We were at MK yesterday. The newly decorated castle is a tad gaudy! Looks like something Barbie & Ken would live in - but less pink.

How long is it to stay that way?


Edit: The pictures don't bring it out, but the gold color "clashes" with the castle's natural bluish-grey. Guess you have to see it for yourself . . .

Ok, I'm in the minority. I loved the castle cake. Bought the t-shirt with the 2 castles, one in the back the other in the front. Can't wait to see the new castle! Was going to go yesterday, but we ended up at Sea World.

We just returned and I have to say I really liked it, until they put up the big oval thing in the middle, which was a bit over the top.

But the flying characters and the gold trim are so neat! I loved them.

We were there two weeks ago and I really loved it; however, the mirror was not up yet so I can't comment on that. I liked the gold on the spires and the characters. I didn't see the birthday cake castle so I can't comment on that but definitely this is not over the top like the pictures of the cake I have seen. Still my favorite landmark in all of WDW.

I agree, if anyone is going soon PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take pictures and post them. I want to see it since I can't get away from this horrible vacation I'm on until MAY! I miss my house and most of all Disney! PLEASE POST PICS!

I really like the gold edging and the flying characters, but I agree that the "mirror" is a bit over the top!

We'll be there in 3 days, so I'll try to get some good pics then to post!

I liked everything they did . . . until the mirror! The gold trim is not over done, but that huge mirror is so out of proportion to the castle. Just my opinion.
