Do they have any animals that live there? I thought someone said that there were turtles that somerimes come up on the beach?

I stayed there a couple years back and all I can remember were ducks and birds.

I saw a turtle swimming in the water near Old Port Royale. I think the turtle likes to hang around the bridge with the fish food.

I've also seen ducks, lots and lots birds, lizards and squirrels at CBR.

I have not seen any live turtles but there are some stone ones in the sand at one beach. There are wild birds on the island though the parrots were gone last time I was there. You will see other kinds of birds all over the place. I have seen an armadillo right outside our room and a snake as well.

I have seen turtles swimming in the bay, and last year I had a whole family of ducks follow me practically back to my room (could it be because I was feeding them crackers along the way?

I also have seen rabbits in the bushes, very cute.

Gecko's seem to be everywhere as well.

Last June, we saw a fairly large turtle in the courtyard at Martinique. My kids were afraid that it was going to get to the parking lot and not be able to make it back to the water, but a cm assured me that it is fairly common and bus drivers know to look out for them and to call someone to come and get them if they are in the parking lot or on the roads and get them safely back to water. A word of caution: don't try to touch them, they are snappers!

As for other wildlife, we saw rabbits every morning in the courtyard. Ducks were everywhere, especially near the food court where people would feed them. The guests were often surprised that they couldn't get rid of the ducks; it seems once you feed a duck you have a friend for life!

CBR is a beautiful resort. We'll be enjoying it again soon!

Yes there are turtles at CBR. There are signs near OPR telling you not to feed the turtles.

yes ive seen turtles in the water. I have also seen ducks and birds.pirate:

What do you mean SNAKES!!! Please tell me this isn't so. We are supposed to stay @ CBR in June and I surely don't want to meet up with any snakes!!! I have endured those little gecko things and toads, but snakes are a whole different thing. If there really are lots of snakes around PLEASE let me know and I will change our reservation!! I HATE SNAKES!!!!

Thanks! Sorry about being such a big baby!!!

I have stayed at CBR many many times and have never seen a snake. I don't think they have a snake problem. I am sure every resort has them.

We have stayed there a few times and have seen turtles, fish, ducks and other types of birds. We love to feed the ducks - we are actually taking the auto train down next month and are bringing some bags of food to feed the ducks - those machines that cost 25 cents a pop really add up:)

We've stayed at CBR three times in the past four years and haven't seen any snakes. However, it is Florida and there are plenty of open spaces, so the presence of snakes is to be expected. This would not be a CBR only issue, I am guessing, but would apply to most WDW resorts.

We have seen turtles and ducks. The kids enjoyed watching the turtles swim. We thought they were cute.

I saw some people say that they had a problem with bugs, especially spiders? Is this true because if it is I may want to switch resorts if spiders are a big problem because I have a small phobia!

I have never had a problem with spiders. I also haven't seen people complaining about it either. I think you will be fine at CBR.

I have also stayed at CBR several times and have never seen a snake or a spider (THANK YOU GOD!). I have never even had a bug in my room! I kept hearing about all these big bugs in Florida and fire ants etc... (someone told me to make sure I didn't lean against a palm tree cuz I'd be bit up by fire ant), but I have never seen even one of them (again, thanks God and keep up the good work!)

I can testify there are fire ants in Orlando. I was planting flowers last week and was kneeling down. I felt my foot burning. I got bit about 8 times and it hurt. So be careful.

I hope everything is okay. That sounds awfully painful.

I've never seen fire ants on any of our trips to Fl. Don't mention that to DW or she will freak out. The only snake we have ever seen was at FW. Walking to the bus and my DW went to step of a twig in the road and it started to move. Want to see someone jump... It was dusk or a bit past so it was hard to tell it was a snake at first...until it moved.
