I've finally gotten around to writing this weekend Trip my mate and I had in May!

We went out on the Eurostar on a Thurs and chose to splash out on Standard premier so breakfast was included which was croissants, roll, ornage juice, apple and yogurt and as many drinks as you wanted on the journey! It was a very quiet carriage and made all the difference when we finally arrived at Disney - all chilled and relaxed and ready to go Disney Mad!

We stayed at the Dream Castle for 3 nights as we had AP's, had a lovely room and the breakfast was fine, we did worry a bit after reading some reports that it wasn't great but we found it okay!

Thurs evening I discovered that I had forgetten my insulin pen needles - whoops - so after enquiring at the First Aid station if they could suggest anything they wrote a translation out for me, after pointing me in the direction of a chemist in Val D Europe. Have to say the staff at the First Aid post were brilliant, its like a mini A&E dept once inside, with a lovely reception area inside the entrance and treatment rooms and a trauma room of the main reception area, was really impressed!! 2 Drs came to see me and suggested I try the chemist as they didn't have the needles but if I couldn't get hold of them, to come back to them and they would manually draw up my doesage for me using a normal syringe and needle. Thankfully the chemist had what I was looking for!

We decided on the Fri to purchase VIP Fastpass at a cost of €60, to us it was worth every penny as we managed to ride BTM 15 times in one day!

We also treated ourself to a breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel, but I have to say that although the food was lovely, the service was awful! We waited about 15mins for a tea and coffe and got told off when we tried to help ourselves!

One thing we thought odd throughout our stay was the lack of restaurants / counter service open for food! Of the top of my head these places were closed when we went in May - Fuento Del Oro, Hakunah Matata, Lucky Nugget, Argbah Cafe (prob spelt wrong!), Beaver Creek. Most were closed at lunchtime and also in the evening!

We also missed out on Dreams because there was a huge thunderstorm with torrential rain and lightening, at the time we were in the studios trying to shelter but they wanted to shut the studios so made us all leave in the pouring rain! By the time we made it to the park we were soaked even though we had proper rain gear on! Then we were told that the parade had been cancelled due to the adverse weather and that they would decide later whether to cancel dreams or not. Have to say buy this point we were cold, dripping and just wanted to get back to the hotel and once we were back we couldn't be bothered to go back to the park - sorry for all you Dream lovers, but we were so cold we didn't want to go back outside just to be told that was cancelled as well. My tip for other people is if there is a show you want to see, plan to see it at the begining of your trip and not the last night like we did, that way if you can't see it, you still have a few more attempts at seeing it! We loved the parade though and it was nice t see the changes.

Our train ride home on the Sun was lovely and quiet in the Premier Carriage, the only thing we didn't like was the food offering! I can't remember what my friend had but I had a vegetable puree, a salmon and potato salad and then a fig puree for dessert, it tasted horrible and I didn't eat it, next time I will remember to take my own snack on board!

I'm not sure if this is something going forward but on the train home we were told that no one would be checking the passports on board the train but at our final destination, in our case St Pancras. When the train pulled in we were in carriage 12 and by the time we had walked down the platform, people were queueing on the walkway and then at a snails pace we queued to get through passport control. It took about 30 mins from getting off the train to getting through Passport Control, this has never happened before, usually we are off and exciting through the departure area! It also made us miss our connecting train home and we had to wait an hour for the next one, when previously we have been able to walk very fast and get the 8pm train home!

All in all, we had a wicked time, and this is probably one of our best weekend trips that we have ever done to Disney.:)

Great trip report :thumbsup2

You got some great service from the first aid CM's.

VIP fastpass is great too. We were lucky to get a free shareholders pass on one of our days, and it really helped us out. BTM 15 times :rotfl:

Shame you missed Dreams, but means you have a reason to go back soon ;)

Thanks for posting :)

Thanks for sharing, it's very reassuring to know the medical centre is so good.
Shame you missed Dreams, but means you have a reason to go back soon ;)

I agree, I mean it would be rude not to go back and see it! ;)
