just watching a piece on foxnews about Sarah Palin and her family, her youngest daughter- looked like she was doing somekind of homework and drew a mickey head and liked the Disney Channel!! I know I would like them;)

Thats our Piper! :thumbsup2

I don't know. I can see the gist of what he was saying, but as a christian - I would never refer to ownership of the muslim faith. And he said my muslim faith - as a christian, those words would never cross my mouth.

I'm not saying he's a muslim - just an interesting slip IMO, one not easily made by a devout christian.

Like at that Forum a few weeks ago, when asked "When Does Life begin?" A core Christian belief is at conception. NO real practicing Christian would say anything else.:rolleyes1

I always sort of wonder, if asked, could he recite The Lords Prayer!:confused3

As always with Obama, its never just one thing he says or alludes too...but when you string em all together, there has to be concern.

Hello friends,

I read something in our local papers (mind you, I come from the blue state of Illinois...Obama-land :sad2: ). Anyways, a so-called Republican was making some general comments, but then said either way, we were going to be stuck with Obama. I was really struck...I just have been thinking positive all this time (mind you, I am WORRIED about Obama). Anyways, what do you think? Do you think we are doomed or what??? I havent' let my mind even wander there to that very dark and gloomy thought...thoughts?

I can't imagine. The presidency doesn't come with a how-to manual. I don't think we're doomed. I come from Chicago myself, I know how strong the Dem. party is there and how corrupt the politics are. Seems like everyone is in everyone else's pocket there. Doesn't mean it's like that everywhere.

::yes:: I agree completely.

More poll numbers, from USAToday/Gallup (which is a different poll than the Gallup daily tracking one)

WASHINGTON — The Republican National Convention has given John McCain and his party a significant boost, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken over the weekend shows, as running mate Sarah Palin helps close an "enthusiasm gap" that has dogged the GOP all year.

McCain leads Democrat Barack Obama by 50%-46% among registered voters, the Republican's biggest advantage since January and a turnaround from the USA TODAY poll taken just before the convention opened in St. Paul. Then, he lagged by 7 percentage points.

and further, in the article are the head to head numbers for likely voters:

In the new poll, taken Friday through Sunday, McCain leads Obama by 54%-44% among those seen as most likely to vote. The survey of 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/— 3 points for both samples.

:cheer2:

It was just a strange thing to make a mistake about, especially with all of the hoopla that he's dealt with in regards to religion. Anyway, I thought "Slip" was an interesting word choice.

Here's a link:

Because maybe it really was a slip?

That would never cross my lips. I've studied Judaism because my family was Jewish but I would never say, "my Jewish faith" because I'm a Christian. That's the kind of slip you don't really make if you're truly a member of a religion.

I agree with this completely.

::yes:: the more I thought about it, the more I was convinced that a christian would never say that. You couldn't make me say it in fact.

I think inside he was thinking, "Don't say Muslim, DON'T SAY MUSLIM!" and then...oh crap! :lmao:

Well it's about stupid time!

I am catching up!

Yes, the Muslim theing is very weird, and I don't think that is a slip that I would make.

Some additional data from Rassmussen's polling:

McCain-Obama:
More Likely to Reach Across the Aisle When President.....McCain 63% Obama 51%...

More Likely to Challenge Own Party on Ethics and Corruption....McCain 65% Obama 48%....

The Obama "muslim" slip is funny, but I hope we don't continue to dwell on it for long. He's not a secret muslim, and by focusing on it, the media's dispicable treatment of Governor Palin in particular and of the McCain/Palin ticket in general loses some of it's contrast. As always, JMO. :)

Also, a purely anecdotal observation but I find it interesting that this weekend I saw McCain yards signs popped up all over the place in miy neighborhood. Friday there were none. Today I noticed a half a dozen.

Did this conjure up a mental image of Mr Man for anyone else??:lmao: :rotfl2: Just teasing, dude.;) :rotfl:

I don't get it..........
