What a sweet puppy, blestmom. Your dh found him outside?? Poor little guy must have been freezing.

Name the puppy Ronnie or Reagan.

That was my idea, Nanner!

But, blestmom has told us that her DH, as wonderful as he may be, isn't quite as conservative as we are. So.....ya know, Rush calls him Ronaldus Maximus - maybe she could call him Max, in our secret squirrel code...

I do love Caribou, too -- Bou-bou for short. And Moose is great ...

No, he didn't find him outside. He 'told' me he was running an errand, but he had been planning this for some time...for our 21st wedding anniversary.

You're too funny, Debbie! :rotfl2:

Hello my friends!

I just got back from a major fundraiser for our school (Catholic) and I had so many people tell me that I look like Sarah Palin. I had my hair done and apparently, I look just like her.

I gave a couple of speeches on energy for kicks and giggles. It was fun.

My hair is hard as a rock with all of the hairspray. I'd post a picture, but we took none.

Our table was a RIOT. It was a live auction and I'm surprised we didn't get kicked out. Catholics and liquour add up to a lot of money being raised for the school.

Have a good night - gonna pass out now.

We're experiencing a similar thing in our county. We get duped each and every time. Last time was the Library tax. Who can refuse that? Except that once the county got their Library tax they slashed county expendatures on the library. Now the library is worse off than before the tax. This last election we voted to give ourselves a higher sales tax again! (to fix the roads this time) I anticipate a greater number of potholes in the not too distant future. But on top of all that The Governator wants to raise my sales taxes to pay for the fiscal irresponsibility of our Democraticly controlled government. Sheesh! And they wanted to recall my representitive (Jeff Denham) because he had the audacity to tell them that they were spending like madmen!

Amen, brother!

About those potholes. Maybe you can get the media ***** L.A. Mayor Tony Villar there to fix them. He's filled a million potholes here you know.
When I saw him on stage with BHO I about threw up. If he's one of his advisers my confidence in the Obama Administration just took a nosedive.

:rotfl: Maximus........that's too funny. I didn't know that about your DH, blestmom. Ok, so Ronnie or Reagan is out. I like the squirrel code though..........gotta remember that in the future. ;)

   what a guy....

[sigh] I bet Todd does stuff like that....

I bet Ron did stuff like that....[sigh]

*slinking back into my single-blessedness, trying very hard to remember that I'm okay with it*

I think it's way too early to decide who the most viable candidate for 2012 will be. As far as Palin being tarnished....nah....people have a short attention span and memory. It's what she does between now and then that really matters. MHO She'll be a little tougher and seasoned. It will totally depend on the climate....in other words...how bad BO and his cronies mess things up.

::yes:: At this point, we won't have any clue who the viable candidates are until around the beginning of 2011. By then you'll have a better idea of what the major problems will be, what the climate is like, how the midterms went, etc. For all we know, something major could happen on the foreign policy front and that could become the top issue again. Then we would need someone with some direct experience in that/terrorism. I don't know who you'd turn to in that situation other than Giuliani ( :crazy2: ) or Newt because Jindal, Palin, Romney, and Cantor aren't experts in that. Not that Rudy and Newt are either, but they've had more direct foreign policy dealings than the others.

'm thinking no to Huckabee.. what about Rudy?

Btw, please send happy thoughts my way. In the middle of unemployment I decided that I need to once and for all quit smoking. Mind you, if I was working, I'd be smoking almost nothing because I didnt on the way to work, or at work. Now, I'm smoking way too much.

I quit at 1:00 today on the way to hockey.

(yeah, I know I don't fit the profile... blame DH!) (Then again, DH quit two years ago!)

You can do it! :cheer2: My dad smoked for about 15 years before he quit cold turkey when he and my mom found out I was on the way. He never touched a cigarette ever again. He said it was hard, but he did it. And so can you!

k...i give up...can you tell us? in super secret squirrel code or something?

:rotfl2:

Tons of prayers coming to you. Hockeymom - please quit -- your family needs you much to much. I smoked in college but quit cold turkey many many many years ago. My DH smoked and had unsuccessfully tried to quit for 6 years. One day this August, I received the phone call from my sister than my Dad had lung cancer. By the time, he was diagnosed it had spread to his liver and his brain. Yesterday, they moved my dad to long term hospice and the doctor told my sister to start making funeral arrangements. On that same day in August, my DH's sister called him. His grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and has to be placed in a nursing home. Her doctor said it was a combination of smoking and diabetes. My husband quit smoking that day. Cold turkey. Please, I am praying for you, quit- - too many people love you.

 Prayers to y'all, AP.

Zip - how did you find a childhood picture of Joe Biden?
:rotfl2:

ugh....it's Christmas already!??!?! I'm so not ready for that, yet.

But you go, Oh omnipresent one!

Is it still snowing in AK?
They started playing Christmas music on one of our radio stations on November 1st. They went from a Halloween-ish song that ended at 12:00am and picked right up with "Silver Bells." :sad2:

Have to say, not sure it's really coming from the McCain camp. Either way, if you can't come out and state who you are it's just trash talk, just another tabloid mag cover.

I agree on that. IMO, generally speaking, if you have some scandalous story to tell and you aren't willing to put your name on it, then you have an underhanded motive for saying it. And thus it's probably bunk.

Oh my goodness. My DH said he was going out to pick up a part for something...

...and he came back with....

a puppy! :goodvibes

NAME THE PUPPY CONTEST: i vote for Palin the Puppy

I like Palin the Puppy too! Or you could still name it Sarah. The therapy bills for the dog's ensuing gender identity crisis might not be worth it though. :rolleyes1

oh, Congratulations!! That is so cool!

See, this is what I think we Baptists need..........a little liquour! ok, just kidding.

Glad things went well Meghansmommy!

That sounds like so much fun!!

ok, about the puppy name. What are your kids leaning toward?

My sister had a little pug she named Bubba.......too funny! Then, ofcourse, there's Brutus.....that's cute for a little dog. :rotfl:

Hey, I just googled and found out Ronald Reagan's dog was named Rex. That's not too bad and it would be Super Secret Squirel code.

Yes, I think you really on the right track here. And you know, each of these people has their own area of experitise...so even if they aren't on the top of the ticket, they may be good for another position. Like I've said before, I'm excited that we have some good people coming up.:)

I was thinking much the same as you. I had ressies at POR but thought that with the savings I could upgrate to WL. But when I called, I was told that the only WL rooms that qualified for the 7 for 4 deal were studios. The resulting increase in my costs far outweighed my savings. I stuck with saving $700. Have the Disney Travel agent check out availiablity in all of the resorts you are interested in. As far as the Poly goes. I walked through it in 2006 and thought that it looked pretty 70's. A decade that I am not fond of! Good Luck!

Did you try looking on Disney's website? I was checking dates in March, April, and May, but they all had at least some of the Deluxe's available. The "Special Offers" page says it's for Values and Villas, but if you follow the link to the special reservations page, the offer popped up for every Deluxe that still had availability. The Floridian included.

I really don't think it's Huckabee. I don't think he has plans to run.

I agree with you, but I think some of Huckabee's people have other ideas, though.

Hey, I thought it was kind of interesting.

You know, I didn't follow the primaries THAT closely that I remember a rift between Mitt and Huckabee. I just didn't want Mitt because he just looks like the typical white, rich guy. I know that sounds awful, but when they thought McCain might pick Mitt for VP I thought, oh, great.....two white rich guys........we're never going to get anywhere. Then the next morning they picked Palin and I was freakin' out of my mind with delight.

Mitt seems like a nice guy and I probably agree with most of his policy stances, but he, well, he's not very exciting. I know, I know, we shouldn't pick according to that. But it would be nice to have an exciting, well-spoken, get you revved up, true blue conservative for once. That's what I like about Palin.

Yes, I agree. But if you can't get in the door to have a discussion.......your hands are kind of tied.

I really like Mitt, but if I'd throw my support to Sarah in 2012 if she wanted to run. I wanted him as the VP, and I was upset when Sarah was chosen because of that. But after her speech at the Convention, I was totally bowled over. Romney is now number 2 for me on my list of favorite conservatives. Sorry Mitt! :rotfl:

Here's the puppy!

Just look at that face...

Here's to show just how "big" he is...

DSCF4748.jpg

Aww! How adorable. I :lovestruc dogs, but I don't have the time to take care of one. And I have too many breakable Disney collectibles around the house, haha.

Ok, not to keep harping on the Reagan theme........but Wilson was his middle name, so ........Willie?

His nickname was Dutch.

I'm not too creative, can you tell? :rotfl:
