The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

I won Wicked lottery on opening night in Columbus, OH on Wednesday. Yes I saw it again and have two tickets for this week. I am seeing Evita in Flat Rock, NC on the 30th too.

So, was Kinky Boots the "right" winner for best musical? I haven't seen it yet, but would like to.

I'm interested to see it too (I really enjoy the movie and how can you go wrong with Cindi Lauper and Harvey Firestein). I know that the civic center here in Des Moines is an investor im both kinky boots and Pippin so when they go on tour they will probably be coming here.

Loved the segment with the Broadway stars that were on cancelled tv shows....that made my night....adding this late because I missed the live telecast due to my daughters dance recital and just sat down and watched the DVR'ed episode!

Has anyone seen 700 Sundays? Missed it on Broadway the first time around. I heard Billy Crystal is bringing it back in the fall, and I'm thinking of getting tickets/

Going to see Peter and the Star Catcher tomorrow (as long as the railroad cooperates!)

Just got tickets for Turn Off The Dark and Let It Be on Broadway for Labor Day weekend. We're sitting in the Flying Circle for Spider-Man.

We saw War Horse yesterday. We usually only see Musicals, but this was in our season, so we had the tickets. We were happy to be going, but not really excited about it. WOW, were we surprised! We were a mess when we left the theater, I haven't cried that hard since the first time I saw Billy Elliot or when we saw Next to Normal. What an amazing, incredible, beautiful moving show!!! I could not believe how moved we were, just wow!!!

Aw man - we missed our showing of war horse (and we had tickets). I wasn't looking fwd to it either but now really disappointed we missed it!

Just got tickets for my daughter and I to see First Date. It stars Krysta Rodriguez from Smash and Addams Family on broadway.

It also stars Zachary Levi from Chuck and he was the voice of Flynn on tangled. My daughter is a huge Zachary Levi fan and she is soooo excited about seeing him in a show.

Ill admit I'm pretty excited too. :)

We were spontaneous today, and went to the tkts booth. We debated between Rock of Ages and Annie. We went for Rock of Ages. I did not like this show at all. It was much more trashy and raunchy than I expected. I really wish we'd seen Annie.

Really? My daughter and I loved Rock of Ages!

Earlier this year The Rascals did a show on Broadway - part retrospective, part concert. It was a limited run called "Once Upon A Dream". We couldn't get tickets. Tonight they brought it to the Jones Beach Theater. Great show.
