But you've observed one from a mile off? ;)

Yup... when my administrative assistant says she's having one I tell her it's OK to crank the AC. I just put on my cardigan sweater and mittens, and don't ask about any details.

Here here! :thumbsup2 I understand the disappointment of some about votes in CA etc.
I still expect more general jubilation from OSers. I haven't ventured out on the CB much lately, but folks report back here about how vicious it is out there. And I've seen a thing or two myself. I just wonder what gives with all the testiness right now from those who backed a winner last week.

You know Zip we're damned if we do and damned if we don't. :confused3 Personally I'm beyond happy, I'm thrilled. But you know as well as I do if I shout it loudly I'll get crap for rubbing it in  .

Would you point me towards the vicious posts, please. I seem to have missed 'em.

And Rick, I'm disgusted about the measures that passed in AZ, FL and CA. But hold on, honey, change is comin'. It's going to take a little while longer but it really is coming. As of today same-sex marriages are occuring in CT! :thumbsup2

I was new when I fist posted a couple of pages back. Don't I get a welcome? :sad1: ;)

That is so not right. :sad2: I am embarassed we missed welcoming you aboard. Here's a kitten and rainbow picture to honor the moment...

They will either be oblivious to what he does.:sad2: or be happy he's bringing "hope and change".
You got that right. They really don't care. If I hear "hope and change" one more time.....
Hope and change!
...and change and hope...and hope and change...and...........:rotfl2:

Did anyone see the movie, "Idiocracy" (great movie, by the way!)

Reminds me of the OS...

Here's an excerpt from the movie:

[cabinet has been debating putting water on the plants instead of Brawndo]
Pvt. Joe Bowers: What *are* these electrolytes? Do you even know?
Secretary of State: They're... what they use to make Brawndo!
Pvt. Joe Bowers: But *why* do they use them to make Brawndo?
Secretary of Defense: [raises hand after a pause] Because Brawndo's got electrolytes.

Repubs: What *is* this change and hope? Do you even know?
OS: That's... what Obama is going to use to change the country.
Repubs: But *how* is he going to change the country?
OS: With hope and change.

Obama's got what Dem's crave. Obama's got electrolytes!
"Ow, My Democracy"

Actualy, if you watch the movie, Brawndo is a metaphor for the Obamunist movement.

"America has become an Obama-nation."

Now there's the spirit! I was beginning to think OSers were going to have a case of the grumpypants right into the next decade!

Rubbing it in? By no means! The only "rubbing in" I know of has to do with massage oil or foot ointment. :cool1:

Vicious posts? Thanks but no thanks. I'll pass on the bait today. Such a subjective thing isn't it?

Remind me to NEVER reply to a political thread again. Just had a heated PM exchange. They just don't see that they are the intolerant ones with their snarky and vile comments and don't forget the arrogance.

:grouphug:

HI everyone! I'm back and kind of loopy (what else is new? LOL) The MRI went well and although I was awake for most of it, I didn't flip out or anything.

I'm glad it went well. I was praying for you.

Ok, I know y'all may not be going out on the CB, so here it is...

Thanks, breezy...I'm not venturing off this thread. I'm going to try your recipe.:)

Hi conservatives...count me in your numbers :thumbsup2

Welcome! :cheer2:

I was new when I fist posted a couple of pages back. Don't I get a welcome? :sad1: ;)

Oh, I'm sorry...Welcome! :cheer2:
(and since I missed you the first time, you get the dancing banana, too )

OMG! I am so sorry! I guess I see you EVERYWHERE and when you are here, I assumed ...well...nevermind...lost my train of thought.

WELCOME!!!!!! pixiedust: :jumping1: :welcome:

Thanks :teeth:

Paulson admits bailout not working...

Paulson Shifts Focus of Rescue to Consumer Lending

By John Brinsley and Robert Schmidt, bloomberg.com

Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson plans to use the second half of the $700 billion financial rescue program to help relieve pressures on consumer credit, scrapping an effort to buy devalued mortgage assets.

``Illiquidity in this sector is raising the cost and reducing the availability of car loans, student loans and credit cards,'' Paulson said today in a speech at the Treasury in Washington. ``This is creating a heavy burden on the American people and reducing the number of jobs in our economy.''

Paulson's remarks are an acknowledgement that the pitch he made to Congress for the bailout hasn't delivered what was promised. Paulson sold the Troubled Asset Relief Program as a way to rid bank balance sheets of illiquid mortgage assets, and he may encounter resistance from Congress for the remaining $350 billion after using most of the first half to buy bank stakes.
