Finished up my 2022 year with wicked and the sound of music at papermill play house.

Wicked always good, I had forgot about some aspects so it was nice to see it again with semi fresh eyes. Also lovely to see it through my daughters eyes.

The sound of music was really good and well done. I have always liked this story and enjoyed this production, it’s very close to where I live (like walking distance close) and I have a subscription so I was very happy to see this run sell out, and be so well done!

You should always check today tix, sometimes they let you select seats (not for this show)! I know I hate not knowing where I am sitting!

Oh 100% I hate not knowing where I am sitting (though I’ve been very lucky with TdF.

This is the number one reason why I don't take advantage of the discounts and lotteries and see more shows. I really need to get over that as I'm missing out on so many shows. Starting a new years resolution to be better about it this year.

They just announced Parade is transferring!! I may have to plan a quick jaunt up - Parade, Camelot...maybe Bad Cinderella...

Saw Some like it hot, and &Juliet (2nd time).

I loved some like it hot, so fun and I love a good old fashioned tap dance number and they did not disappoint. I did few and as the mezz was less then half full, the orchestra looked more full but I couldn’t see fully.

&Juliet same comments as last time, fun but could you tightening. I only went back since I thought my 8 year old would enjoy it and she did. She said she thinks she still likes Six better but loved that she knew these songs. This was a Saturday and was sold out or at least looked like it.

I’ve got a small break in shows for a bit which is sad for me but good for my wallet!

It's Broadway Week AND Restaurant Week here in NYC. (Although the events actually last longer than one week.)

Broadway Week started on Tuesday. It features 2-for-1 tickets to nearly a dozen shows, including "Take Me Out," "A Beautiful Noise," "Wicked" and more.

Before or after taking in a show, you can grab a bite to eat at one of nearly 500 restaurants across the five boroughs participating in Restaurant Week. Each spot will have prix-fixe menus featuring two-course lunches or three-course dinners for $30, $45 or $60.

And if that isn't enough, NYC Must See Week also started on Tuesday. It's a chance to get 2-for-1 tickets to some of the city's top attractions, museums and tours.

MoMA, The Museum of Ice Cream, the Metropolitan Opera, various observatories, Circle Line Cruises and the NYC Bagel Tour are just some of the attractions participating.

All three of the special events go through Feb. 12.

Saw A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical on Saturday.

A fun afternoon with great performances and an ensemble that absolutely slays and is something I wish all Broadway shows could look like. It does have the potential to become the next Jersey Boys.

A solid B/B+ grade.

Yes, I noticed it. I had made the resolution before to see more shows. But, then when I looked at the lottery or discount prices of some of them, I thought, "So, I don't get to choose the seat and I have to pay a still high price also?

my best friend and i lost all of the ones we put in for tomorrow HOWEVER telecharge offers cheaper seats to those who lose so we are seeing the kimberly akimbo matinee tomorrow! $74 a ticket which is not bad at all

Reminds me I subscribe to SiriusXM and can listen to their random Broadway Hits Channel.
“Wicked“ was in Orlando last weekend and I can not get the music out of my brain. And Figuero was so sexy onstage OMG and reading the background I think he was Gaston in the WDW production of Beauty and the Beast at Hollywood Studios !

Might just have to plan a trip to New York for that NYC Bagel tour .
Cant find a good bagel in Orlando Haha but the Target has me hooked on their Jalapeño bagels.

Also want to say that I applaud Disney for having brought back B&B onstage at HS. They also have Broadway Onstage performances at Epcot during Festival of the Arts.
. I hope something returns soon to DCA .

Realize I never updated you!


So Kimberly Akimbo is FANTASTIC! Some of the best performances and music I have heard in years. Our mezzanine seats were perfect (and as i mentioned $74 a ticket for a you lost the lotto offer was amazing). HOWEVER, everything you've heard about horrible audiences is sadly true. I am not even going to repeat what these idiots said here but is was deplorable and despicable. (We also heard that at the Sunday wicked show parents let their child CLIMB UP ON STAGE during intermission to get pictures. I pray to every deity and spirit that something is done soon)


We did see a second show. If you've never done digital lottery via today tix its relatively easier than social toaster. I was able to get, for a total of $94 for TWO (2) tickets, damn good orchestra seat at Studio 54 for Pictures From Home starring Danny Burstein, Nathan Lane, and Zoe Wanamaker. What an emotionally charge one act true story. You will laugh and cry. The performances are unmatached. Truly worth the money.


on a random note I have been driving into the city lately because I'd rather pay more and have less aggravation getting home than deal with the horror that has and always will be the MTA. I usually park at Edson on 44th but except for the alamo counter it was closed! Still have no clue why and tbh we should've parked up by Studio 54 but we weren't thinking lol.


Also anyone going to the drama book shop HIGHLY recommend the first of the &Juliet themed drinks ICED. it was divine!

I live in the Netherlands. In the last 30 years we had 3 productions of Les Miserables, first in 1992, 2008 and now 2023. It is a quite famous show, it had a movie which a lot of people saw. There is hardly a musical concert without at least one Les Miserables song. If you love musical theatre, it's very likely you know Les Miserables.

Last night I went to see the show, and I post my thoughts about the show on a Dutch board. It was a short report, nothing special, a short list of what I liked, what I disliked.

The first reply to my post was 'can you please not post spoilers'. I had to read my post twice before I knew what she meant. I had written one sentence about which character deaths were particularly moving (Enjolras, Javert and Gavroche), and even when I realized it, I had to think again. I hadn't written anything about how they staged it or the portrayal. It was purely mentioning these characters died which spoiled it.

She just explained that she has never seen Les Miserables (which can happen) but that she had no idea of the story. And she considers herself a big fan of musical theater (40 years old)

When I was going to the theater often, there are also big name shows I have never seen, but I at least knew the plot for them. Either by reading or by listening to the cast recording.

I've seen Les Miserable five times on Broadway in the various productions. The first two times with the original cast and Colm Wilkinson as Valjean. The last time with Alfie Boe as Valjean. It is one of my favorite Broadway musicals.

Unfortunately, there will always be someone who has never seen or heard of a show, movie or book, (and most likely never will see or read it,) but will complain that someone has spoiled it for them. (Especially on the Internet.) A simple solution is to just write at the beginning of the post, "SPOILER Alert," then if they continue to read, it's then their responsibility to have stopped.

Wanted to see something not terribly expensive in case our flight didn’t come in on time. We were very pleasantly surprised.

It’s a 1 Act play, 1 hour 20 minutes, 6 chairs and 6 actors but you are completely drawn in from the first intersection. We loved all 6 of the characters.

Bought the tickets on the Today Tix ap and there is not a bad seat in the house. Very reasonable, $84 for 2 tickets.

We see A Beautiful Noise tomorrow (DH huge Neil Diamond fan) and Kimberly Akimbo on Sunday. So happy to be here!

Lots of cool things in town, going to see the exhibit on Jewish Delicatessens at the NY Historical Museum and brunch at Lafayette. Trying to squeeze in a walking tour of Brooklyn and the AKC Dog Museum.

Way better than being home watching Netflix!

Planning a trip up to NYC to see Parade in April! Currently have tickets for Parade, Camelot, and Bad Cinderella. I figure even if Bad Cinderella is a train wreck, it'll at least be an experience.
I have one more show slot open, and I'm not sure if I should buy a ticket in advance or try for rush/lottery on Thursday. I'd love to see A Beautiful Noise but I hate it when people sing along at shows and I can't imagine there won't be singing. Also semi-interested in Kimberly Akimbo and &Juliet and Some Like it Hot, and a little bit interested in seeing Hadestown or Wicked on Broadway since I've only ever seen them on tour. So many choices!

Saw the Into the Woods tour last night at the Kennedy Center - it was fantastic! Sebastian Arcelus was out so that was a bummer - I really wanted to see him and Stephanie play together, but what can you do. Gavin Creel was hilarious too, though Little Red may have been my favorite - Katy Geraghty. If you can catch the tour go for it! That Milky White puppet and how they integrate the puppeteer into the show - fantastic. (also am I the only one who thinks that Into the Woods is like 30 minutes too long?)

I finally bought tickets to a regional production. I haven't seen one in any professional shows in 4 years. We are seeing Cinderella at Music Circus in Sacramento. This will be the first professional production my boys see.
