And is it just me, or does this guy seem to be having a problem waiting his turn? Going around with his little "Office of the President Elect" (didn't even know there was such a thing as an office of the PE) podium, giving speeches and talking about the orders he's going to be giving...seems to me like that's the kind of stuff you do during the race, and then you shut your mouth and wait until you are actually in the White House. I don't remember any other president-elect going around acting like he was already in charge. Almost seems like he's expecting Bush to say "Here you go, man, here's the keys. All yours."

I've thought this, too. The arrogance of this guy is staggering...:snooty:

*waving* I've missed you guys! I'm trying to cut back on my net time. Or maybe the economy is just totally depressing me. Either way, I've still missed ya'll!

Hiyaz Hockeymom.

Okay, totally OT but since this is kinda my "home" here, I wanted to share a funny with you guys. I posted a picture of my grandson for you guys when he was born. My daughter is Caucasian, and the baby's father is half Puerto Rican and half Japanese. Anyhow, so last night they were over here for my daughter's birthday, and the baby's father tells me that one of his uncles (not one of the Japanese ones) was over to see the baby last week, and was admiring him and cooing over him, then suddenly asked, "Why does the baby look Asian?" He said they all stared at him for a minute and then just burst out laughing. Ummmm....because HE IS??? Maybe he meant that he wondered why he didn't look more Caucasian since my daughter is so light skinned and blue eyed. My grandson has black hair and definitely looks just like his daddy. It just came out SO funny! I've been giggling about it all day.

I don't think Christians should be bashed because we're not perfect. That's why we have grace.
Should we set forth an example? Yes. But don't bash when we fail.

Tink - I should have clarified -- I meant bashing against those who set themselves up as leaders of churches/Christian organizations, then act immorally/unethically. Yes, grace is needed - and I'd love to see it more in churches.

While I've heard Ann C. on TV, I've not read her books. Are they good? I love to read and I have been thinking I need to visit Books A Million soon.

I just can't resist, it's an occupational hazard - but I cannot let you go to a bookstore when I know there have to be AC books at your local library! You can really find out if you like them then.

Actually, her books are collections of her columns - is this true, AC fans?

*waving* I've missed you guys! I'm trying to cut back on my net time. Or maybe the economy is just totally depressing me. Either way, I've still missed ya'll!

Hi! Did you have a smoke-free day today?

I'm predicting it will be (individually) the day after they die.

I was reading an article about that this morning; that he is planning on starting off with a string of executive orders to jump start his plans for change without having to deal with Congress.

And is it just me, or does this guy seem to be having a problem waiting his turn? Not just you. I was thinking the same thing. I am 40 years old and I can't remember a President Elect ever acting this way before. It is kinda weird if you ask me. Shouldn't he be off having a last vacation before the new job or something?

Not trying to be a thread hog, but I have a question, and this is the only place on the CB I feel safe asking it. :thumbsup2 .

I will try to explain what I heard as best I can ha ha. Feel free to ask questions and I will try (keyword is try lol) to clarify.

Did anyone hear today all the talk about the Dems "discussions" on private 401K's and retirement plans? I only caught the last bit of a snipit, but it was something to the effect of they want to 'confiscate' 50% of all private retirements upon death and redistribute it and give the other 50% to our heirs??? Has anyone else ever heard this and can someone please tell me I heard it wrong? I am hoping it was just an over zealous radio news guy. They were pretty clear that it was just simply being "discussed"...not sure what they meant by that either.

Hi friends! Totally random and off topic but Curt Warner is having a good night, I like him so much.

My DS got his drivers license today! :woohoo: He has had a permit since last Thanksgiving. And we have had him behind the wheel as often as possible in all kinds of weather and traffic. It payed off today! I admit it was really a hard Mom moment to watch him drive off to school though. :scared: I don't mind extra prayers for his safety from my Dis buddies! ;)

AP, I'm so glad things worked out! Thank goodness.

looked like she was slicing open sausages and putting cheddar cheese in the middle....and i think they were on a baking sheet, so probably it'll get all melty and good in the oven (says the vegetarian...) and there was a stock pot next to it, so maybe that's the moose chili (again, says the vegetarian).

I think it was on GretaWire (her blog on the FNC site) that they were moose hot dogs. :scared: I know it's a regional thing, but I still can't get over the fact that people eat moose. So says the grilled chicken person and non-adventurous eater, anyway. :rotfl:

You win - you can have him *backing away from dream-boy Sean* I've seen what happens to people who get into a fight with you!!! ;) And I like my job, thank you very much...

Hey, did you see my post last night? I told you to put your sharp elbows away and that I will step aside and let you pursue T&G's friend. I'm more interested in nanner's 25 year old law student guy. :lmao:

anybody here a fan of dancing with the stars?:cool1: :woohoo: :dance3: :cool1:

Me! Not thrilled with the cast this season though. I guess I want Cody to win, or Brooke. Can't really complain though, seeing as my fave won three seasons in a row (Apollo, Helio, and then Kristi).

While I've heard Ann C. on TV, I've not read her books. Are they good? I love to read and I have been thinking I need to visit Books A Million soon.

You have to have a certain mindset when reading her books. She can be very snarky and sarcastic. There are some things she writes that go overboard IMO, but by and large she has a very funny take on things. I agree with a lot of what she has to say. My personal favorite book of hers is probably How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must) ( :rotfl2: ), which contains excerpts of her columns over the years. Her latest, If Liberals..., is the same type. Treason, Godless, and Slander are traditional books. I've never read High Crimes & Misdemeanors, as I have no desire to re-live the Clinton saga. :upsidedow

Hey, AP, I must have missed a post from you in the chaos (man we talk a lot). Does SD's post above mean that things went well with your issue at work? I really hope so.

As a mom that has been through it twice; I know where you are coming from. It sounds like your DS is responsible and that you have done a good job teaching him by letting him drive a lot. I will offer my prayers anyway. :)

It is a tough day, ain't it? Kinda like the first day of Kindergarten. :grouphug:

Definitely, I will pray. Mine is not much ahead of yours. Mine got her hardship about a year ago but got her unrestricted license when she turned 16. The only difference was that I did't have to put in writing where she was allowed to go and she can have more than a sibling with her. I still limit her to one rider. I am still nervous. I make her let me know as soon as she gets to every destination so I know she's safe.:goodvibes
