He makes it hard for us to like him. He is so full of himself.

At his press conference today he even made a slam at Nancy Reagan:

when asked if he’s talked to any former presidents seeking advice, Obama said he’s spoken to “all of them.” Then he corrected himself: he meant all of the living ones.

“I didn’t want to get into any Nancy Reagan thing about doing séances,” Obama quipped, drawing laughs from the press.

He is my President and I will respect the office, but he acts like an immature buffoon and needs to remember what office he was elected to and start acting like he belongs there.

It will be easier treating him with respect when he starts showing some respect to the office and to all of us that may disagree with him on some issues.

And he thinks things like that are FUNNY???:sad2: Ugh.....

I so agree with you.

I cannot believe he made the Nancy Reagan comment. I have been really trying today to just move on. He won, he's our president. I have to respect that.

I read the other thread and see them make fun of us, call some of our screen names out, refer to our current adminstration as bags of crap then scream bloody murder if we name call or don't show respect. It all makes me sick

Bottom line, I am trying. But if President Elect Obama makes comments like that, it makes it really hard.

So all of you from the other side who have joined our thread, go ahead and lurk, make fun of us, we lurk too. So you aren't the only ones that see some inconsistencies going on around here.

oh...about Sarah Palin...

She has a proven track record of taking the trash out, and the ones who have been so quick to try and destroy her know that when she comes into a position of power over them, they'll be thrown out with the rest of the garbage.

I like that image...! :rotfl2:

I love Sarah Palin. She is the only reason I voted for the Republican ticket. The ONLY reason.

:goodvibes

Tink, you're not helping me - is this a decent price?

Should we stay onsite or stay offsite to save a little money? What is Riverside like? Is it nice? We've only stayed at the Contemporary - it was WONDERFUL. Am I going to be disappointed in staying in a moderate? I'm a hotel snob, not so much for decorations, but for cleanliness. Is it clean there? How's the pool?

So many questions - guess I should head over to the resort board, eh?

We stayed at Riverside. It's beautiful. Pool's great and they have several nice quiet pools. Landscaping is lush and gorgeous, I really loved walking around the resort. It was so peaceful and pretty. Food court had a good selection, but long lines. There is a lot to do there from the fishing hole to carriage rides. The room was spotless, although a touch small for five people. We spent very little time in the room, so it was fine. I think you'll love it. We did.

I think the Nancy Reagan comment was not only immature, but displayed his lack of sensitivity. That remark is really going to piss a lot of people off. He's certainly not putting forth a thoughtful effort in being much of a uniter.

Blestmom-sent you a PM :goodvibes

Tink-I homeschool 2 of my kids as well, albeit in a very strange way. (I do some subjects and they do some with their step-mom) and they are part of a co-op as well. I'll be happy to share some of my info as well. Every state has different requirements so be sure to find out what yours are. Here in Texas we don't have any regulation, so we do a variety of curriculums all mixed together.

He makes it hard for us to like him. He is so full of himself.

Well, you've hit the nail on the head, for me at least. One thing I really can't stand...in anyone...is arrogance. :snooty:

Are you serious? Oh my goodness...that is just awful. Wow. Just when I think he can't stoop any lower...:sad2:

good grief...not only did I miss like the last 20 or so pages of the last thread, I wake up and see there's a new one and it's nearly 40 pages in already!!!

I can't remember if I posted or not, but Jacob didn't make it home on Tuesday. Monday he had ALOT of things done and they took their toll on him, and he had a "brady" episode, which means his heart rate dropped more than 50% below normal, and he stopped breathing for more than 20 seconds. The nurses had to pick him up and stimulate him to get him started breathing again. The doctor that morning had said she felt it would be better to hold off another day or two before discharging him. At first I was a little ticked but in hindsight I'm so thankful. Had I taken him home or even roomed in with him that night he would have died while in my care because he wouldn't have been on the monitors that went into alarm when he stopped breathing.

Because of that, he's on a 5 day "countdown" where he has to go 5 days without another episode before they will consider discharging him again. He's got 3 days down so far and he's in the midst of day 4 right now. We're looking at Sunday night rooming in and Monday discharge now.

Since he had not had any episodes prior to this one, they are pretty sure it was just stress from having to much done to him in such a short time. He got a HepB shot, circumcision, tylenol, change in his milk fortification, new bottle to feed from, and increase in breastfeeding (he's only on breastmilk but getting it from a bottle for 5-6 feeds per day-we went to 3), all in the course of just a few hours.

I think of all the things that any new mother fears, and having him stop breathing is probably my worst one, because he could do that when I'm not there. I'm not pushing anymore to get him home, I'll just bide my time and let him get stronger first...besides, Tuesday is my 1st wedding anniversary, so we'll have something else to celebrate :)

That sounds so scary. You're doing the right thing by keeping him at the hospital. He just needs a little more time to get stronger. He'll be home before you know it. Hugs to you  This must be so hard.

And he thinks things like that are FUNNY???:sad2: Ugh.....

Of course the press corps laughed at the comment. :sad2:

They even had a logo that said something like "office of President Elect". You mean to tell me he needs a logo to let us know what his job classification is? Plus he said Uhh or Umm 165 times in 16 minutes, including 23 times in his first answer alone( a local radio station counted...not me:rotfl: ). Of course the OS are telling us that we can't pick on him for being the 'Wizard of Uhhs' because he used to have a stuttering problem when he was little and can't help it. I guess that it is OK to pick on Sarah Palin because of her accent though!

I really need to stock up on a lot of duct tape to keep my head from exploding over the next 4 years!:rotfl:

I thought it was Joe Biden who had the stuttering problem as a kid.

I don't get it...I got points for quoting an article that described the procedure for a late-term abortion that Obama SUPPORTED, yet that abortion thread is allowed??:confused3

Someone reported you is probably the reason for your points. Besides a lot of the OS can say all they want that they are not pro abortion-I call BS on them.
Abortion is as acceptable to them as having a tooth pulled.

He's a wad of used muddy toilet paper.

That is what I thought, but the OS scolded a poster that dared to post A thread complaining about all the Uhhs and Umms. They said it is sad hateful to pick on someone with a disability.

I'm catching up on all the posts since I left y'all. And I see where Obama has his service program on his super-duper President-Elect website. And now I shall sit back with my arms folded across my chest with a smirk on my face while I wait for some of my Obama supporting colleagues to tell me "You mean he really is going to do that? That wasn't some... some... GOP smear against him?" I must say, as ticked off as I am about all of this, there is something to be said for at least thinking the gratifying "I told you so" phrase.

You've got that right. Living in Wasilla, I know first-hand just how smart and savvy she is. That is why all the talk of her being 'dumb' is just so ridiculous...and maddening. They are threatened by her. They just don't know what to do with a smart, savvy, capable, effective, likable, conservative, female politician. So they attack her...

If she were a smart, savvy, capable, effective, likable, liberal female politician, they would fawn all over her.

Oh that's exactly true. It's nothing to do with her intelligence, her experience, anything. It's all about the fact that she's a conservative female, and thus flies in the face of the women's movement that's been hijacked by liberal females.

A while back Glenn Beck talked about the left and abortion. He read some quotes from an interview with Dr. Peter Singer, who holds the chair of Bioethics at Princeton University. Dr. Singer said that Roe vs. Wade was too restrictive. Now remember that this guy heads up the Bioethics dept. at Princeton. Dr. Singer believes that parents should be able to abort their babies even AFTER they are born and believes it could be as late as the age of 2!

it is so sad that a person could feel this way about a child, be they born or unborn.:sad2:

I know I shouldn't be surprised about anything these colleges and universities do, but I was drinking tea from McDonald's while reading this and I dropped my tea cup. Advocating the murder of children, and yet this man is allowed to teach why? Oh yes, the ever infamous "tenure" cruddola.

MM, go to WDW! Have a great time! I don't think you'll regret it. We weren't going in 2009 probably, but that "Buy 4 Get 3 Free" deal that came out last night probably changed that. I'm about to go look up rates now. Just don't know if I'd want to go in March for Braves' spring training or wait until May like I did this year. May was the best weather and best crowd levels I've ever dealt with at Disney, plus I liked the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot.

You guys will have to forgive me, as my typing and spelling skills stink
I am also not very eloquent on paper.....

I know we are very disappointed the BO is now our president-elect
Some of the posters are demeaning that fact by saying he is not my President
Like it or not, America voted and he got the most votes
We need to be respectful of the office of the President
By dismissing BO we are lowering ourselves to their slimmy tactics
We should show them how gracious we are
We need to bring them UP to our level
To do other wise makes us just as bad as them
I hope you guys dont hate me

We promise to give Barack Obama the same respect that the liberals have shown President Bush. Joe Biden will get as much as Dan Quayle did. :thumbsup2

I do respect the office of president and the system that elected him. He will get a fair chance. But I got my eye on him!

That is what I thought, but the OS scolded a poster that dared to post A thread complaining about all the Uhhs and Umms. They said it is sad hateful to pick on someone with a disability.

Interesting. I wonder if that is more sad and hateful than making fun of people for respecting a former president who is no longer living.

Yea and meantime., they can criticize soups to nuts and make fun of anything they choose. I think they believe since that guy won it makes them kings and queens:rotfl: :rotfl:.

Is this code for no respect?

1 word to describe them-classless

El freako Rev Wright is claiming that the media used him as a "weapon of mass destruction".:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
