The Chatterbox Hyena Thread

Did you see the thread about what is a true American patriot? Dems and Reps are all talking about the other being "unpatriotic" (which seriously annoys the you-know-what outta me!), so that thread made me laugh.

I hate this time of year. I hate all the damn signs everywhere, it's like litter everywhere, just grates on my last nerve. All the squabbling and name calling and exaggerations. I just want to scream, "Shut the @#&& up already!" Talk about real issues!

My dad, on the other hand, loves it. Loves bickering. Thinks it's hilarious. If he wasn't on the debate team in HS, he should have been. He'll argue about anything. Hence probably why I don't ever talk politics with him. :rotfl:

:lmao: about your dad. I love politics. I grew up with it because my mom was very involved but I hate debating. It gets so emotional and so few people (including me) truely know all the facts. mud gets slung around and it gets ugly. The thread I love to read though is the Sarah Palin hates animals thread because they have funniy cat pictures and its "tongue in cheek" Clearly its a humorous thread and not meant to make any statement. I have no clue how some of those pictures are taken though but they have me in stitches. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You know, last year was so traumatic for me, being 45. Mid-forties, for cryin' out loud!

This year I can't even say the number. I am not kidding. HOLY CRAP, it's so much closer to 50 than last year!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

ETA: OMG, I just re-read your ticker! I am ROLLING ON THE FLOOR!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Instead of a political banner I have that!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am currently at my moms house cleaning. Toilets are next and I'm avoiding them. Actually I dont mind toilets as long as they are at my house. I hate cleaning anyone elses. Even my moms:scared:

Oh, it's a funny thread? I thought it was going to be another  , so I didn't even open it. (I've read in the paper about how her parents' house has stacks of caribou antlers around the yard, pelts and stuffed animals inside. It's a little too grizzly for me... pardon the pun!) :rotfl2:

My dad hunts. I have no problem with hunting and using the meat/skin whatever. My dad is Native American, as well as a card-carrying member of the NRA, and I grew up with rifles on the wall of my bedroom, so I don't have a problem with it in general. But to hunt just to kill something, or hunting to excess, or to use high powered rifles or shoot them from a corral? I don't care for that.

I'm not so fond of cleaning OURS, so I feel your pain. :lmao:

So today is my 15th wedding anniversary. Poor DH, I don't even have a card for him! How sad is that? :sad2:

yeah, its a tongue in cheek thread. Then it just turns to funny pictures of cats somehow. :lmao:

No, I'd heard it was the new 30s! But the new 20s is so much better! :lmao:

See your day is looking up!

Happy anniversary!!!

We rarely do anything for our anniversary. This year is my brothers commissioning ceremony the day before and they are having a golf tourney on our anniv for the guys. Jeff and Jake are going and my bro said "but its your anniversary are you sure" Jeff and I are like "Yeah, after 11 years we are good!":lmao:

Ours is Dec. 20th and its always such a busy time of the year that we usually have a Christmas party to go to or something so barely any time for us.

What I think is really funny about the hates animal thread is every now and then someone comes in and tries to make a serious point and either they ignore it or just respond with a cat picture but it gets back on track to funny cats somehow.

I'm not a cat lover but these pictures just have me rolling.

Thank you. :)

Yeah, we don't really do anything anymore, but it makes me a bit sad, because it's not like we don't have reason to celebrate. DH asked before the business trip, "So do you want to go out to dinner, just the two of us?"

I said, "No, you're going to be on your trip! How's that gonna work?"
He said, "No, no, that's the day I fly back." (But he was getting back around 5 PM...)
I said, "You're going to be tired after a long flight, we don't have a sitter, I don't think I even own anything nice to wear anymore... Let's just have dinner at home."

Then I felt bad that I just sort of blew it off like that, he looked a little disappointed. :(

I know what you mean. This vacation was to be our huge 10th anniv trip. well, almost a year late;) but anyway, we were going to put the kids in the childcare and have a nice dinner and play in the parks or go to pleasure island. Well, Pleasure Island closes 5 days before we get there and we just couldnt decide on a restaurant. Part of the problem of working there is we ate almost everywhere and decided not much is worth the price. sTill kinda have that attitude 8 years later. :confused3

Going in the parks late one night for extra magic hours might work but I need to figure out a night. I'm afraid at this point I've waited too long and the Neverland club might be booked.

I just wanted to do something. :confused3 But at the same time it is a family vacation so I'm up in the air and its not really our anniversary.

Oh well.

You sound just like us. :rotfl:

We always said we'd return to Maui, our honeymoon location, for our 10th anniversary. Well, when our 10th was rolling around the finances were a little iffy, so we said we'd go the next year. And during our 10th anniversary dinner I was complaining about feeling lousy all week, and DH went  , "Did you take a pregnancy test?" I assured him it was just the usual pre-"." PMS, but he was kinda wigged, so I took the test a few days later. WHOAAAA, we had another baby coming! :scared1:

So the next year we had an infant. Not going to Maui for awhile now! :rotfl:

We were going to go last year, but I forget why we decided not to go; we went to DL instead. THEN we agreed that for sure we'd go for our 15th... Well, you know how that went. :rotfl:

Whoopsie, time to get the beastie! See ya later, Shawna. Good luck with those toilets. :flower3:

Shoot Alex,

I totally spaced and keep meaning to ask you. Its been FOREVER since I've flown with the kids. Over 4 years.

Do I need any sort of ID for them? Copies of birth certificates? Do I need state copies or just my copies? Did they even ask for them? I remember as babies I had to provide copies but I'm not sure if that was because they flew for free.

GOOD MORNING HYENAS!

I am so sleepy this morning. I even went to bed a bit earlier than usual last night but that didn't help much. I will definitely be sleeping in this weekend! :rotfl:

My bf and I plan to watch a movie with the free tickets I got from American Eagle. I need to check what movies are out.

Do you guys have anything fun planned for the weekend?

Well I was thinking of hopping on a plane and heading to Vegas.

Nope, no ID required...unless of course their name happens to be on the terrorist no-fly list...in which case doesn't matter how much ID you have...they're not going anywhere but on Greyhound.

I believe I'm having a mid-life crisis. SERIOUSLY!

I have this overwhelming desire to hop on an airplane and go to Vegas, find a 25yo cabana boy (can't print the rest here!) and just leave my DH & kids. I want to be young and free, I want to wear a mini-skirt and not look like my mother, I want to be one of Hef's girlfriends and I don't want to clean another toilet or do another load of laundry for as long as I live.
