Toby: "sure, why not" he stood up, leaving the ball by Max. He walked into the goal and stood waiting for Max's first shot.

Max: Max looked at him, studying him like any good strategist would. Always try to figure out your opponent. One of the few actually useful things Dad taught. Then she positioned the ball and backed away. Her eyes were focused on the bottom left corner, but she was actually looking at the top right. She ran forward, trying to look like she was aiming for the bottom left corner, but when she kicked it, the ball sailed to the top right corner of the net.

Daniel: Daniel nodded.

Toby: Toby watched Max, he was smiling at first but then became more serious. When she kicked the ball he started going for the bottom corner, but then realizing where she had shot he reached his arm out to slap the ball away but only hit the ball with the tips of his fingers, the ball sailed into the net.

River: "so, do you want to play floor hockey, or ice hockey in college?" she asked Daniel, she wanted to learn as much about him as possible.

Toby: Toby watched Max, he was smiling at first but then became more serious. When she kicked the ball he started going for the bottom corner, but then realizing where she had shot he reached his arm out to slap the ball away but only hit the ball with the tips of his fingers, the ball sailed into the net.

River: "so, do you want to play floor hockey, or ice hockey in college?" she asked Daniel, she wanted to learn as much about him as possible.

Daniel: "Ice. Anytime we go to a city that has a rink, my brothers and I play." Then he caught himself. "I mean, when my brothers were in high school still we would all go. Now it's just me. I never join a team because we move too much, but sometimes coaches will go to the rink ad they'll give me pointers. Street hockey like this is just for fun. Like my music."

Max: A flash of a smile appeared on her face, but as soon as it arrived it was gone. "Nice try," she said.

River: "just wondering, when I was really little I used to dream about being a figure skater." she said laughing "I don't know why though, I hate people watching me and I can't skate. But at the time it sounded good."

Toby: "Thanks" Toby said smiling with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

Max: Max shrugged. "Sorry." Then she flopped down on the grass.

He couldn't remember the last time he had sat on the ground, he had always worried too much about getting dirty, but he was determined to prove to Max and to himself that he didn't care about his appearance that much.

He couldn't remember the last time he had sat on the ground, he had always worried too much about getting dirty, but he was determined to prove to Max and to himself that he didn't care about his appearance that much.

Max: Max shrugged. "Habit. I really should try to break it, but I'm not going to."

River: "I'll be right back" she said smiling. She hurried over to the shed and grabbed a hockey stick. Then she made her way back to Daniel, "I can pretty much promise I won't be very good, but wanna play?" she said smiling.

Max: Inside, Max gave a silent sigh of relief. He hadn't asked questions.

Max: Max stood again, and went back to playing. She'd rested long enough and was getting paranoid that the profesor was watching them.

Max: The repeated motion was calming. Max kicked the ball into the net again and again.

Max: Max kicked the ball into the net, expecting it to hot the back and stop. However, she missed, and it bounced of the post. It hit Max in her injured shoulder. Stumbling, she fell and landed on the ground. She stared at the sky in shock. Then, she tried to sit up and saw speckles of red drops on the green grass. Sugar. Really? she thought.

River: River reached Max and grabbed her right hand helping her up. "come on max let's go get a new bandage." she said calmly.
