Breezy, can you put out something a little less cholesterol laden for me? My cholesterol went up 70 pts! and it was NOT my good cholesterol! The stress eating is killing me if I don't watch it, I will be telling what the other side is like from personal experience!

Anyone else hit the mute button IMMEDIATELY when an Obama ad comes on that uses his voice? It's a total reflex for me now. I simply cannot stand that awful man's voice — my skin literally begins to crawl.

I'm going to throw down here: When I hear his voice, and read postings here by his supporters, I start to understand how people like Hitler, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, etc., won their first elections. No, I am not saying Obama is a mass murderer like Hitler, but the folks who elected Hitler didn't think he was either at the time they voted for him. I'm saying that we here in the U.S. have always wondered how "those people over there" could have been duped into voting for a megalomaniac — and yes, I do believe Obama is a megalomaniac — with a slick populist message. We've always prided ourselves (maybe it was hubris?) on being too sophisticated — too invested in basic human liberties — to fall for the glossy schtick of an ill-intentioned imposter, and yet here were are. Even if he loses this election — and I believe he will — there will be another pretty leftist with a slick message coming along in 4 years, emboldened because Obama will have gotten so far. I guess what I'm saying is that it's only a matter of time. Nearly half the country has shown they will vote for someone in the vein of a Hitler, Chavez or Castro, so more than half the nation will eventually. It's sad. I really think history will record the campaign of 2008 as the seeds of the next American Civil War.

I don't watch a lot of television so I don't have to hear a lot of his ads (then again, I live in Texas. Are there any Obama ads playing in this state? ).

But once when our receptionist was out at work I was the one stuck doing front desk duties for the day. The partners like for us to play CNN in the lobby. CNN decided to cover one of Obama's speeches that day. I lasted two minutes before turning the volume alllll the way down. Fortunately none of the partners said anything about it. I really feel sorry for our receptionist having to listen to that all day long.

Did anyone catch that yesterday Obama was talking about McCain and put up his middle finger. He did the same thing with Hillary. At the precise time he mentions their name, his middle finger went up to his cheek.

Does anyone know of where I can get a McCain or a McCain/Palin yard sign? I have never put up a yard sign ever, but this year I really want to.

Do you have a local Republican chapter? I know ours is giving away bumper stickers, buttons and yard signs. Surprising that they bother given this state is solidly blue.

Sometimes when listening to an OS, or reading a post by one of the more fanatical, the movie "Triumph of the Will" immediately comes to mind. Same vacant glassy look in the eyes of the masses.

I'm not comparing BO to Hitler, but I do now realize how someone like him could come to power. Charisma, promises, etc.

Okay that is good !

I am really bummed and I know this is OT but I should just eat the whole thing. Freak accident today. I took off my wedding band while in the car to clean it (I KNOW stupid but I carry the cleaner with me in my purse, I never said I was not strange). Well I cleaned it and then I was going to wait till we parked to pour bottled water over it to wash off the soap. WEll I put it on the console where the shift is and .......it FELL INTO THE PART THAT SHIFTS!!! CAN YOU BELIVE IT? OMG I am frantic. I am torn. I HOPE It does not screw up the shift but then again it is a diamond eternity band. The car is 6 months old! DH is not happy. I am hoping to get a piece of wire with duct tape on it and try and pull it out. Any suggestions? OH and he needs the car tomorrow for a business trip. So forget the low cholesterol....give me some artery clogging, heart stopping junk food.

YOU KNOW I just realized whose fault this is.....it is Sara Palin , John McCain and George Bush's fault. If I had not been so bored listening to BO on the radio I would have not cleaned my ring. IF any of those afore mentioned people had been democrats they would have aired thier speechs and sound bites. and I would have been interested and not looking for something to do on the way to Newport.
Once again it is Bush, McCain and most of all SARA PALIN's FAULT!! Not only does she hate animals...she hates people who wear eternity rings too!

Go to www.johnmccain.com You can order from there, or find out where your nearest office is and pick up there. I found them on another site last night. It was a gop site but I can't remember the address!

We just had a temp. one open a short time ago. It is a very small little local place, no set hours or anything. (we live in a very small town) DH went down there but they were out of yard signs and haven't received any bumper stickers yet

They had plently of yard signs for local races, but I only wanted a McCain one

DH won't let me put up a McCain sign in the yard. He doesn't want his patients driving by the house and then arguing with him in his office.

I wonder if the Republican office here in town will let me volunteer for them without having to deal with the public. DH doesn't want to ruffle any feathers.

I am planning on getting a bumper sticker for my car and a button to wear, but I really want the sign.

If you have a dealership open today, GO! You'd be surprised what they can easily take apart in the interior of your car w/o causing any damage at all. You'll get your ring back, and safe the gear shift from jamming!
