Lewis and I woke at 6.45. We chatted for a wee while, and then he fell asleep again. I thought, if he's sleeping then he must be tired, so I didn't wake the others until about 8.00 (I was sitting on my hands by this time). By the time everyone was showered and organised, we were at the park for about 9.00. It was very busy.
We went on Buzz first today. John, Mark and Abbey then went on SM while Lewis and I got on 'the big boys spacerocket' (orbitron). Then we went over to Fantasyland. There were already quite long wait times for Peter Pan and Dumbo, so didn't do them. It was also very hot by now. We walked over to see if ISAW might be open, but was not to be. So we went on the teacups.
By now it was 9.40 and decided to try for rope drop as the kids hadn't rode Big Thunder Mountain yet. As we came out of the Castle, the queue for Frontierland was about 20 people wide and 50 deep - huge. No big deal - I remembered a tip i'd read here - I told them that we should go to the beginning of the covered walk, just to the left of Liberty Arcade.
Two guys were sitting on the wall beside Caseys, no-one else was there. I stood a bit back from the rope with Lewis in the buggy, and John, Mark and Abbey stood in the shade. CM's were crossing the rope and going into a door, and I think my lot thought it was a private entrance or something - I got the feeling they didn't believe that we could go in that way. A few more people appeared and Mark and Abbey made their way to the front of the queue. A young boy - about 10 - pushed his way in front of them - but he was no match for my 2!! As soon as the announcement came over the loudspeaker the CM un-clipped the rope and everyone ran - well, not me or John.......
Mark and Abbey were at the front, and soon disappeared out of sight. John and I strolled along pushing Lewis in the buggy, and by the time we became level with the entrance from Main St, herds of people came running past us. We must have got in early. It was quite hilarious actually watching grown men and women running in flip flops and pushing prams etc to get to BTM. I glanced up towards Phantom Manor, and saw the wee boy who had been pushing and shoving....I think he maybe took a wrong turn
- I know, I'm evil...............
As we came along side BTM we saw the CM leading the queue round through BTM and Mark and Abbey were right at the front - proud as punch!!!
I grabbed some fastpasses for later - again using old park tickets, and when they came off the ride we headed back to the hotel for breakfast, again via Liberty Arcade - our favourite shortcut.
This morning we had breakfast in the Manhattan restaurant - it was lovely and spacious, and exactly the same food as the Parkside Diner. Lewis and Abbey had photos taken with Pluto and Goofy in the hotel - I did take pictures, but as we bought the professional ones later on I deleted them to make more room.
Back to Frontierland via our shortcut to use our fastpasses for BTM - but we only just made it. Mark and Abbey ran on ahead, and then John went on himself. I waited at the end for baby switch - there was no way Lewis would go on this. The CM I spoke to was really nice and let Abbey go on with me.
Then we went over to Woody's Roundup and waited 45 minutes in the queue!!! I don't normally do queues, but, and I don't think I've mentioned this before, it was really very hot - so when we were at something that was it - do it now or forget it.
We met Goofy and Pluto first:
Then Mickey and Minnie in their country gear:
Followed by the big guy himself (Mark's hero)
I enjoyed the roundup theme - would have liked to hear the song too
We left there and headed for Pirates - but it was closed
, so decided to go into Toad Hall for some relief from the heat - review is on the restaurant thread - we should just have had drinks because we weren't really that hungry. Checked pirates quickly again, but still closed.
Stopped to have a wee look around the Castle. It really is beautiful inside.
We headed back to the hotel and had a quick stop in the toy shop beside Cafe Mickey for Lewis to get a pirate sword (he was done with shooting people, and now wanted to chop them up). John, Mark and Lewis just chilled in the hotel room, and Abbey and I went for a swim. Again, lovely to relax in the outside pool.
We were back in the Studios for about 5pm. John, Mark and Abbey went on Tower of Terror for the first time and all really enjoyed it - me still not sure....
Lewis and I went on the Flying Carpets - twice - and then we all headed over to Aerosmith. I went on with Mark. John and Abbey waited at the exit for baby switch. When I came off the CM was really abrupt and rude and demanded to see a ticket. I tried to explain what we wanted and she shooed us away!!I went round to the entrance and spoke with a really lovely CM who said she could give John a ticket, that permitted 2 people, and showed him into another entrance. We've done baby switch loads of time on SM/BTM etc but have never had to have a special ticket - I looked around and couldn't see any information re this - not very good.
Lewis outside Aerosmith:
Anyway, they came off, John didn't like it. The kids then talked me into going on TOT, John said if I liked Aerosmith and Space Mountain etc then TOT would be a doddle.......The wait time said 5 minutes, but we queued upstairs for ages. As it came our turn and the CM asked how many people, I said 3, and I turned to Abbey to say that if you're nice to the CM's they'll not frighten you - when of course, the CM creeped up behind me and laughed in my ear........I liked the theming and the view inside the lift when the doors open was amazing - but I did not like the feeling of my stomach going through the top of my head and I couldn't catch my breath. I won't be doing it again.......my kids laughed their head off in the picture and I was screaming.
Whilst we were on there John and Lewis watched Stars in Cars again. We had wanted to eat in Remy's restaurant but it closed at 4pm - so decided to do Annettes. Had a lovely meal, review is on the restaurant thread.
Here are some pictures:
On the way back to the hotel we hired a pedal car and went round Lake Disney - cost 15E and I was knackered, so Abbey and I got dropped off at our hotel, whilst the boys had another lap:
When the boys came back I put Lewis to bed. John and Mark went out for some juice and got some ice from the ice machine.
We collapsed into bed after another full day.
