?

I think we'll be in Epcot a lot anyway, what with Grey Goose Slushies in France, a pint o ale in England, a margarita in Mexico.....:rolleyes1 so I'm sure that would be a good plan! :thumbsup2

No matter how many times we go, we have to watch if only for a few minutes. :thumbsup2

That's what I love about Epcot! There are so many "little" things to do that make it so special to us! It's not Test Track and Soarin (although I do love them!!!), it's sitting on a bench and watching the fountain, it's finding that little pastry shop in France and sitting at a table outside and just taking in all the wonderful little touches that Disney adds, to make you feel like you're in France!!! It's watching the drum and bugle corp in the US and getting a little choked up.

Disney parks are the only theme parks where I enjoy sitting outside an attraction like Mission Space, and waiting while Jeff and Ally ride without me. Yes, I'm a chicken. But I can wander the shops, and just sit and take it all in, watching the monorail run overhead. I love it!!!!

I guess I need to leave the title the same for awhile - may need to retitle the whole thread - Kara's 1st Hurricane Season! :rotfl2:

First off, I want to let everyone around LA or the gulf coast region know that I'm thinking of you and praying for you and your families to be safe with Gustav heading your way. I know I joke a lot about it here in FL, and just made it through my first TS, but Gustav looks to be the real deal and I'm sure there will be so much destruction from this. So please be safe!

Now, with that said, have y'all seen TD#8 forming in the ATlantic? Right now it's unclear if it will be a Bermuda problem or a Florida problem! But there's no land in between what will eventually be Hurricane Hannah and the US!!!! Glad I haven't moved my stuff all back onto the back patio. I think I'll leave it in the garage until November 30th!

I hate that Gustav is going to hit anybody. I feel so sorry for everyone there - they just got done rebuilding or are still rebuilding and now this might happen.

I was just reading about TD8 and it looks like it will upgrade to a TS later today. 2 of the models are predicting an intense hurricane and the track right now doesn't look good for FL. Hopefully it will follow the lone track that sends it back out into the Atlantic. This is shaping up to be a very busy season. Hopefully the Atlantic will stay calm after all this! I'll be going to AK and Sea World later in September and you have your trip - so I want good weather!
