The Candy Scramble at SSR on Easter Sunday was fun.

On Easter Sunday we were at Saratoga Springs Resort and the Candy Scramble started at 9am. The area was divided into four age groups and Luke joined the 0-4 years. The grass was absolutely covered in sweets. The Easter Bunny (AKA The White Rabbit) started off the proceedings. The little ones were all very decorous and discerning, making sure that they got exactly what they needed. Except for one little boy who was unwrapping sweets and stuffing them in his mouth as fast as possible. (Not Luke, I'm pleased to say). No adults were allowed in the area but there was plenty of coaching going on from the side lines. For instance - me saying "get the Twix, get the M&Ms, get the Milky Way". This is after he had got all he wanted of red lollipops etc.

A couple of minutes after the youngest group started it was time for the 5-8 year olds. I didn't see this but DH said that their area was cleared in about 3 minutes flat! The two older groups did take a little longer than that.

Wow, that looks like fun for the little ones. Thanks for posting, I didn't know they did anything like this.

Thanks for this pic! We were there and it was so much fun! We were on our way to the pool and stopped by to watch. My DDs didn't want to run with the pack so stood and watched. When it became apparent that they had way more candy than anyone wanted, my littlest dd (6) walked over and picked up 2 tootsie rolls. She put them in her purse and said she was done :rotfl:I asked if she didn't want some Twix, Kit Kat, and all the other delictable treats laying there (the goodies I would have loved), and she told me to go get it for myself! :rotfl2: At least we didn't have sugar overload that day!

That looks like fun! I love how the little ones were choosy about which candy they wanted!

Thank you for the laugh!! How sweet!:goodvibes

A true testament to SSR recreation staff:wizard: They are excellent and always have been since the resort opened. 1 reason we love SSR is the very active and involved rec staff. Always throwing parties, games, special activities, etc.

I was happy/sad to see that in the AKV photos of Community Hall that CM Tori will be working at AKV so they should have a nice program also.

Just seeing your pic makes me think that SSR is truly a Country Club setting:cloud9::goodvibes
