Hi guys....

We had a horrible storm run here on Sunday....We just got power back....most people are not expected to get it until Friday...So I guess we are lucky.

We didn't even know it was going to do this..so we were in the car taking a run up to Traders World...It was awful.

So my new grill that I had to buy after our Disney trip in July from the last storm....gone....my new patio set...gone.. AGAIN...

The lot that some company owns behind my house had dead trees on it....they took out my fence, deck, dog run..and busted my little table set for the rear of the yard...and MY SWING...I called the company and informed them that the DEAD trees were on everything I own in the back yard. They said oh well it was an act of God. What the idiots don't know is that The Act of God thing is only good for LIVING trees....with dead ones its property neglect. So I had my friend file papers today. We go on Oct 21 to have them pay for all damages. All we ask before was to fix the fence and dog run. Now they can pay for all of it...IDIOTS....

The kids are all still out of school..they are happy...ask all the parents how we feel..:lmao:

Hey Shawna! I am not a big sushi fan either.. It is pretty big here, sushi on every corner. Hubby and Alex love it, but Mikalah and I could care less. I DO like a good tempura roll... but that is cooked. ;)

I had tempura shrimp! yummy! :thumbsup2 I forgot I got that along with the teriyaki chicken!

yea, he told us to claim it on OUR homeowners. DH told him to stuff it he wasn't claiming anything that he should maintain the eyesore...should be fun. So today I have people cutting up the wood hauling it out, and putting a temp.fix on the fence so the dogs can go back outside.

now my freezer is filled with food from everyone I know..and DH and my GF's husband unloaded their freezer and brought it over here..(freezer and all)..they just filled it and they don't have any insurance for that type of thing..they have it on the home but did not take out any extras...

Last night there were 13 people here..:scared1:

Good Morning..........Barely....

Good Grief Gina!

Did the storm carry everything away? How scary! :scared1:

Wow what a house full and freezer full! All the cleanup you have to do. Wish I was close to help.

yea, I wish you could help too:lmao: this stinks....I was going to be nasty and toss what we cleaned up back on his lot but I am afraid it would backfire on me so I won't.

I really am not sure who will be here tonight. I know they have called off school for DS tomorrow because they still don't have power in the schools..(I think only 5 of the schools do.) But I am not sure about DD's school..they tend to wait until last minute.

what is really funny is that morning I had gone and picked up several bags of ice and water...for a zoo trip this weekend. I thought I should go on and get it so I didn't have to worry about it later. Thank god I did. most of the stores and gas stations havent been open. a few are though...but there isn't much left.

Wow, Gina, that's crazy!

And p.s., I bet if you have to make a dump run to haul off the guy's junk and anything of yours damaged by his fallen trees, you probably could tack that fee onto the total... ;)

I got an email from the library that a video I requested was in for me to pick up. So I dropped off DH's shirts at the dry cleaner and stopped by the library. It's called something like 'Raising Cain: How to Raise Boys' or something like that.

The video was recommended by the counselor at DS8's school, when I went in to talk to her about bullying. She thought it was a really good... (what's the right word? Investigation? Summary? Hmmm...) basically an in-depth look at how boys are different than girls, and the challenges in raising them in today's world. I'm eager to watch it! :thumbsup2

I was talking to the worker about building us one of those brick grill's...I dunno...he is going to talk with DH about the price....

no tv....the cable is not working...we watch news online and then we play games...it has been good family time.

Isn't that funny? The last time we lost power it was out for 4 days (longer for others.) We constantly had a fire in the fireplace when we were up, and did EVERYTHING together. We played games or read (if we could see :lmao: ), and at night did shadow puppets on the walls with a flashlight. The kids loved moving the light around (or a penlight) the wall because the cat would chase it ~ She got to play, too! :rotfl:

I like sushi but only if it's cooked. :rotfl: I love salmon teriyaki and shrimp and veggie tempura (except broccoli tempura because it just seems odd). I do like the B.S.C. roll which is the california roll with baked scallops on top. I also like the soft shell crab and this one roll that is a light brown pouch (I believe it's made out of tofu, not sure) and has sweet rice inside. I forget the name of it. My bf likes masago which is fish eggs and I always make a face when he eats it. :rotfl: My siblings LOVE sashimi and will eat the raw stuff.

A rather uneventful lunch...went to Freddie's, had pasta salad, sat in their little cafe and people watched, bought 4 loaves of bread and DH a birthday card. Wanted to buy 2 big bags of dog food that is on sale this week, but alas my car is not big enough!:lmao: That is unless I want to set the dog food in the seat with seatbelts round it! Figured that would make quite the sight going down the road. Now I know why I don't have a small car.

Then I went for a short ride...it's 82 degrees, had the top down, Phil Vassar's Six Pack Summer cranked on the stereo. So tell me why was it I came back to work after lunch?? :confused3 :lmao:

Beats me!!! :rotfl2:

UGH, I am soooo hungry!

My neighbor friend just emailed me asking if I'd like to hit one of my favorite restaurants for lunch near my birthday, which is a few weeks away. She's never had Lebanese food before but wants to try it, so I found the menu online and we're gonna go for it!

Now everything I have in the house for lunch pales in comparison, I sooo want to run down there right now and eat lamb kabobs and babajanoush and zahra!!! :goodvibes

Awww...how neat...brings back memories of when my kids were little and the light would go out. We put a pot of chili on the woodstove, played games, light grandma's old kerosene lamp.

Now if the lights go out all I hear is "How am I going to do my hair", "What do you mean we can't flush the toilet", "How flippin long until the lights are back on", "What's wrong with that stupid electric company", "Mom, you should just take us to town so we can find a place with electricity on...call the malls and see if they have power", "I need more batteries for my Nintendo DS", "can Dad set up the generator so I can charge my Ipod,:rotfl:

Beats me!!! :rotfl2:

My boss just called me a few minutes ago "Oh, you came back?". Like what did he really think I was going to just drive off!:confused3 Dude, I've been showing up here for work for 19 years now, that is unlikely to change!:lmao: His new car is also a convertible, so he said "boy, nice day for a convertible isn't it? I think I'm going to head down to the new house (under construction) and see how they are doing". Actually I think he was a bit disappointed that I came back from lunch, now he has to be responsible and come back also!:lmao:

Sounds yummy!! I've never had Lebanese food, but DD's goes with her bff's family all the time for Lebanese and said it's awesome. Guess I should try it sometime.
