we have been having these little tiffs over how many points to buy...I REFUSE TO FINANCE them...I say we should buy a smaller thing, pay cash, add to it when we have extra.., we will then still get the perks, and if we want to go more we use his airline discount...which by the was is about the same price...so really all we are going to be doing is getting perks....

I agree with this. When we did the tour about a year ago we were going to renew our CM status so we could get the CM discount on DVC. You can add points anytime so buy what you can afford now and then add on later. Lots of people do this I think. Our friends bought resale at OKW and love it. They stay all over the place not just OKW.

i collected cherry stems from them for my souviner... just kidding but DH wasn't happy to see my bar tab I had my cc tied into our room key and every day I would go up sit down at the pool bar, or maybe take one on the run, go back, go back....finally the guy ask me one night, you just want a tab?

I think its stupid for us to take a loan out, I also think that we need to consider where we can get the most points at...but I have to admit, the new one is so convenient...

ok, I will just talk to hear myself talk (or should I say type ), I don't like the looks of the new one, but I love the location, I love the SS, and it is close to downtown, ak has a sweet deal, but I have to admit that the animals don't do much for me...

No previous years working there but we left in good standing so we could go back with season privilidges which meant that we would have to work 1 day a year and still get the CM discounts. Pretty good deal if we want to buy DVC someday.

Shawna, if you had taken the job at the Disney Store, would that have counted? Well, I know you DID take the job, but it just didn't work out schedule wise. But would that grant you the privileges for DVC also? Or is that kind of CM different?

I worked for DS, we as mgrs. got very good perks, but I was not aware that you could go back for a day a year thing....everyone lost those perks when childrens place purchased them. From what I have been told Disney bought them back..

I have about talked myself out of AK, but you can buy less points than normal . I dunno, I kinda like the idea of being close to the park...we may be down there in 2 weeks to seal the deal...

No the job was still under the childrens place then. thats why I made the decision to not take it. If it was with Disney at the time I would have tried as hard as I can to go through with it.

I'm not sure how it works now. I know my old TDS manager said they are ironing out park benefits for CM's at the disney store now. she still works there.

I believe when he said CM at the time he was refering to WDW CM's.

No this was my WDW CM status not my DS CM status. WDW CM's can go back for 1 day a year as Casual Temporary status.

I can get hired anytime but we wont be going back for a long time so I wont do it.
