The Corn People??

Hi! We are heading out to wdw in a couple of days and dd and I were discussing the corn people. I vaguely remember a thread about people eating corn out of can somewhere in WDW. Can anyone give me a link or refresher? I was trying to tell SO, but of course I can't remember enough about it tell him anything LOL

IIRC--the Corn People were eating corn straight out of the can on the steps of City Hall on Main Street. I could be wrong.

The thread about the corn people is probably buried somewhere in the sands of time, along with the thread about the Towel/Chalk people.

TOV is correct - it was on the steps of City Hall.

A couple of years after that hilarious post some of the DISers, including the late Beverly Lynn recreated that scene and took photos and posted them here. It was hilarious.

Don't forget to have an Emu (turkey) leg while you are at WDE!

It's so funny that I come across your post today. DH and I just got back from the world (today) but while we were there we saw some guy in Epcot eating some beenie weenies out of a can and he also had a can of fruit over by the bathrooms between Inoventions and The Land.

DH was making some silly comments about if that's how you have to come to Disney is it worth it. . .

So I HAD to tell DH the "corn story". If I wouldn't have been so obvious, I would've taken a picture of the beenie weenies but we were tired after a long day in Epcot and I just didn't do it. But oh the things you see while in the World.

I was waiting for DH by the new Nemo show at AK. As I was waiting a family sat near me and open a can of NE Clam Chowder and started to eat it out of the can. They even shared the one can and the one spoon.

ETA: They also shared a can of fruit.

Last December, I was sitting in the area by the water near the Plaza restaurant at MK, and next to me sits a family. They start eating their lunch which they brought with them, which part of which consisted of cans of baked beans. So I saw the kids all grab a spoon and pop open their own can of baked beans and start eating away. Maybe it's a regional thing, as I can't say I eat beans that way! Even if I liked them, I would cook the darn things first!

Yes it was eating corn from a can on the step of city hall. I had many a tear over that thread. Good timess. I miss those days.
