The Big Cheese is looking good for 80. :thumbsup2

I loves me some Rankin-Bass shows too! I hope ABC Family is doing that "25 Days of Christmas" programming block this year. That's been a nice tradition in recent years for our family to enjoy some of those old classics they show.

Ya know, I love all those oldies too, but my kids don't like them. They just don't get it, I guess. To them it's just really crummy animation. :confused3 I bought some of them on vid and they groan if I force them to watch them. Sigh...

My must-sees are the Grinch (original animated), It's a Wonderful Life, and the Charlie Brown Christmas special. My husband's must-see is A Christmas Story. He says it is his whole dysfunctional childhood wrapped up with a red bow. :lmao:

If she does take SoS, can you imagine the fireworks between her and MO? Not to mention the fact that most of H's staff are previous Clinton appointees -- Dick Morris called it a recipe for helplessness on H's part.

I call it a recipe for great entertainment.

i find it HILARYous the way she says his name....barrack....with that mom-ish expression on her face...like she's talkin' to a silly little kid.

Thanks! I've been lurking for a couple of months now, and I can't tell you how many times I've stared at the keyboard wanting to jump in.

Thanks for making me feel welcome!

I forgot to welcome you when I posted so....WELCOME! Don't stare at the keyboard, jump in any time! We don't bite. :)

A Christmas Story is and always will be my all-time favorite Christmas film.:lmao:

Hiya! Welcome to the DIS and to the thread. Pull up a chair! :wizard:

Hello to all. I'll be around for awhile; making a spreadsheet of all of the 7 for 4 WDW hotel rates. I might be booking in the next couple of days, although I still have no idea where or even when. We shall see, I suppose.

Did y'all see on TV last night, either CNN or MSNBC (can't remember which) where Obama will be having his mother-in-law live with him in the White House? Now, he could very well have a great relationship with her, I have no idea; but if she's anything like some of the mother-in-laws people in my family and many of my friends have... uh oh! :rotfl:

Yeah, I saw that. Wow!! :scared1: MIL in the White House... should be interesting.

It sounds like a pitch for a sitcom, doesn't it? I'd cast the lady who played Aunt Esther on "Sanford and Son" as the MIL. She was great! :lmao:

I need to try The Ref, too.

Besides the CB Christmas Special, Rudolph, et al, my staples are some oldies but very goodies ...

The Lemon-Drop Kid [from the 50s with Bob Hope]
The Man Who Came to Dinner [from the 40s with Bette Davis]
Desk Set [from the 50s with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy]

 I can't believe y'all haven't seen The Ref! It's hysterical.

Oh, and Desk Set is one of my all time faves!!!!

I also HAVE to watch Christmas in Conneticut with Barbara Stanwyck (sp?) .

Hey everyone! Glad to see this thread still going strong even after the election! :thumbsup2

I just read the news clipping about the drunk driver eating his own underwear and all I could think about was skid marks!
 :rotfl2:

Maybe eating one's own underwear causes premature aging. :confused3 Sure would be rough on me. :scared:

My underwear are too pricey to eat. :snooty: VS undies aren't cheap.
If I want cheap edible underwear I'll buy them at kmart.

Obama picks his AG. Another Clintonoid and get this, the first black AG!!! Woo hoo!!! :cool1:

It really makes me wonder if the "first black" (insert official position here) is only meaningful when they are Dems. Did the Dems/Libs make a huge deal when Powell was picked? Or Rice? How did the Latinos react to Gonzalez?

I am amazed at how many Clintonistas are joining up for this administration. I knew there would be some, but this is becoming quite a roster!

Good point about "First (insert ethnic minority here)..." :thumbsup2
